[Bad Boy Boogie] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00W8XXRPM/ref=psdcmw_595048_t1_B006Y5UV4A).
I think Bon Scott was a great 70s front man. Brian Johnson fit the 80s.
Time to do some math!
So according to this Global IP traffic will surpass 1.1 ZB this year (round to 1 ZB, or 1 trillion gigs). Divide 1 trillion by 365 to get daily IP traffic of (2,739,726,027.39 gigs).
Now 20% of that is porn, which is 547,945,205.47 gigs, 21% is 575,342,465.75 gigs, and if we subtract these we learn that you watch 27,397,260.28 gigs (27397.26 terabytes) worth of porn a day. Storing that on these hard drives would cost you $1,643,880
sorry if this is off, its 4 am and i'm very bored.

No drive is "best", since they can all fail at any given time, but this WD drive is a good drive for doing what you are wanting to do. If you are extremely concerned about the data, perhaps back it up in the cloud or purchase two drives.
Search internet retailers for deals on external hard drives. That is really the only solution for more space.
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Passport-Ultra-Portable-External/dp/B00W8XXRPM/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1452131083&sr=1-1&keywords=external+hard+drive
Amazon is currently selling this 1TB WD external drive for 60 bucks which a great deal on a decent drive.
To be honest, you're not going to get much for $300 CAD ($216 USD). If you inlude the OS, your budget is more like $170 CAD ($122 USD). If you really just need an HTPC, I'd get a Raspberry Pi, USB WiFi adapter, and an external HDD. OS is free, the RasPi is ~$55, Wifi adapter is ~$15, and the external HDD is ~$80. You can get other peripherals like a case, cables (if you don't have any), IR remote etc. The only thing it requires is a basic knowledge of Linux (rather simple IMO).
Few wiki pages on how to do everything you mentioned in your post:
There's no real good summary in the comments here, and I just looked into all of this since I'm in the same situation.
Nintendo recommends you use an externally powered hard drive, like this. The single USB port doesn't have enough power to use a more portable hard drive, like this, unless you have a Y-cable, like this. The Y-cable provides enough power to the hard drive for proper operation since there are two usb ports. The problem is that Y-cables can be hard to find locally, and you almost always have to order them online. Mine is taking 3 weeks to get here.
Flash drives can also be used, but Nintendo says that the constant writing and re-writing that occurs on the drive as a result of gameplay can eventually corrupt what is on the flash drive, possibly deleting data and save files. Of course, it's up to you what you do, but the general consensus is that externally powered hard drives are the most reliable way to go.
If you google "Nintendo Wii U Hard Drives" Nintendo has a whole page on it. Can't link to it since I'm at work.
Any external HDD (Must be USB 3.0) that you buy will at least be the same speed if not faster depending upon what type of drive you get. I would go with the 500GB version and then buy a external HDD.
IF you do a search you can find a lot of posts asking about external HDD on this subredit.
I have one of these connected to each one of my Xbox One's. WD Passport Never had any performance issues.
You'd be best with this Asus E403SA.
it's light, its inexpensive, has a 1080p display and gets good battery life. if you need additional storage, I would just suggest getting an external drive and you'd still stay right around your budget.
Option 1: Test your HDD first with any of these free tools. You may need to replace the HDD. It's very easy to replace the hard drive and RAM in a laptop. It takes only a few minutes in most cases. Google your laptop model + "replace HDD" or "swap HDD" to find the instructions. If you don't know your model number, there should be a sticker on the bottom of the laptop or near the battery that lists the model number and serial number. If the sticker is gone, you can use Speccy to find all the information about your computer and hardware. I don't know why you would think it would be difficult to swap the HDD. Get the WD Black 1 TB currently on sale until midnight tonight and swap the drives. You can also check out these laptop HDDs from Newegg and these laptop HDDs from PC Part Picker. If you want to try to save anything from the old drive, get a dual docking station like this Thermaltake BlacX Duet Hard Drive Enclosure Docking Station so you can clone the HDD or just copy the data.
Option 2: Since you said the data is porn, I'm leaning towards the fact that you may have a virus/malware infection. I would try these steps and see if they help at all.
I would say the surface 3 if you want something that plays movies and is much less bulky than a laptop. But to each his own. At $499 it's not a bad choice. You will need an external HDD for it. When a 1TB runs about $50. You can probably find them cheaper than my generic sources if you look around.

