Budget Friendly:

  • Innisfree No Sebum Powder. If you are oily this stuff is really nice! It has a little bit of a minty smell but it does help with oil control.

  • Real Techniques Sponge. I love this sponge a lot. I have a beauty blender as well but really I can't tell the difference finish wise when I'm using either one. So naturally I love the budget friendly one.

  • Wet N Wild Reserve Your Cabana. I love this! It's called a bronzer but it's definitely a highlighter. I love that with the first layer it's enough to give you that lit from within look but is definitely buildable for much more intense looks. It can be a bit powdery but you get so much product that it's definitely worth it to me.

    The splurge items:

  • Burberry Earthy blush. I have a small size of this that I got off of ebay and I love it to contour. It's natural enough that it doesn't look like a crazy contour color or anything. I bought the smaller size for about $22. My only qualm I have is that it's scented but not in a benefit blush way. It's intense so sometimes I sort of avoid using this product.

  • Urban Decay anything. I currently have the naked skin foundation (powder), foundation (liquid), and concealer and they are all great. UD also makes it really easy to figure out your shade if you know your undertone. I also swear by their eyeshadow primer in Eden.

My tried and true tanning go to is the Xen Tan self tanner- I have used this for every wedding that I've been in (a lot!) and will also be using this for my own wedding this October. I've found that this brand has the most natural effect for me of any other self tanner I've used (tan towels, saint tropez, fabulous, tanning salon spray tans to name a few! I work with oncology so I avoid tanning beds as much as possible!) and this tan lasts a little under a week. This used to come in a foam with a nice vanilla scent and that one was my favorite, it has a nice olive undertone so it does not leave your skin looking orange! Lately I haven't been able to find the foam so I've been getting the dark tanning weekly lotion, which works just as well. I posted the link below for this on Amazon, but I've also seen this in stores like Ulta. I think the key to this one and probably any other self tanners is to use a tanning mitt, and I like to mix this with regular lotion when applying so it blends in smoothly and dilutes the color a little if you are more on the pale side like me, plus it lets you apply this a little more gradually if you wanted to apply a little each day so you can figure out what shade works best for you. The tanner itself has a tint to it so you can see where you've already applied and make sure you don't have any streaks. Another thing I love about this brand is that they have a tool that you can use to apply this to your back- which is just awesome. After you apply this it takes about 3 hours to set and will gradually get darker, and then you rinse off the "top coat"/excess and you are ready to go! I usually apply this 1-2 days before an event, but definitely practice a couple weeks ahead of time! Another tip I have with any self tanner in general is to make sure not to use body lotions with heavy fragrances as the alcohol in the lotion can contribute to breaking down the self tanner so it won't last as long, plus can end up a little blotchy in some cases!

I hope this helps, and congratulations!

Literally drop everything you’re doing rn and buy some Tend Skin. It burns so good. And works so fast.

Tend Skin The Skin Care Solution For Unsightly Razor Bumps, Ingrown Hair And Razor Burns, 8 Fl. Oz Bottle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001ECQ7G4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_VJ-MDbQP3TDC4

Then if you wanna get really into it, make sure to exfoliate the area every day. If you’re shaving often I would use an anti-bump scrub like this one:

GiGi No Bump Body Scrub With Salicylic Acid for Ingrown Hair & Razor Burns https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DYJJQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_aN-MDb4GTV8XM

When you use the scrub on the area make sure to start using it 1-2 days before shaving/waxing and then wait 24 hours (or until the next day) to start using it again. It’s very important that you use the scrub often to exfoliate as your hair starts to grow back. This removes the dead skin cells that hairs can get trapped under and lifts the hairs to promote them growing outward and not inward, causing those painful bumps. To really get the job done, try applying the scrub with an exfoliating mitt like this one:

Skinerals Scrubbing Exfoliator Mitt - Exfoliating Gloves To prep and exfoliate skin for self tanner sunless tanning (Exfoliator Mitt) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNVKRMP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bS-MDbNCC2Y5P

After shaving or waxing, apply some finipil to the area for the first few days as the skin is still raw and prone to infection. This will not only fight against infection and ingrowns but will have a really soothing and cooling effect on the skin. Pricey but worth it:

finipil Lait 50,1.5 fl oz, 44 ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C4YJL96/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bT-MDbDVD2PJ8

Do all these things and you should be good. Remember: our skin isn’t meant to be removed in the first place. It won’t simply play nice just because you want it to. You’re going to get ingrowns and bumps and dark spots sometimes no matter how hard you try so you just have to accept that you’re human and be okay with it. But I definitely believe you can manage ingrowns greatly by committing to a regimen.

I just tried this! I'm brown/dark skinned, I can honestly never tell which since it depends on lighting and the time of the year, but my legs are hella pale compared to the rest of my body. Like so pale they could be considered light skin. I bought this self tanner and a mitt to apply it. I was pretty heavy handed with it and left it on for 24 hours. It looked so good! Left my skin looking nice and brown and finally matched the rest of my body. I'd definitely recommend trying it.

This is my favorite:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GOZEFP6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Gives you a nice golden glow that isn't tooo "fake". It's aesthetic, trust me.

edit: Apply it pretty lightly, make sure to spread thin, pay special attention to your armpits/serratus area when applying, if the tanning room has sanitizer gel, use on your hands with focus on your fingernails after applying. Other than that, use as expected!

I'm planning to buy a membership for the month of my wedding (next April). I'll just go a couple times a week and a few minutes each time, but I'm naturally pretty pale and I loved my dress when I bought it with a summer tan, so I'll want to at least get a few shades darker. Don't forget if you're doing this to buy face makeup that matches just a few days before instead of in advance if you're doing your own makeup.

This is the lotion I've used in the past and it's fairly well priced online so I'll probably order it again.

Reserve Your Cabana works as a setting powder and has a luminous finish. It's definitely less drying than Rimmel Stay Matte. If your skin tone is fair this would be a good option.

L'oreal True Match Powder is good too. It feels almost soft, and in my experience it isn't drying.

This one I just bought yesterday. It smells like Love Spell bodywash from Victoria’s Secret and the smell fades quickly. Got a good start on my tan with this.

I recently started getting really bad ingrown hairs on my legs. Two products have made a huge difference so far: this scrubbing mitt and Cremo shaving cream. I use the mitt twice a week in the shower and it's really done wonders for me! The Cremo shaving cream gets a nice close shave and has been less irritating for me. I also periodically use the Mario Badescu AHA body soap and moisturize with this cream that contains urea and lactic acid when my legs are feeling especially dry and a little rough.
