I have a [peak all around sup.](PEAK Inflatable 10'6 Stand Up Paddle Board Complete Package (6" Thick) | Includes Adjustable Paddle, Travel Backpack, Coil Leash (Aqua) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I4HLW34/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FPJaBbEACX5V1) I like it a lot. The backpack is very comfortable and nice. The board comes with everything you need except a pfd.

I'm fairly certain this is the same board my wife bought last year. She got it dirt cheap through something like a groupon or stacksocial deal. The paddle that came with it is exactly as you described, metal/plastic with no curve or angle to it at all.

The board itself has been a lot of fun and it's what we use for the kids. I finally got around to buying a replacement paddle for it this week. Bought this one off Amazon for less than $200 and liked it so much that I decided to keep it for myself and let my old paddle go with the SPK.

I'm also in the same boat. I live in the city about a 10 min walk from a beach and don't really have space to store a regular SUP and just learned about the inflatables. I really just want to use it to get out on the water, take advantage of my proximity to the beach, and give me a healthy outdoor activity to do in the summer. Since this will be my first SUP, I was hoping to try it with minimal investment.

Has anyone had experience with the $250 Bestway HydroForce White Cap or the $320 Pathfinder? Both seem to have good reviews on Amazon...I'm also intrigued with the added seat and having it double as a, what I assume will be, a shitty kayaking experience.

Honestly it doesn't make too much difference until you are good enough to start linking runners in your downwind. Straight line speed is somewhat unaffected (although a bigger fin does create more drag of course), but trimming the board gets harder as the fin gets bigger.

Now, i use one of these on my 14ft DW board. It does a good job of allowing timely trimming off the back foot.

On my 17ft DW board i have a rudder, so it has no sweep at all and is smaller...

EDIT: Here is a thread that talks a bit about it - https://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/Downwind-Fins-2?page=1

It’s the hd aero. Www.Boteboard.com. I got it last year. The cooler I got from amazon. It’s a wide flat cooler. I strap it to the front. It holds several bottles of water or Gatorade plus snacks.

That's a decent trek from the parking to the put in. Is it a rugged traverse? If not, you could pump it up at your car and then use a sup sling -- something like this: (https://www.amazon.com/SUP-Sling-Paddle-Carrier-Storage/dp/B00F3O0U9O). Otherwise, yeah garbage bag.

u/Iwasborninafactory_ · 1 pointr/kayakfishing

That looks like a wide flat stable design. I don't see anything really ghetto about it except you haven't installed a seat. It comes with seats.

u/scottyboombox42 · 2 pointsr/Sup

Im in a similar predicament to you. I'm looking for something I can attach to the board to make hauling stuff a bit easier. I just found this:

https://www.amazon.com/SUP-Things-Deck-Rigging-Kit/dp/B00DPKHL0O

I like this compared to other deck rigging systems because it's not permanent, so you can take it off after each use and not damage the board at all. It gets decent reviews too, most of the negatives seem to be from people who don't realize that suction cups won't stick to foam...

u/abumbleandabee · 2 pointsr/Sup

Here’s a link to the exact one.

I went out alone. I bought a pump that plugs into my car and went out by myself last night. It was actually very relaxing to just do it on my own time and not have to worry about anyone else.

Interestingly enough, they also make paddleboards

u/wheelward · 10 pointsr/SeattleWA

I've seen people in foldable kayaks here and there. Personally, I'm a fan of this inflatable paddleboard which rolls up and fits in a massive backpack with the pump.

This is more of a complete replacement for damaged or old grip vs additional for a pet or kid. We recently added a front pad for our dog to my wife's board and it's worked great so far.

Is this the one you're thinking of click here

The description has a weight limit of 275lbs which would work with one kid, but not both, but I will add it to the list.

u/Jay1993 · 1 pointr/Sup

These are the straps I bought, maybe about 2 inches.