As others have said, generating multiple backups is crucial. Her workflow should be something like this:
The HDD you've chosen is sufficiently large, fast and cheap but I would look at the finer print and see how long it is warrantied for. I suggest you get nothing with fewer than 3 years coverage, ideally 5 (as this loosely suggests the manufacturer's confidence in the QC).
I personally work from a MacBook with an SSD, then backup to two or three of these:
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Passport-Ultra-Portable-External/dp/B00W8XXRPM
They are so cheap and small, and sufficiently fast for backups, I just buy new as I run out of space.
Here you go. Double the storage for about $20 and get the 2 TB, which is what I recommend.
And you're going to get snippy comments because this is one of the most asked questions in the subreddit by far, asked almost several times a day (many are deleted). Right along with headset questions, NAT issues, people accidentally discovering gamesharing, people complaining about region lock or background audio, etc.
A good external HD isn't too hard to find. WD is the best, followed by Seagate imho. This is usually about $50

Hello /u/watcheroftimes,
It really depends on how much protection you want to do go with. If you want to make sure it is backed up no matter what; compute fries, virus, home or office is broken into. Then I would consider getting source control.
If you don't mind paying for a source control then I would consider SVN or Perforce. If you do not want to pay I would just use a git repository; however you will need to pay to keep the repo private, other wise it will be exposed to the public.
Otherwise, You can get a SSD or HDD or book drive and plug that into your machine and just mirror the drive to your current directory with your project.
Hope this helps,

Western Digital passports are solid and don't require external power

> what if it's a game like gta V? isn't that gonna take like a fucking day to download the whole thing on someone's xbox instead of just popping in the disc and downloading the updates?
Yeah big games take a long time to download. MCC and Halo 5 are around 70 GB each.
> I mean to ask, is it SHORTER to use the physical disc vs digital copies on someone else's box??
If you put the disc in the console it will INSTALL from the disc and DOWNLOAD any updates needed. So if GTA was 40GB disc and 30GB download, then all you would download is the 30GB (still takes a while).
> ALSO, that is dope about the HDD!! So any digital copy of a game i can store onto an hdd and IT IS BASICALLY FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES A PHYSICAL DISC COPY?!?!?!?!?!?
A game always needs a KEY to play. A digital copy key is your account. A physical copy key is your disc. If you have the game on the HDD you either need the disc inserted in the console or your account has to be signed in. The HDD has to be more than 256GB and USB 3.0. I personally have a 1TB hard drive and I still have not filled it up. This might work good for you.
The flash drive will fill up very fast, and they don't have that high of a throughput. According to AVS Forums, they recommend a HDD. You can get a 1TB for $59 on Amazon. I actually own the 3500, and I'm satisfied with it. I bought it to convert my old CRT TV to be ATSC compliant. The benefit of the iView unit is that it also has coaxial output, and supports ClearQAM. If you have ClearQAM channels on your cable provider, it will be able to convert them to be used on your NTSC TV.
Here's the forum for the iView 3500 STBII

I prefer a WD mysellf.
Oh look, another shit-tier question posted to r/sysadmin! We can't answer this without a lot more information and it's obvious that you've done no research at all to even attempt to figure the answer out for yourself.
What kind of content, how many workstations, how many users, what kind of geographic layout (one facility, multiple?), how critical is the data, what kind of budget are you working with, do you have access to a controlled environment for server hardware (e.g. are you sitting on top of a data center or are you trying to jam this into a broom closet), do you have competent personnel to manage the system, how often do you need to access the data stored?
Without answers to those questions, the best recommendation I can give you is to buy this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W8XXRPM?keywords=external%20hard%20drive&qid=1450211393&ref_=sr_1_2&s=pc&sr=1-2
I bought the older model, a couple days ago and the one you linked is a newer model, what's the difference between them? Do you think I should return it and get the newer model?
Actually, the flash drive is how you boot up your computer before your OS is on your hard drive. Look up a tutorial sometime.
As for the backup, you can get a solid 1TB external drive new for around $70 from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/ol/B00W8XXRPM/ref=olp_tab_new?ie=UTF8&condition=new

Sorry for the messy link.
I would recommend this one. They're relatively cheap and go on sale often.
This one is great. WD is a reputable brand and has pretty awesome warranty services.

