For some reason, Im drawn to these black trees for some sort of decoration, depending on how tall they are, they could be centerpieces maybe?

I like this wristband bracelet for bridesmaids to wear, if you have some, or even yourself, depending on your dress color.

I like the idea of black candelabras everywhere, I feel like they are very romantic/dark, if done right. Something like this minus the fake spiders, and these Bleeding candle sticks are very cool.

If you're serving punch, an intricate black punch bowl would look great. Maybe a bowl on every other table, since they're little?

Satin flower girl basket, but I think there is a whole set for this, with a guest book and ring pillow. The gems are white, but it looks like you could easily pop them out, and place them with purple.

Instead of having guests sign a guest book, you could frame this Map of Europe and take the glass out and have people sign it. It would look amazing with all the well wishes on it, but still have a neat background to it.

A set of these Apothocary jars, filled with candy or matches, placed at the bar, or around the cake table, just as little accents. And you could wrap them with a band of purple ribbon to help tie your colors together.

And lastly, I always love candles at a wedding I feel like they are the symbol of romance. Lots of candles, everywhere. They give off just the right amount of light.

Good luck, hope Ive helped just a little. <3

Thanks for the contest! I hope to see pics of how the wedding decorations look!!!

This tank is referenced a lot. I'll give you the bullet points on why it might not be ideal:

  • It is glass, which is difficult to keep appropriately hot and humid for your ball python. Ball pythons need a temperature of 85-95 degrees F and a humidity of around 60%-70%. A plastic container like this with holes poked in it will hold temperature better and only costs $20 on Amazon. You might even be able to get one for free on craigslist. And if you DID want a glass tank, people sell them on craigslist all the time for super cheap.

  • The heat lamp will provide light, which is fine during the day but your snake will want dark at night. A ceramic heat emitter, rather than a heat bulb, is preferred. However, if you get a plastic container for your snake, your house is warm enough, and you have a good UTH, you may not even need ANY heat bulb, which saves you money.

  • You can get better information on reptile care online than in the care booklet. Especially since the booklet looks generic and not specifically for ball pythons!

  • It looks like there is only one hiding spot included. It looks like it's a half log hide, which isn't enclosed enough. You also need 2 hiding spots for your snake - 1 for the warm side and 1 for the cool side.

  • ReptiTherm under-tank heaters, which will come in the tank, are not good heaters.

  • Analog thermometers, which this comes with, are not accurate. You'll need to replace it with a digital one. They will also come with a sticky tape which sticks it to the side, and your snake can get stuck to this. Not good!

  • No thermostat. Especially for the UTH, this is vital or your snake could burrow under it's bedding and burn itself. A thermostat will keep the heat mat at the right temperature. Not too hot, not to cold.

So, just as a quick reference, here's what you might spend on a basic ball python set up:

Plastic enclosure, or a glass one bought on craigslist if you insist on glass: $0-$20.

2 hiding spots: $0-$20. You can make them for FREE by finding some cardboard boxes and cutting some holes in them.

A good UTH for a small tank: $25-$30 including shipping.

    Shredded Aspen: $10

Water bowl: $0-$5. You probably have something in your house that will do.

A thermostat: $30 JumpStart Thermostat on Amazon.

Filtered Spring Water: $1 at the grocery store for a gallon.

Total: $71-$106, for a better setup than you would get in this kit, and then you have $68 with which to get a snake. Now, if you do end up needing another heat source to keep the tank warm enough, then it will be a bit more expensive. Maybe another $50, for a ceramic heat emitter, lamp, and another thermostat.

So, could a ball python live in the terrarium with the kit set up? I guess, but it's not the best thing for a ball python, and you could do it cheaper, snake included. Heck, on craigslist in my area someone is selling a ball python in a 50 gallon tank with some of the better items I mentioned for $75. If I were in the market for a ball python I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Since you said you don't know much about ball pythons specifically, I would once again, read the care sheets in the side bar. I would compare them to corn snakes, which also get pretty big, have lower heat and humidity requirements, and are less picky eaters.

Oh boy, I hear you on the partner not putting stuff away LOL Everyday I am cleaning and tidying up. And I think this sub is a great place to ask these kinda questions, though I'm pretty new to it myself :)

- If you haven't already, I would recommend first donating or getting rid of things you don't need, use, want, or have an attachment to. That will make things much easier to work with before the next suggestions.

