(Part 2) Reddit mentions: The best blank labeling tags

Plano boxes are wonderful. I currently have 31 smaller locks in one of these (mortise + KIK cylinders and smaller padlocks), and 33 larger locks in one of these (full-size padlocks and cam locks). The storage density is very high, and the boxes have held up quite well and are cheap to replace if they break. I have another deep plano box that holds most of my tools and equipment, and one drawer to hold overflow/oversize items.

As for labeling locks, I generally only label things that are part of a series. For instance, I have seven American Lock 5200s that I use for practice, and each one has a small piece of masking tape on the top of the lock with a number written on it. The associated keys are all on a ring, and each one has a piece of tape on the bow with the matching number. During practice I won't look at the number, so I don't know which lock I'm working on if I grab it at random.

For special locks (borrowed, challenge locks, etc.) I'll use metal-rim paper tags to note important information, but I currently have very few locks that meet this criteria and don't use them often.

Just put in the acquisition date as opposed to a price.

They are brass tags that are usually used to identify equipment, valves, etc.

[The Crystal's can be found in the fish tank/pet section in walmart... I personally found a bag for $2 containing all the listed colors I bought 2 bags to start]

Damage I got key ring tags from walmart in the office area. 2 bucks for the pack comes with round white/green/yellow/red.. double sided so

So I need some help. Bought some NFC tags and set everything up. But my range is crazy short for these tags. I can never get the frunk to open with the tag.

It seems like with the tags I have they have to literally touch my iPhone.

Been using these for a while. They work quite well with my iPhone 11.

Stuck them on cheap poker chips and used a sharpie to write on them, they worked fine.

Eventually I got 1.5” round inkjet labels and placed them over the tag, still fine.

I just followed these instructions.

It could be the NFC tags that you got, I watched a video by one of the guys who used to be on the workflow team and he said not all NFC tags work as good as others. He tested a bunch out and gave his recommendations.

I hang worn clothes on a hanger in the closet but with one of these key tags on the hanger. I write 1, 2, 3, etc. to indicate how many times an item of clothing has been worn but anything could be written on them to indicate how worn a piece of clothing is or how dirty.
