I like to use indoor soccer shoes or turf soccer cleats (indoor ones have a more flexible midsole, and outdoor turf shoes usually have a more stiff feel...but all depends on which model shoe). They have softer rubber knobs similar to some golf shoes nowadays, not hard knobs like outdoor cleats). Also, they all have that lower profile you're looking for.

Biggest benefits I see are: Enhanced feel all around, when i wiggle my toes or rotate any way i can feel it translate to the ground very nicely. You can still get enough grip as well, unless it's really wet. Aesthetically you can get some that look a lot like golf shoes, or go a little wilder in the look as you'll have more choice there as well.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about: turf shoes

I've noticed lately in golf shops that more and more golf shoes are starting to mimic the design of soccer turf shoes a bit more.

Currently I'm using some Nike running shoes that have a nice grip action, mainly because I play in a drier climate and I can get away with not having longer knobs on the bottom. Really comfortable and all around good, flexible feel.

I got some cleats made for field turf specifically, and I really like them. They provide much better traction than classic "turf" cleats, but they distribute weight more comfortably than regular cleats and seem to provide a more comfortable level of traction. The style is almost like classic Adidas Copas, but with far more cleat peg studs and garish colors.

Here's a general list: https://www.soccer.com/shop/products/footwear/artificial-grass-cleats

These are the ones I got and really liked. They were about $25 on sale: https://www.amazon.com/PUMA-Mens-evoSPEED-Soccer-Cleat/dp/B007M6AHQ2

For playing on firm ground fields, the only boot i can play in and not get terrible shin splints is Asics with a multi-stud configuration (https://www.amazon.com/Asics-Mens-Lethal-Testimonial-Soccer/dp/B00GY6FXT2). I think that there are more studs making contact with the ground helps alleviate whatever it is that causes me shin splints- although it may be different for you. Another option is Mizuno.

These brands may look less aesthetically appealing than your Nike or Adidas, but they are superior quality wise.

I also went to a podiatrist and had insoles made. The only problem is finding a good podiatrist amongst the sea of bad..

Finally, as other people have said, ice your shins. It sucks but it helps.

I'm looking for a new pair of cleats; the ones I have currently (these I think? mine are a similar pattern but are green; I'm assuming color's the only difference) are quite plasticy/hard on my feet and don't provide a lot of ankle support. I'm hoping for a pair of lacrosse or football cleats with more ankle support and cushion, as well as some give to let me go up on my toes when sprinting.

I'm women's size 8.5/men's 7, so trying on cleats in stores is a giant PITA. The Dick's around me only have women's cleats for soccer, which are too low in the ankle for me. If anybody has any suggestions on cleats or other stores to try I'd love to hear them!

Why dont you go to a local sportswear shop and test them? They might even accept your gift card, or give you Nike's sinstead of Adidas, at least thats what they will do to me from time to time.
Between my Adidas Ace 16+ Tkrz size 44 2/3 EU = 10 1/2 US and my Nike Tiempo size 45 EU = 11 US it's about half a thumbs width what makes the difference. If you play on AG or Turf I really can recommend the tkrz.

Indoor soccer shoes are great (like actual soccer shoes just minus the cleats, not "soccer style" shoes). Generally cheap online and come in any color combination you could ever want.

I have these. They work perfectly for Squat and Deadlift. (Thats an older model, so not many sizes remain for that particular one. Mostly just posting to give you an idea of the type of shoe I mean.

This is what I'm linking, sorry if it's a lot, it's the item I want most

or the blue phone case would be perfect as well. Thanks for the contest! :D

Depending on how much you want to spend, and how much you have in gift card, also your shoe size would be a factor too.

Adidas boots are pretty bulletproof and F10s are usually cheap

u/theGreekViking · 1 pointr/Fencing

I'm looking at these right now. I'm thinking it's a good balance of cheap and bright yellow.

I have these and love them. I paid 38 which is less than I ever paid for racquetball shoes

Not regular pair of shoes. These are Nike Air Tiempo's. Indoor soccer shoes

EDIT: While the original Nike Air Tiempo IC's will be very hard to find in this color/model there are some shoes that are very similar in the design: Nike Tiempo Rio II, Nike Davinho. I should mention that the Rio's come in some interesting colors

u/42nexus · 3 pointsr/bootroom

Amazon is using that technology on its site now, but not all shoes have it. Try seeing if the shoes you're looking for are on there and supported. An example

Also found a pair of Puma Kings for 75 euros. Good possible buy?