- Above the dresser (if you're not going to move it) is a good opportunity to install some wall shelves to put books and/or other knick knacks. Or books on top of the dresser and a more "narrow" shelving unit for knick knacks.

- If you're going to move the dresser and clothes rack, I would recommend this or the above linked shelf unit or a combination of it all to hold your skincare and makeup. This lady from Etsy makes some pretty cool wall mounted makeup holders.

If glare won't be an issue for the computer, maybe some wall mirrors, too, to brighten the area. The most common complaint I see about these kind of mirrors is that they don't stick, so you may need to buy some glue. (I've bought gold hexagonal ones to place on the table itself and going to buy larger ones for the wall possibly.)

- Replace the wicker chair with a stool / small ottoman with storage. Might help with the contents of the tub.

- A rotating makeup organizerto hold the things you use quite often. I have a "gold" / glass one myself.

- Maybe a mounted hair dryer holder, shelf, and/or bin to install on the side of the table to hold brushes, hair dryer, etc. I plan on doing this for my vanity table.

- If you are not attached to it to the standing swivel mirror on the table, I would get a wall mount version that you can attach to the other side of the table to free up some desk space... and it'll also help balance if you're installing the shelf / tote on the other side.

I don't know the dimensions of your table, so I'm guestimating whether or not the mounting area of these products are small enough for the edges of your vanity table.

- Corner shelf for behind / above the computer workstation. White to blend in with the wall, so it feels more spacious. I would paint the computer desk white or get a white one to aid in that effect.

- On the above note, I wouldn't paint the small table in the middle of the room, it blends in with the floor nicely. I like the stain / finish on the dresser and am afraid painting it white, while helping with the spacious effect, might cheapen its look in this particular case.

Those are all the suggestions I can think of, hopefully they weren't all fluff, but they're things I'd do or am doing. Best of luck, looking forward to an update whether or not I see the suggestions into play, I love remodels / reorganizing.

A lot of the comments here recommend wood. I want to add that most comments, especially the ones that talk about oiling the wood, are talking about thick (1 inch or more) wooden blocks. High end ones would be end grain.

They are nice, and also what butchers use. However, a big pain is cleaning them - which becomes especially important if you are cutting raw meat. Thick wooden cutting boards/blocks are best used when they are stationary and have a dedicated location on the countertop. With cutting meat and organs, blood and splatter becomes a big issue - not only do you need to disinfect your board but you often need to disinfect and thoroughly clean that part of the kitchen as well.

And they are often expensive! End grain cutting boards start from a hundred bucks. Even non end grain are often in this price ballpark.

For these reasons, consider a cutting board that is built to sit on top of the sink. This will be a lot easier to clean and the slop/splatter will fall into the sink as well.

In terms of material, the other thing to consider is that plastic boards are also a lot cheaper and easier to just replace. Same goes for the thinner wooden boards made of bamboo or composite wood. And these are a lot easier to clean in the sink and easier to store away when not in use.

Some options for "over the sink" cutting boards:

Crate and Barrel

Catskill

Snow River

Four steps, really.

  1. Identify the problem area. If you can do this, you can move on. Shoes laying all over? Clothing on the floor constantly? Overflow of hair products? You need to notice the problems before you can fix them. Make a list of these areas and tackle them one by one.

  2. Purge what isn't 110% essential. Because extra crap makes your life that much harder. Be ruthless.

  3. Come up with an organizational plan for the area. So maybe you need a shoe shelf, or some clear little boxes for your makeup. Everything needs to have a home. Going to places like Bed Bath and Beyond or Home Depot/Lowes can be super helpful in getting ideas of how to physically organize stuff. My favorite organizational tools are: photo boxes, wicker boxes or buckets, and plastic bins of many shapes and sizes. Label everything, that way you don't have to dig through multiple boxes to find stuff. This step honestly takes a fair bit of monetary investment, but the return is just huge mentally.