This is an awesome contest, thank you! All of mine are under $100!
You can get a refurbished MacBook Air and DisplayPort adapter cable so you can use a bigger monitor. Cheapest with an i5 is about 300-400 on ebay. Although not sure how much you can fit on a 64GB SSD. Get an external.
MacBook Air i5 $375- http://www.ebay.com/itm/331715912156
MDP to HDMI Cable $6.50 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/272090356887
Acer 24" Monitor $110 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/311520445672
1TB External HDD - $60 - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W8XXRPM
Total $551.50
Oh man I guess not everything needs blazing speeds, and come to think of it I have a 1tb external hd
Would this be A) possible to keep inside my tower and B) appropriate to keep as a full time connected storage?
They're about the same actually, using this dock and a 1tb WD blue drive is about the same as this external one. Also the dock + HDD is a desktop drive so it runs at 7200 RPM, while the enclosed drive appears to be only 5400 RPM.
If you do decide to go external hdd, I'd recommend a My Passport Ultra as that's the one I was using for game storage on my wii u and I never ran into any problems. It did require a usb y-cable though, as just the one usb cable that came included wasn't enough to power it. I bought 1tb since I went mostly digital, but I think there are some 500gig models out there if you don't wanna overdo it with storage space. Otherwise, you can grab a 1tb since they're not too expensive and you can always re-use the hdd for other things in the future. I'll leave a link for a similar model to the one I bought. Enjoy the great catalogue the wii u has to offer and happy gaming.

Here are some Amazon links if you want:
Y-Cable
External Hard Drive. I use the older version of this one and it has held up. The reviews for this version say it works as well.
Acer Aspire E 15 E5-573G @ $549.99 Amazon US
You can upgrade to an i7-5500U @ 2.4GHz for $140 if that's something you'll need but since you only need it for school and gaming, you should be fine with the i5.
*Just a reminder to always have a backup of your files
Storage is extremely cheap these days.
Not a fan of external HDD's, but those are still cheap enough.
Thank you for checking it out 😄
This was one of the best investments I made:

I'll film the whole day and transfer it from my devices to the external HD. It frees up a lot of room on your computer and when your ready to edit the clips, offload it from the HD. 1 TB for $60 is well worth it.
$55 Western Digital 1 TB External drive.

By the looks, both would get you 60FPS on Ultra settings.
If you don't need a lot of storage space, there're similar options with an SSD rather than HDD.
Though you lose 3/4 the storage, it would speed up file operations to 8-12x that of a hard-drive. (Speeds up game loading a fair bit)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015PYYDMQ/
Considering it's cheaper, you could get an external USB hard-drive for storing images and such on if required too. :)

Wouldn't any portable hard drive be classified as a U Disk then? They have platters instead of flash storage as far as I know.

I'm sure this list seems like overkill, but our household has two Xbox Ones and so we have a lot of redundancy between the 3TB and the 2TB. I'll be honest and say there isn't really anything on the 1TB, it was just laying around the house and is plugged into the Xbox waiting. All games are stored on Externals with only Apps taking up space on the internal drives.
Yes, at a minimum. You can get a 1TB USB3.0 external for about $60 and they are very fast, great for backups (mine). But you also want some "offsite" backups, like Google Drive, Dropbox, or another online/cloud based backup service (I use SOS Online Backup for about $5/month and unlimited space). This way if there is a fire or electrical hazard and all your gear (including backup drives) fail, you will still have the offsite data available. If you don't want to pay for cloud backup, just put the really important stuff on Google Drive (resumes, tax documents, maybe important photos.. anything you can't live without).
As for a fresh install, it's usually worth it. Like everyone, you have probably accumulated a lot of programs you don't need/use anymore, so if you get an external HD to copy your files, you can install Windows on the SSD, copy your files back, install necessary programs, and you're good to go. This will result in a faster and less buggy computer in the long run than trying to clone your current HD.
No, Malltail still wins.
Amazon sells a 1 TB external hard drive for $60. The only difference from the Mac version is the file system it comes formatted with.
