here is some good ball at good prices. pending on how much it cost to get it drilled in your area it should be within that price range, amazon also has the lower end stuff under$70, if you have prime then it's a good deal. my son just picked up the original track tactix for $88 at amazon and that ball is well worth the price.

I use this , it’s a hammer black widow legend. It does exactly what you’re talking about, back end hook. I throw it similar to you it sounds like, and with this ball I have to throw it across the lane. I love it, hits real hard.

Pyramid apparently has one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TVFNV9Z?pf_rd_p=183f5289-9dc0-416f-942e-e8f213ef368b&pf_rd_r=4ERVYZC7XHR0R48NV4R8

Also since you seem relatively unfamiliar with buying bowling balls: balls generally come undrilled so no need to look for a black market haha!

Why are they so expensive?

Just bought this, couldnt be happier with it. should turn over for you a little bit on the back end even if you aren't trying to throw a hook:

Standard bowling balls can weigh as little as 6lbs. Children's one's less than that... and here's one I found with a 5 second google search that weighs 2.5lbs.

I'd wager that one can find 2.5 pound ball that probably makes the same (or similar enough for the purpose of the trick) sound a much heavier ball would when you drop it on the floor.

The rest appears to be technique and showmanship concealing the ball and misdirecting the audience.

I don't. I looked at reviews of a couple of their other balls (beer and Rainbow) and people were really grumpy about them.

I'm kind of sad about the rainbow one, because I've kind of been lusting after that for a while but can't bring myself to spend that kind of money on a spare ball.
