Graco lounger ( pretty much Graco version on rock and play) this was one of those items i held off on but man is it amazing and glad i got it.
At home i used my moby daily until LO was about 4 months after than my favorite thing was my Ergo 360.
I really liked having a bassinet near my bed but LO only liked this for a few weeks and once i finally got him to like his crib ( about 2.5 mths ) we moved the crib to by my bed until he was 6 mths or so.
My best and most treasured item after he was out the newborn stage was the zipadeezip, this thing saved my sanity and finally got my kiddo sleeping long stretches and in his crib. Kiddo hated swaddles.
Halo swaddles are nice for the start and i used these a lot in his first month but then he refused to be in them.
This Socks on allows me to use any socks and not loose them - Sock Ons Clever Little Things That Keep Baby Socks On! 3 Pack Boys 0 - 6 Months https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0091WJN2E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_LsPjxbYPHYJ87
Getting a few lingerie bags to wash socks in will also be helpful - i keep 1 at the laundry hamper and put socks and mittens in then when out the wash i just put it away in the bag, really haven't lost any socks or mittens using this method combined with the socks on
Outfits that allow you to fold the cuffs over will help with newborn talons that they always slash themselves with even thou you cut them every few days.
I love the bathtub we went with, he used it as a newborn and still does at 17 mths -Fisher-Price 4-in-1 Sling N Seat Tub https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F2MQ0EQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_5GPjxbRNH9R6W
If in the US look at target (cartwheel too) for amazing deals they usually have formula and diapers with giftcards back. I have walked out with $70 in giftcards.
They usually can have buy 2-3 giant diaper packs get $30/$20 back, buy 3 cans of formula get $20 back and spend $150 get $20 back so if you get those all together it is awesome.
Oballs really last a lifetime.
Some sort of playmat, mine could lay on his for so long kicking around.
Gratz on your little one and good luck, you are going to be an amazing mom.
Edit to add: love my diaper genie ( LO now tosses his diapers away for me it is adorable) and also Love Dr. Brown bottles (lots of parts but love the bottle) the Dr. Brown sanitizer and warmer were also used a lot.
Now, I don't know what baby showers/gifts are like in Holland, but atleast in the US, it seems like everyone LOVES to get baby clothes. So, unless you have a really special outfit in mind, I probably would skip the baby clothes, or atleast get clothes in bigger sizes. I got a ton of newborn and 0-3 month clothes at my shower. Maybe if you're doing a variety basket, you could throw in a few pairs of baby socks or a little hat or something. Especially if it's going to be a fall/winter baby, finding a cute winter hat could be fun. On amazon, I found a pair of matching winter hats- one that fits mom, and one that fits baby! https://www.amazon.com/oenbopo-Parent-Child-Warmer-Daughter-Crochet/dp/B01LXB35YQ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=mom+and+baby+hat&qid=1565279915&s=gateway&sr=8-1
As for more of the "essentials", I would definitely check her registry. This can atleast give you an idea of what she already knows she needs, or if there are any certain brands she seems to prefer. There are always things like thermometers, baby nail clippers, medicinal stuff (gripe water, gas drops, desitin, etc) bottle brushes, even baby toothbrush sets. If she's planning to breastfeed, there are a lot of pretty nursing covers out there. Some of them are even multi-functional and can also be used as scarves or carseat covers. One random thing that I found at Target were these medela "quick clean micro-steam" bags. They're intended for cleaning pump pieces, but I use them for pacifiers ALL the time. Books are also good, because reading the same 4 books all the time can get a little old :p
And as someone else said, any gift cards for food delivery, or even throwing some coffee into the gift basket are both good ideas.
Congrats on your sobriety! That's awesome :)
If this doesn't scream childish, then I don't know what does!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HDATZ! :)
Congrats!