  4. Make a habit out of being organized/tidy. At first this is super hard, but once you get rolling, it's incredibly rewarding and decreases your stress level by about a hundred-fold. It was suggested to me by my ADHD coach to make a schedule for doing things, but it turned out to be easier for me to just do things as I saw them- the trick for me was to ACTUALLY do them.

Let me know if you want more info or help! I LOVE organizing now! It's such an incredible feeling to be in control of your life.

Okay, you can't go wrong with a monotub then. Most commercial growers I know use them because they're fairly bullet proof (this is an extremely relative term for mushies) and are low cost. To get going you'll need the following, please be aware that there are no real shortcuts and cutting costs initially will ultimately cost you time and money. Rather get the correct kit second hand, than substitute with an inferior product.

  • 10 x pre-poured petri dishes - this isn't essential for the beginner, but I would recommend it. That said, they're $30 on amazon, so they might break our budget

  • Cheap Chinese Pressure Cooker $34 you absolutely need a pressure cooker. If this is a little pricey, check out craig's list, FB market place, or Gumtree depending on where you are. They're big pots and people get sick of them, so they're easy to pick up generally. If you're buying second hand, get them to bring it to pressure before buying. You wanna make sure the seals are good. Charity shops are another good place to look.

  • You want a plastic tub to build your monotub with. Get 2, because you'll also want a still airbox - these are 15 bucks, but you may be able to find them cheaper locally.

  • Nitrile Gloves 6 bucks

  • Canning Jars, You need 4, I'd go with 6 in case of contams

  • Coco Coir - get this at a local nursery or hydro shop, it's overpriced online
  • Grain, some people have a preference, but IME Barley, wheat, rye and sorghum (milo) are all great. Stay away from WBS - it colonises slowly. great for master jars, but not my favourite for growing. Source locally. Avoid health shops, look for animal feed stores

Check Out Roger Rabbit's How to Grow Mushrooms Videos They're old and cheesy, but the advice is rock solid. You may have to torrent full copies, I'll leave that in your hands.

Personally, I found growing mushrooms to be a challenge. It's not difficult, once you know how to do it, but it fucking is when you don't. For me, forums were a total cluster fuck. Shroomery was the worst. There's tons of incredible growers there, but also a lot of dickheads who post teks for the sake of posting teks. Not knowing the difference between a dickhead tek and a pro tek was my downfall. Then one day, a buddy showed me where I was going wrong, and it all clicked into place very quickly. I strongly recommend RRs Vids for the first timer. They'll give you a good understanding of the basics and get you to a crop. Feel free to PM me for additional help, especially when you get to prepping grain.

Stay away from the exotic strains for now. Get cubensis. Get Amazons (They're my favourite, and the mycelium is aggressive which makes it a little more forgiving to the beginner). Galandoi ALT7 (truffles) are super easy too, because you don't fruit them. They just take a lot longer.

Using the kit I've outlined you should be able to produce 100 - 200g of dry shrooms within six weeks. I'm sure I've forgotten a couple of things, please watch the videos. When you get the inevitable trichoderma, don't give up. I really sucked at growing shrooms when i started. Keep logs, understand sterile technique, and keep pushing. It'll come. Ultimately, I ended up doing 40 tubs at a time with loads of strains running at a time. I do not recommend this, but I was able to pay for my wedding and an epic honeymoon over 16 weeks of growing hard

Ah man I wish I had gone to Ikea...I love it there haha.
I ordered this shelving set and these cube holders

Thanks :) I had them all in bins under the bed and shoved into cabinets...I was like, nope! It's time! Unfortunately I have a couch like a foot away from it...but it's okay. I like it :) I wanna see yours if you get it all organized!

Hi there! I think you've got a great start here with the neutrals. I agree with the poster below that you should put the plunger and brush in the cabinet and get a new trashcan. I'd add the color white to this. Get some nice plush white towels to hang over the bar, a matching hand towel to put in that handtowel ring, and a little basket of rolled up hand towels on the back of the toilet. Like this: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dmf2YAgkEFI/UZsbnwQ4c2I/AAAAAAAABZ4/Z5hMUp_wlgk/s640/towels.jpg Hand towels here: http://www.amazon.com/Basic-Cotton-Hand-Towels-White/dp/B00BD97PWI/ref=sr_1_20?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1381330008&sr=1-20&keywords=Cotton+Hand+Towels
Then get 1 or 2 floating shelves to be put above the towel rack. Use this to arrange a matching basket to the towel basket, some learning framed art (a family pic maybe? A pic of the pets (s)?) and use the basket to store additional toilet paper. Something along the lines of this: http://media-cache-ec3.pinimg.com/736x/0c/87/f7/0c87f796e96070e54adb1c6b6d1e1958.jpg

