Buy a video recorder for yourself. Maybe something like the Black Box or the SJCAM. Do a search on Amazon or try searching google for 'cheap GoPro alternatives 2015'.
Here. Worth every dime. Cheaper than a RAM mount, too, and designed for video on the go.

If it was me I would go with the no-pro/knock off option and just sell them.
You can get a surprisingly decent camera for pretty cheap like this 1080p model for $90.
Rent it out for $25/day with a $150-200 deposit. You will recover your investment after the first long weekend owning it and you can give renters the option at any time to just keep the camera or they lose it they already paid for it with the deposit.
Sell them a new SD card with every rental so they can keep it and not worry about if a previous user made some "home movies" with it. If they want you to do any editing you can copy the data on the boat and send them home with the raw video and upload a high res version that you cut together later.
I have a GoPro clone that is actually pretty good and it was $86
SJCam SJ4000
Yeah, if you just have a chromebook the webcam won't be the best choice, but an action cam will do you just fine, however most of them will top out at about 70 min battery life.

That is the one I use myself. I can use my cell phone to line up the video and start recording, and its a great little camera.
When I search Amazon for "SJ4000" basically everything that comes up seems to have a battery life of 90 minutes (like this for example, which is 70). It comes with extra batteries so that you can record longer, but that does me no good because I wouldn't be able to change batteries during a shift.
These three, are they the real thing? I have a gift card for amazon. I have the card in the cart. On sale for $10. Which would be best or is there another not listed?

I own an SJ4000 and I use it daily to record my bike commute, in case something happens. I've owned it for close to a year now. I've been happy with the camera build quality, picture quality, and the moderately happy with the accessories that came with it. Some of the mounts and clips that came with it broke because they're cheap plastic, but I've been happy with the waterproof case. Here's a 720P, 60fps video that I took this morning while on my commute. This is in the waterproof case with no openings for clearer sound, mounted on my handlebar, automatic image adjustment settings, and riding East towards the sun. Do note that this was quickly recorded in VLC and processed through VidMe so there will be some video quality degradation.
