Top Reddit comments about Baby Stroller Bunting Bags:

In no particular order:

  1. Snuza Hero (SE). Was $120 when I bought it, looks like it's gone down to $100. Really helped me sleep soundly knowing we'd be alerted if anything stopped baby's breathing. We had a few false alarms where it simply became detached from her diaper, so it definitely works.
  2. 7 A.M. Enfant Nido. So, this was not actually a splurge at all because I somehow lucked out and found it on clearance for $18, but I would happily pay full price ($60) knowing how well it worked for us. It is designed to be safe to use in the car seat (nothing touches the straps at all). My daughter was toasty warm all winter long. We live in Michigan and get a lot of snow. This product was invaluable for me.
  3. Solly Baby Wrap. ($65) There are cheaper wrap carriers out there. This one was the best I tried. I loved this product so much. I'm actually going to have a hard time not buying a second one in another color 😂
  4. Uppababy Vista Stroller. ($930) We had another (cheaper) stroller at first, but I ended up selling it and buying this one before my baby turned one. I wish we'd just gone with this from the get-go. The ride is incredibly smooth and the quality is amazing.
  5. Infant Optics DXR-8 Video Monitor. ($165) I actually thought we could get away with no baby monitor at all because our house is so small. It's true, it's not a *necessity*, but when we went to visit my MIL and she had purchased a monitor to use at her house while we were there (for 3 weeks). It was so nice having it that I purchased this one as soon as we got home. I didn't realize how much freedom it allows you (I can go have tea on the back porch, or do a bit of gardening, or go run on the treadmill downstairs, all without worrying that I won't hear the baby waking up) until I lived with one first hand. We survived just fine for over a year without one, but I could have been so much more productive with it. This time around, I'm getting an add on camera for this unit to put in our room (where new baby will sleep). The original camera will stay in my toddler's room.

Everyone is different. Some really like the diaper genie. I don't because it's annoying. I also use our changing tables but many don't.

I highly recommend a JJCole Bundle Me http://www.amazon.com/Cole-Original-Bundleme-Infant-Graphite/dp/B003KN27C8 for winter babies.

I love our bottle sanitizer even though we breastfeed. It's nice to have for pump parts and bottles when we do use them.

We use the cradle n swing during the day for naps. I love it.

I wish we had this http://www.amazon.com/Infantino-Wonder-Whale-Kicks-Giggles/dp/B00DJPKA4Y for our son or the one with the piano. He loves his activity gym but also loves kicking. This one also has a funny time area.

Fleece sleep sacks. Carters runs 0-9 months and they do fit at 0 and looks like they'll fit our beefy baby for a while.

I had created a list for friends after we had our first kid:

>Bottles:
Breast Flow was what we started with since it was said to mimic the breast the
best and help avoid nipple confusion.
http://www.amazon.com/The-First-Years-Breastflow-Bottle/dp/B0031PXV7K/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1269959457&sr=8-16

>We also tried Drop-ins to help reduce gas. It works but the problem is if the
baby unlatches then air gets in. So we didn't use it for long. Since it is
disposable you only have to wash the nipple.
http://www.amazon.com/Playtex-Drop-Ins-Original-Free-Nurser/dp/B001F0RAC0/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1269959562&sr=1-7

>What we mainly use now are Dr Brown's wide nipple. It seems to work well enough
for preventing too much gas. We feed adn then burb and he's usually ok with gas.

>Also give him gripe water once a day and Mylcon 3-4 times.
http://www.amazon.com/Dr-Browns-Polypropylene-Natural-Bottle/dp/B001LENCUE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1269959656&sr=1-3

>Bundle-me - for the car seat. This is great for keeping the kid warm and cozy in the car seat during the winter months. It was also handy since the seat was big
for him when he was a newborn and this added some cushion.
http://www.amazon.com/JJ-Cole-Original-Infant-Bundle/dp/B00009VE5O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1269959771&sr=1-1

>Feeding pillow my wife liked the best was Brest friend, it was better than the Boppy since it warped around. My wife was starting to wrist pains from holding the baby up until she started using this.
http://www.amazon.com/My-Brest-Friend-Pillow-Sunburst/dp/B000HZEQSU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1269959826&sr=1-1

>For swaddling we tried Swaddleme but he would fight his way out. Then we found one that you can place the hands in flap that tucks under him and he couldn't fight out of that one. Only trouble was that he would get too hot in it. I don't see it on Amazon though. We picked it up from a birth store in Denville.