Maybe a soap dispenser that ties it all in like this one: http://www.jcpenney.com/best-prices/royal-velvet-ravine-lotion-or-soap-dispenser/prod.jump?ppId=1e235ef&Ns=PLH&searchTerm=soap+dispenser&dimCombo=null&dimComboVal=null&catId=SearchResults&colorizedImg=DP0618201202102979M.tif or just a white one like this: http://www.jcpenney.com/for-the-home/clearance/bed-bath-/jcp-everyday%25e2%2584%25a2-resort-ceramic-soap-dispenser/prod.jump?ppId=pp5002320245&Ns=PLH&searchTerm=soap+dispenser&dimCombo=null&dimComboVal=null&catId=SearchResults&colorizedImg=DP0124201317024052M.tif
A small bathmat for in front of the sink: http://www.jcpenney.com/bed-bath/bath-rugs-bath-mats/pantone-universe%25e2%2584%25a2-bath-rugs/prod.jump?ppId=pp5002325221&catId=cat100250089&deptId=dept20000012&topDim=Color&topDimvalue=whites&dimCombo=Color|&dimComboVal=whites|&currentDim=Color&currentDimVal=whites&colorizedImg=DP0410201318472411C.tif&urlState=/bed-bath/shop-bath/bath-rugs-bath-mats/whites/_/N-1nopgpZ131/cat.jump And you're complete.

u/ltamr · 52 pointsr/konmari

My arts/crafts supply is pretty massive. It’s also under control, most of the time.

It’s also the ONLY area that I had to adjust my Kondo expectations...rather than item by item, I recognized that the act of being creative sparks huge joy, and so the supplies I keep need to be aligned with that.

The first thing I did was go through all the items and examine them for functionality. Old paint, rusted needles, etc., got tossed immediately. I recognized that anything I would have to fight with would diminish the joy of being creative, and needed to go. That was easy.

As for organizing, this is a really tricky area. I began with rigid organizing systems, but that doesn’t work with the ebb and flow of supplies. More than once I had to completely redo beautifully labeled organizers as my supply of thread, fabric, or paint changed.

Here’s what I do:

TOOLS get a dedicated container. So my glue gun, dremel, scissors, protractors, etc. have their own labeled boxes with the accessories in them and are placed on a top shelf where I can just pull them out as needed. I like these. I have a box that just for small tools such as a small screwdriver, wire cutters, etc. My larger tools, such as paper cutters and laminators are also put on the shelves, as they don’t fit in a box reasonably.

Supplies get a FLEXIBLE, IMPERFECT system in drawers this includes ribbon, paints, tape, floral supplies, sewing items, and other supplies. Basically, I put like-with-like in containers/boxes/baggies with plenty of empty space to allow for changes in supply level.

u/GummyTumor · 1 pointr/learnart

I keep most of my pens, pencils, airbrush equipment, markers, inks, and smaller items inside these, I like the black ones, and the larger/oddly shaped items like spray paint, gesso, palettes, and acrylics get tossed into these folding canvas boxes you can find pretty much anywhere now. I can fit one of each side by side on my shelves and they keep everything neat and organized. I have 4 of the canvas containers and 3 of the Sterilite drawers along side all my art books and video games on these dinky waist high shelves I got at Target. You'd be surprised how much stuff you can cram into them.

My drawing desk is just a smallish dinner table I bought for $10 bucks, best deal ever! On it, I keep a rotating pencil holder from Office Depot that holds my brushes, rulers, and nib holders. I also have a few jars of water for water coloring, two lamps, and some of those wooden hands/mannequins for still lifes on there. I nailed some nails to the side of the table to hang a pencil case filled with the essentials for when I'm traveling or want to paint/sketch outside, I also have some nails for artist's tape, my heat gun, and a dust brush.

