Samsung Replacement EH64AVFWE 3.5mm Premium Stereo Generic Headset - Non-Retail Packaging - White by Samsung http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007C5S3AU/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_HlSzsb0XF8TSZ
I've spent up to $150 on beats tours any many others. But these are my faves because they are so comfortable. Volume up and down buttons and a pause/answer call button. Looks like the price went up a few cents.
Go on Amazon and get the OEM Samsung earbuds, volume control, button, and mic all work great. The soft tips should stay in any ear. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007C5S3AU/
Like PiratesLife said, earbuds with a built in mic work well with it. The ones that come with the Samsung Galaxy phones are really comfortable, and also cheap on Amazon. You can get them here if you want to use those. I used to use that exact pair on PS4 and it worked fine for game audio and mic.
The ones that I've tried and I was really impressed with were these: http://www.amazon.com/Edition-Wireless-Headset-PlayStation-3-63089006306200/dp/B0087OZ5FG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371555012&sr=8-1&keywords=sony+pulse+wireless . I know that they are way more than 50$ but it's a good investment if you also have a PS3.
Also tried these ones and they are quite good for their price: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDRZX100-BLK-Series-Headphones/dp/B004WODP20/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1371555090&sr=8-2&keywords=sony+mdr-zx100 .
But the ones I use most of the times are the headphones from my Galaxy S3 because I find them to be the most comfortable: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EH64AVFWE-Premium-Stereo-Headset/dp/B007C5S3AU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1371555156&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s3+headphones .
EDIT: and straight from the frontpage: http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-In-ear-Headset/dp/B006PP3ZK6/ref=pd_sim_vg_20 . Have not tried them but the price is great for an official product.
Do you use a Ipod or similar device that requires head phones? You could add a pair to your wishlit for $5.41
Get a bunch of these:

They're $4ea, shipping included. They aren't the best, but they shipped with Samsung's flagship phones, so they don't suck either. $24 gets you six pairs, one for your nightstand, one for your laptop, one for your book bag, one for your suitcase and 2 more spares. If you lose them or trash them, you won't care. If you want to fancy them up, get Comply foam tips.
In my opinion, Samsung's earphones that come with the Galaxy S III (and maybe also the 4) are quite good. Best sound quality I've ever gotten from cheap earphones, three sets of buds, a play/pause button with volume up and down buttons (however, they function as a next/previous track button on non touch wiz ROMs). And they're only about three dollars on Amazon. They're in ear as well, so sound is almost completely sealed out depending on the buds. Also, they're quite sturdy. I've broken several cheap earphones in weeks, but this one has been going strong since November.
Here is the exact link I got them from; http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-EHS64AVFWE-Premium-Stereo-Headset/dp/B007C5S3AU/ref=pd_bxgy_cps_img_z
Hap-Hap-Happy birthday!!!!
Thanks for the contest!
Ok i need to be more specific. Something like these below but just better quality and that won't fall out. Maybe with a hook that wraps around the top of ear.

Remember how older Apple headphones used to be just the plastic buds that sat in the crease of your ears.
A cheap $10 meter from the local hardware store will do fine, you'll just want to use the resistance function to figure out what connects to what if you get confused, and to test solder joints and the like.
You'll need:
Total cost will be about $15 with shipping.
Wire the connectors together in Y cable configuration as shown in the schematic. The headset should work fine with either VOX, or the radio's built-in PTT button if the radio is in your pocket. PTT from the headset connector can be done if you want it, I'd just have to doodle up a new schematic, and add 4 cheap parts.
The ones that come with the Galaxy S4 have been my favorite earbuds ever. The only time they come out is if i accidentally catch them with a dumbbell. Amazon has them for $6 but I'd be worried they were fake. http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Replacement-EH64AVFWE-Premium-Headset/dp/B007C5S3AU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1397748634&sr=8-2&keywords=galaxy+s4+headphones+retail

Cheap, effective, can buy multiples and keep them in your gym bag.

As far as pullin' a Nike and just doing it: you don't get to choose
I've always used these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007C5S3AU/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1396709169&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
They're quite cheap and have pretty good sound/design, and the volume/play/pause/skip/back functions, along with microphone, all work wonderfully on Windows Phone.