They’re huge but easily fold to fit, love that they will probably last him through toddlerhood!
Happy birthday! I’m sorry to be one of those asking for something. The winter is coming and my son just has a thick sweatshirt to keep him warm. We’ll be able to bundle him up in layers but we need a hat/mittens for him to wait for the bus and possibly play in the snow. I’ve provided a link for one that I found. Thank you if you can help out. We are a one income/one vehicle household caring for two children. It's hard to say - my son was 6lbs 12oz at birth and ended up wearing NB sizes for two months.
Knowing what I know now, I'd go with something like this -
Newborn:
Two packs of these sleep gowns - so you'll have 6 total. This is what my son wore... 80% of the time for a few months. Night and day - they allow the easiest access for diaper changes, especially with a sleeping baby. And no buttons or zippers to fuck with at 3am. Seriously - the best.
One Pack of the Gerber Onesies - so you've got 8 onesies that can be bleached if you need to.
One Pack of Leggings/Pants - so you'll have 4 pants total that you can throw over the onesies if you need to layer up.
One Pack of Socks - this is my favorite brand. They've never fallen off of my son in 17 months. As a newborn I'd put them on and pull them up over his pants and that helped keep them on before his feet grew big enough to hold them up. The pack I got were white, which don't seem to be available right now on Amazon, but if you can find white - DOOO EEEET. No one wants to try to match up 24 socks when they're sleep deprived. Just do white. Also - wash these in a mesh bag so they don't get lost to the sock monster.
Two Packs of Fleece Footies - depending on how cold it gets, fleece or cotton zipper footies. 4 pairs total will get you through the times you don't want to dress baby but need to be able to buckle her into a carset (which you can't do with the gowns).
That's pretty much all my son wore for months, barring like... his Christmas outfit, etc.
For 0-3 Months it's basically the same thing, just sized up. You'll figure out pretty quick which clothes work best for you and how many you need. My son, for example, ended up having horrible reflux. He spit up more than 10 average babies combined - so I think we ended up with around 50 onesies in 3-6 month sizing that all got worn multiple times. We went through around 7 outfit changes a day, even with bandanna bibs. So - lots of laundry. Also noteworthy is that this is when he started daycare, so we needed extra onesies for his earthquake kit, his emergency kit, his cubby, his diaper bag, etc - at least 7-10 onesies stashed places that never actually got used (so... save the godawful onesies you got as gifts but thought you'd never use for these emergency kits!).
But honestly - get you some Amazon Prime and your problems will be solved. Underbuy what you think you'll need clothing wise, and then when it becomes apparent that you need more of X, Y, or Z, load up your Amazon cart and you'll have it in two days.
Baby leg warmers to help protect those little knees! Plus they're super cute: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B018RNRWIE?psc=1
Mine are knit cotton and feel warm but my house rarely dips below 67 even in the winter. I’m sure you could find wool ones if you live in a colder climate. As for socks, these things are pretty cool
might be best served by a DIY approach. Maybe a onesie in the teams colors with socks the closests you can get. You could probably find an iron-on patch as well. They tend to outgrow stuff pretty fast (as I'm sure you're aware), wouldn't want to drop loot on a one-time thing, right?
My baby daughter could always use new cute stuff! :) From my WL 'Things for Kiddo' are these adorable socks including one with purple dots! Thanks for the contest.
CHRISTMAS!!
And Christmas Baby Socks with SANTAS FACE! because I love miniature people and all the clothes I see for them :)
Sock Ons! Seriously, they're pretty goofy looking, but they keep socks on all day. I'm not big on unnecessary baby gadgetry, but they are awesome.
I love these.

I hope you can find them cheaper, though. (But love those, I never use the basic bibs, they hardly cover her tummy!)
Try these. I was gonna recommend them to OP but I don't think she has the same issue as you described. My daughter was tiny and had super skinny feet and for several months these were the only things that would stay on her. The socks are stretchy and the whole sock grips the entire foot/ankle so it clings to the foot and doesn't slide down at all.
Ezpz mat and silicone bibs with a pocket
Baseball hat: He has really thin hair and pale skin. Since he’s became obsessed with baseball hats, I don’t need to put sunscreen on his head
Balls: little balls, big balls, textured balls, light balls like a beach ball
Inventa sleep sack with vents. We live in Southern California and need a sleep sack so he won’t climb out of the crib, but it gets too hot with many sleep sacks. This one has vents that can be zipped open to allow airflow.
Sorting toys.
Books: some favorites are here, here, and here
2 and 3. She needs these for her "small human" because he needs to learn the awesomeness that is Batman at a young age :-D. Plus, he will be the coolest kid with capes on his socks :-)
Thanks for the contest!
These socks work well for us. The material is nice and soft and they stay on really well.
I would like these baby hats because I'm having a baby and she is going to need some hats to keep her little head warm.
Thanks for the contest!
I dont buy any thing that requires me snapping all the way from the leg to the chest... aint nobody got time for that. We ONLY do zippered pajamas at my house. Also to keep socks up we use sock onz which are amazing!!
My son needs these socks because he keeps losing his and it's too cold now to go without.
Alternately, I need this book to help me with my job.
Thanks for the contest!!

Sock ons! We have a pair for every occasion!
Sock Ons!
I haven't tried them yet - I think it's too cold for bare feet too (we're in MN) but I keep losing the battle of socks so I figure I'll give these a shot this winter.
