I just hardwired a dashcam in my Mz3, it's SUPER easy.

All you need is a fuse tap from amazon that comes with extra fuses. Like this

What you do is

  1. remove the interior kick panel to get good access to the fuse box

  2. connect the cable to the dash cam and run it across the headboard above the windshield, and then push it across and down the A pillar.

  3. put the wire in the fuse tap and crimp it. add TWO 10A, 15A, whatever in the fuse tap and plug it into #9 for ACC and #11 for BAT (constant) power

  4. tidy up and test camera

    Took me about 30 mins to do all this, and you get the satisfaction of learning more about how your car works!