I generally don't work on paper larger than 9x12, so most of my pads of paper and sketch books go right in my shelf standing up.

I can't stand working in a messy studio or losing any of my supplies, so having multiple drawers and boxes where I can just throw things into and sort them out later is perfect for me. I really recommend the Sterilite drawers. They have them at Target and Walmart and come in different colors.

First official post here. Wanted to share my 2017 Mazda3 Sport GS Automatic in Soul Red Metallic. Named her after Julianne Moore. I bought my 3 last June from Jeff Holley at Mazda of Toronto - like so many others, can't recommend this man enough.

I cleaned her up in time for Spring (Ontario, the snow is finally all melting after the recent brutal ice storm), picked up my summer rims and tires yesterday from Allen at Simply Tire in Toronto, and took a bunch of exterior and interior photos for you lovely folks:

See Photos Here

In case anybody is interested in some of the things I've since added to my 3, I'm including links!

Wheels: RTX Envy Black Machined Bronze 17x7.5 40mm offset

Tires: Hankook Ventus S1 Noble H452 215/50/17

Scuff Plates: Mazda OEM Scuff Plates

Hatch Sill Guard: Mazda OEM Rear Bumper Guard

Mats: Mazda OEM All-Weather Floor Mats

Hatchback Mat: Mazda OEM Cargo Tray

Dash Cam: Aukey DR02-CA 1080p Dash Cam (routed through the headliner, down through the driver's side weather stripping and hardwired into the fusebox)

Start/Stop Button Red Ring: Found on eBay for $3 CAD!

Alloy Gas/Brake/Dead Pedals: Also found on eBay for around $30 CAD, no drilling required

Phone Mount: iOttie Easy One Touch 3 mounted to the side of the storage space under the A/C controls. (Incredibly sturdy, clever mount/unmount mechanism, and hardly moves when on the road.)

Trunk Crate: CleverMade 46 Litre CleverCrate (Found at a much lower price and in red at Costco)

Hope you like!

I have these under my bed. They're very helpful and I use them to store my video games/CDs/knickknack crap. We also have them(with a cubby) in my computer room that holds our towels, cleaning products, and art supplies. You can also put labels on them to make it easier to know what is what with having to pull the entire thing out. :P

Little boxes on the hillside ! Good luck with your move :)

If you have room for a shallow bin or two, you can fold underwear and socks so that they are filed and easy to grab. It just takes more effort beforehand. I recently reorganized my drawers this way and it freed up so much space and made everything more organized.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Dg0g2OPRg4

Another idea is to have these hanging shelves somewhere: http://www.amazon.com/Whitmor-6351-1234-JAVA-Organizer-Collection-Accessory/dp/B001KMRZ0U/

You can buy bins and then consequently organize your underwear and shirts like the previous video shown.

http://www.amazon.com/Household-Essentials-Drawers-Hanging-Organizer/dp/B0044SHP16/

Only hang what you need to, like suits, dresses, and jackets.

u/TurboCooler · 3 pointsr/minipainting

I have display cases that look like this:
https://www.amazon.com/JW-AD-F6804BK-DISPLAY-Acrylic-Display-Tower/dp/B00MYC5200/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1500953302&sr=8-2&keywords=display+cabinet

This is just an example, I have purchased mine at tag sales or jewelry stores or other retail shops that have gone out of business and have paid less than $40 for each of the 3 I have.

If you want to store in boxes. These work and I have some in these:
https://www.amazon.com/IRIS-Quart-Stack-Pull-Pack/dp/B00CQGTGZQ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1500953505&sr=8-5&keywords=storage+boxes

You can make separators using card stock. I usually keep my packaged miniatures in the plastic storage bins and then when painted I move them to the display case. I also print out a sheet with a catalog of the miniatures and tape them to the boxes and then cross them out as I paint them.

Hope that helps.

You might be interested in QLC+ (it's free and open source) and an Enttec DMX USB Pro mk I (same company as the DMXIS, but a hundred bucks less). I've programmed a show for a buddy's band to their click track and had a generally positive time with it. I'm a professional lighting nut, so I thought it was a bit restrictive, but that's more of a problem I have with preprogrammed shows than with the software.

