Ok here's some things you might want:

  • An Elgato Game Capture. As far as I know it has the best quality for recording Gamecubes and Wiis. You might need to buy the "retro" cable for it to work with a gamecube. Other people also use the Live Gamer Portable which I think has very similar quality

  • Wii component Cables. If you want the BEST quality I think you're supposed to go with these.

  • Component Distribution Amplifier. These things do the same thing as using splitters, but instead of spitting the signal they output the signal as strong as it came in. Oh, and you might want to try just going to your local radioshack for one of these... I got mine for like 5 dollars which is cool.

So, you should use a wii with those component cables if you want the best quality. I've had problems using them though. What happens to me is I'll put the component cables from the wii into the amplifier input, then I'll have one component output going into the elgato. The other output is meant to go to the TV, however most normal crts do not have component in, and when i try to use regular av cables out while there is component coming in, I only get black and white on the tv. What we did instead was switch back to the normal wii cables, bought the "retro adapter" for the elgato and only used av cables in and out, but doing this loses a little bit of quality. If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong here that would be awesome if you could help me. Oh yeah and your crt doesnt seem that out of the ordinary, I think that's how the back of most crts look.

Hope this helped :) just reply if you have any questions

As someone with a focus, himself, I can tell you that you'll be perfectly happy with 1 good sub. Albeit mine's newer... Anyway, I have 1 10" Alpine Type-R in a sealed box running off 500w (my 3rd gen type-R is rated for 600w rms) and it fills the cabin VERY easily. Mine's also a hatch, though. I'd go with 1 good 12" in a sealed box.

On to the other stuff. Get a deck with 3 pre outs and get 6.5" speakers and adapters to fit the hole to replace those 6x8's. I'll add full recommendations for a good build, with a modest budget, in a few minutes.

Edit: build
This deck
2 pairs of these
This speaker amp
(Get it from best buy and price match amazon. You'll get the amazon price but still get full best buy AND Alpine support since best buy is an authorized dealer.)
This sub
This Sub Amp
(Do the same thing as the other amp.)
Wiring
(You should also get a fused distribution block and put a 60A fuse for each amp. You'll also need another set of RCA cables for the sub amp.)
Speaker adapters (get 2 pairs)
(Disregard the description, it's a 6x8 to 6.5 adapter)

Get This antenna, paired with This booster. I have never had any issues since. Small roof imprint too which is nice. Obviously higher and outside mounting is the best.

It's omni directional, but it does have a little preference. If you also have an HD Homerun there's an app called "Signal GH" by Generally Helpful Software that will help you point it in the best direction so that both FOX and everything else are best picked up. Otherwise, if I remember correctly it's just like 5 degrees off north to the east is best...

Sundown lowered the price on their SD65CS components to $189 until they sell out. These are an amazing set for that price and would match up well to.your amp.

They will sound good on your head unit but really will open up with an amp.

If you want a 5 channel amp, components and sub around your budget, I put this together.

With that said, the P300-12 is a nice, cheap all in one unit that will save you space and time. Mine is in an SUV and sounds good. It doesn't get too deep, I think its range is like 40-120Hz, but it sounds good

u/hapticeffects · 1 pointr/Zeos

Yeah, so gross-looking, especially compared to the SA50/60. Ruled out the SA50 because it only has one input; the SA60 though has a 3.5 input on the front. Don't want to buy entirely on looks, but at the same time, that Monoprice thing is an eyesore.

The game-changer for me though was discovering that, using the RCA out from my TV, I could just set the volume of the amp to 30% (tested with the Leipai currently being used in my office) and control the level the TV is outputting to the amp. So remote no longer necessary, as long as I'm running RCA into the amp.

The 4 inputs on the Q5 are nice, but 3 are digital (USB, opitcal and coax), so I wouldn't be able to have the TV hooked up and a separate input for my wife's mp3 player. Maybe I'll just go SA60 and call it a day-- that Q5 looked like a lot of fun in your review though, it would be cool to throw an old laptop into my setup and use the Q5 as a DAC, just for fun.