>The sleeping sacks he also liked, similar to one below.

>This CD seems to work well for him. It's not magic but if he's tired it helps
him fall asleep faster.
http://www.amazon.com/Stops-Crying-Heartbeat-Lullabies-Vols/dp/B00003TFYP/ref=pd_sim_m_1

>A flask of hot water is good to keep around if you guys are going to bottle feed. Maybe not as big as the one I got but it was more geared to travel, we have a smaller one for home use.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000U8D0H2/ref=oss_product

>This Sony Baby monitor was good since it has voice activated mode. It turns on when it hears crying.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0017T2RYU/ref=oss_product

>the baby clothes that open the front and much easier to put on. greber makes some.

>Don't buy diaper systems that seal. When you open it later you'll be hit hard.

>Better off letting wet diapers air out and place the other in the garage or outside. We usually place poopy diapers in a diaper bag. It's also handy for disposing them while on travel.

Keep in mind this is from 4 years ago.

My friend just showed me her 7AM Enfant Nido . I just bought one!

It’s super safe for car seat (doesn’t go between baby and straps) and in about 20-30 degree weather, she put her baby in with a long sleeved onesie and pants, the Nido, and he was soooo toasty warm. Actually a bit sweaty if you kept him wrapped up in it in a car, but it opens very easily. No need for bulky jackets or anything. I loved it and bought it on amazon prime a few hours later, haha.

u/CatsAndKittens · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

We use this 7AM Enfant Nido, Black, Large https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00RMNCNRQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Yw6vyb82WBG1M and it's too warm usually. It's pretty amazing.

u/pm_me_ur_kittiesssss · 1 pointr/babywearing

I liked using a stretchy wrap for the first 3 months or so (up to 10-12lbs) and a soft carrier with the infant insert up until she was about 7 months, and without 7+ months.

I was using a solly baby and Juno+. Used almost everyday less maybe a handful of times.

Not sure how cold it gets by you but I’d recommend this with the soft carrier and a larger jacket and/or something like this with the wrap.

u/PinkMoonrise · 3 pointsr/OctoberBumpers2017

I'm Canadian and car seat blankets are a pretty standard thing here.

They stay attached to the seat and the straps are threaded through specific holes. They also make them for some strollers. Add some mittens and a toque and you're good for keeping warm in a car seat.

u/jlynnbizatch · 1 pointr/beyondthebump

My LO was born in March and it was still pretty cold when we had him. We used this winter car seat cover for the first few months and plan on using it again this winter when it starts to get cold.

u/KipsterED · 2 pointsr/preppers

Yep, I've taken <1 years for stroller walks in the winter (~25F) and left them outside in the stroller. Of course they were in a stroller bunting too.

u/Ikuisuus · 1 pointr/BabyBumps

Canadian, north Europeans and north US citizens!

Something that was missing from your list and would have been in top 3 of mine: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kaiser-Stroller-Thermo-Fleece-Anthracite/dp/B0044P4J22

Thermobag for a baby, it has beltslots to install on stroller, it's warm and so great. Even in near zero fahrenheit only needed one extra layer for body, extra socks, jacket and hat which made going out so much faster. From 32 F and up only socks, jacket and hat were needed. I have dog so it was so easy to install baby to the bag and go out. It also kepts fingers and toes so much warmer than with regular outfits and baby could actually move when not being dressed like michelin man.

u/RayningAcid · 2 pointsr/beyondthebump

Do you mean a Footmuff ? They're really common here in the UK

u/iris1387 · 4 pointsr/BabyBumps

Does this JJ Cole Bundleme need to be cut, or did they change the design recently? Looking at these photos, I’m not sure what part is supposed to be cut out.