Take the $200 you'd save with this control scheme instead and spent it on safety cables, velcro cable ties, a storage bin for your cables, computer, and DMX adapter, gaff tape, and pizza for when you get together to program and jam the first time!

Those links probably aren't the best options for each thing, I just wanted to link examples.

I have dozens of these and they work AMAZING for keeping my filament dry and out of the humid air:

Worth every single penny and you can find 4 packs for relatively inexpensively on amazon.

1-2 1/4 inch holes should be good at this point, maybe even just undoing the clamps on the side that make it airtight would work. I know thats how I do mine, but I use ziplock totes with a blue foam like o-ring thing at the top to makes it airtight when clamped shut.

edit: this is the tote I use

It's worked well for me as I've yet to have an issue with moist filament, but I print in an upstairs room where the humidity rarely goes over ~35% unless it's raining, in which case it can get as high as 50%.

-----

PLA is less susceptible to issues regarding moisture but that does not make it immune. AFAIK all of the common filaments (PLA, PETG, ABS & Nylon - more or less in that order) can all become moist.

I'd suggest getting a humidity sensor such as this one and see what the humidity is like in your basement: https://www.amazon.com/AcuRite-Accuracy-Temperature-Humidity-Monitor/dp/B01HDW58GS

Also, in my experience most PLA doesn't usually have much noticeable odor. What brand of filament are you using?

You may want to consider a dry box setup such as one of these:

There are also commercially available options.

Well, the case only really matters if you see yourself traveling with the headphones often.

The stand is honestly more for style than function. There's a bit of function in keeping your headphone off the desk, but it just looks nicer overall. The cheapest you can go on a stand is literally a banana stand. I honestly don't think it looks half bad.

Maybe you're looking for these kind of boxes?

I currently use them to store some LN's and manga until I have some more space/a proper bookshelf, they keep your stuff from getting dusted and most of them are made of thick plastic.

I'm pretty sure they’re available in different sizes so you can store multiple things in one box (blurays+manga+LN's)

Not a lady, but I don't see anything wrong with some plastic tubs like these guys that you store under your bed or on the floor of your closet. I would just wrap things up in some sort of fabric before storing them so they don't possibly get dinged up if they get rattled around inside.

Boxes look like these and are what I use: Ziploc WeatherShield 44 Quart Storage Box, 4 Pack, Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MWTJXHS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_7U8RBbM011YZ6

I'm probably in the minority here, but I am not a huge fan of these systems, as there is so much wasted space! I have no problem putting a dresser in a closet. We have 4-drawer dressers in two bedroom closets.

All of our current closets and pantry came fitted with basic Closet Maid wire shelving, and that's fine with me. We have canvas or fabric sweater and shoe organisers and some boxes that fit in the sweater one. I use banker's boxes or plastic storage bins on the upper shelves. I also make use of doubling rods, basically a short closet rod on two long hooks, so shirts can be hung on upper and lower rods.

btw, if you are set on a closet-shelving system, check your lease, and verify that you can remove it when you leave. Some leases require that anything attached to the walls becomes the property of the landlord. This protects them from having huge holes left in the walls.

If that is the case, be sure that the system you choose will leave only clips attached, which you would leave behind while taking all the expensive pieces with you!

Additionally the bins I buy stack with about 12.7 centimeters of room between each bin which is similar to the worm farm 360.

I ordered 24K worms yesterday. Ordering 24K more of the dealer is good.

Will these work? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01NBY6EYN/

Also, is there a safe way to wet clean records without buying a 170$ contraption?

Edit: I'm seeing some bad reviews on all the brushes saying they scratch the records and don't actually get any dust off, should I still get one?

Stock my house

Stock your house!

I found when I moved out on my own, I didn't have near enough PLACES TO PUT THINGS

I'm a cheap bastard and instead use varying sizes of these that I can pick up very cheaply at local home goods stores (Target, Walmart, etc). Get a roll or two of non-skid plastic liner meant for cabinets and you've got a stackable storage option that your models won't slip in.

I find things like specially made army bags are far too expensive for what you get.

I think I should of clarified more. But I meant putting a glass carboy in a tote that would block out the light. But now that I'm thinking about it I could get an airtight tote that could block out the light.

Sorry for being vague
