Separate units are generally preferred if you care about quality. But if it doesn't matter much and you want an all-in-one, Onkyo and Denon have some OK ones:

Looks like a top loading cd player, kinda like this

I'd highly recommend this Sony system for speakers. I've had the older version of it for two years and it works great. Its absolutely phenomenal at the price. I'm handing it off to my sister for her to use next year (I'm upgrading to a full sized stereo now that I'm no longer in a dorm)

Hi,

Me and my wife are undecided between a Sony CMT-X3CD ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-CMT-X3CD-Bluetooth-Hi-Fi-System/dp/B00MZT50BI/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=sony%2Bcmtx3&qid=1573051029&sr=8-2&th=1) and the Yamaha MCR-b20 ( https://www.amazon.es/Yamaha-Elektronik-Europa-MCR-B020-Sistema-microcomponentes/dp/B01AUXDDTQ/ref=sr_1_4?__mk_es_ES=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=yamaha+hifi&qid=1573051087&sr=8-4 )

I got a 200€ gift card from my company, and this is what they have in store in that prince. It will mostly be to play CDs in our living room.

Any advice?

Thanks, one last thing: I have a pair of LG speakers would these work okay?

u/frank_mania · 2 pointsr/BudgetAudiophile

Thanks. Not hacked. I didn't want to submit a link post to the amazon page because this sub doesn't appear to be that kind of marketplace sub, unlike, say, r/buildapcsales.

I got it from amazon.

Alright, I am looking for a 30 pin to Bluetooth device, something that will give me decent playback but won't break the bank. I am willing to spend up to $40 on it and I know nothing about the subject so I'm just looking for some suggestions. I will primarily be using it on my Sony portable party system. I was stupid and at the time didn't get the version with bluetooth already in it. So can you help me out?

u/RaymondLeggs · 0 pointsr/BudgetAudiophile

not really a soundbar but a compact shelf system that is in a sigle box keiid makes a more attractive one but it only has analog in and not optical unless you want to use the tv headphone jack. This is as close to a sounbar as i would reccomend. Neon used to be a bad brand but they revamped all their products after they got established a bit more a couple of years ago. Its based on the compact units panasonic used to make. it will sound better than a bar because it has properly sized speakers and the cabinet is made of MDF wood.

There is NO way that thing is even 100 watts. According to Amazon reviews, the woofers are stamped as 40w each.

You'd need a pair of these to get 1000w.

However if you're in the market, the Sharp GX-M10 is currently the most powerful portable system money can buy (100w RMS).

> when they could have just bought M50x for 150 and used it with their computer’s built in DAC.

That's ridiculous. I'm not going to push a DAC amp, but the sound you get from plugging a pair of M50x into even a cheap stereo like this one doesn't even compare to utilizing your computer's built in DAC. Just plugging it into your computer would be a waste of $150. I have a hard time believing you work in audio if that's your opinion, unless working in audio means working at bestbuy.

Blast from the past! I had that same Sony many years ago. It was my first real stereo...great unit.

Problem is that shelf systems have really gone out of fashion and aren't really that prevalent anymore. Here are some options that I would consider

  • Sony CMTSBT 100 $200 comes with everything you want but has proprietary speaker outs so you'll have to pigtail it.

  • Onkyo CS-445 $235 has everything you need plus a sub out.

Yamaha MCR-232BL $270 no eq settings that I could find on this guy.

You don't really need a "charging dock", you can just buy any Bluetooth-enabled compact stereo system (or any high-quality Bluetooth speaker) and a (separate) wireless charging pad. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-TSX-B72DR-Desktop-Audio-System/dp/B00GMGBA7I/

Just place wireless charging pad (or vertical stand - whatever you prefer) on top of it (or next to it if you have space) and you're all set. No need to physically abuse poor USB connector on your phone each time you need to charge it.

So I just bought a turntable. Hatred incoming: it's a shitty crosley. Keep in mind that was an impulse buy at the mall. I can't count the number of times I've seen records I wanted around town, bought them, and then remembered I had no way to play them after the fact. So...fuck it?

I plan on buying a new one soon because, while I assumed it would sound shitty, it sounds really shitty. I tried hooking it up to my computer speakers and even then there's just flat out no bass on the fucking thing.

So of course now I'm gonna have to spend my money and get a not shit one.

I was thinking an LP120, if only because it's reasonably cheap and (I've been told) mid range/decent soundwise. My question of course being, since that has a built in phono amp, do I need a receiver to hook it up to these

(By all means give me suggestions on reasonably priced/bedroom sized speakers also)

Save me from my bullshit purchase.