Just bought some BS-22s for my sister (they were $60/pair for like 20 minutes last weekend on Amazon) so she can have a 2-channel setup with her TV in her small apartment. Was going to get her a Leipai to drive them, but her TV has optical out only (weird, no?), so now I'm looking for something comparably priced with a remote is this my winner?

u/ajjjas · 1 pointr/audiophile

The Onkyo is nice, I've had one for a while, and I like it, but it doesn't have a remote. I would consider the SMSL Q5 Pro if you can deal with the inputs, but if you're looking for something higher end, I've enjoyed listening to the Teac AI-301DA.

If you're fine without the remote, the Onkyo has been a solid performer for me. As for subs, I've heard and enjoyed a friend's Hsu Research VTF-1. I have a Klipsch R-12SW that has served me fine, but I got it for a song new, and if you're paying full price, the Hsu is a much better value.

Also, if you go with the Hsu, it has speaker-level pass throughs, so that opens up the avenue for 2ch amps without discrete sub outs, and I'm always quick to recommend the Emotiva A-100.

u/Joey-Bag-A-Donuts · 1 pointr/audiophile

Well, I started with a budget of next to nothing, and in doing some research discovered that there are plenty of good class-d integrated amps out there for a pittance. I was impressed with what I saw and also overwhelmed with the choice of features vs. price vs. sound quality. I started thinking I would enjoy the Micca speakers, and maybe an Indeed integrated amplifier. This is before I had a sack of money thrown at me and I could spend a bit more.

So today I am looking at KT88 or EL34 tube integrated amplifiers, and among the hundreds of Chinese examples, I have whittled down my choices to a select few in the $400-600 range. The trouble is, none that I have found have sub outputs, or any outputs for that matter. Only 1 or 2 have headphone jacks that I could use. I plan to drive a pair of Audioengine AP4N speakers and a sub yet to be determined, but probably the Audioengine S8 8" to compliment the satellites. This is for my desk. I don't listen to music loud but I want a system that I can use in the future for an extra room, so I'm thinking ahead. Here are my questions.

Do you know of an all tube 30-40 wpc integrated amp with outs for a sub? With the aforementioned KT88's preferably?

Here is an example of the amps I had my eye on:

http://www.amazon.com/YAQIN-MC-13S-Integrated-Amplifier-Push-Pull/dp/B00A7IZN70/ref=pd_cp_e_0

http://www.amazon.com/GemTune-GS-01-Amplifier-Output-Voltage/dp/B00FE9OYZ4/ref=pd_cp_e_1

The only amp I found so far with sub out is the Qinpu A 6000 MKII. Not a bad little amp by the reviews, but I was hoping for a little more power.

Thanks for your help!

u/lpbman · 2 pointsr/BuildaCarAVForMe

I would go with

$300 w/install kit Pioneer 80prs

$90 8" silver flute for doors

$60 XT25 tweeters

$70 subwoofer box

$80 Skar VD subwoofer

$170 MB Quart 5 channel amp

$60 knukonceptz wire kit

$40 Noico sound deadener

Over budget, $870, but that is some good kit for the money. I am not sure which wire harness you need since you aren't keeping the stock bose amp.... that would be a great thing to ask in crutchfield chat window.

Run the 80prs in network mode, cross your sub/mids at somewhere between 80 and 200, mids and tweeters anywhere from 2500 to 5000hz. Tweak around until it sounds best to you. Should sound great.

u/Skitch_n_Sketch · 1 pointr/audiophile

Would definitely recommend trying to demo speakers, though that is often dependent on your location.

I'm a fan of Emotiva stuff, so I'd take a look at their Airmotiv T1. The KEF Q500 is pretty popular and the same price, though I believe is being discontinued. If you're not 100% set on Floorstanders, SVS Ultras, Philharmonics Philharmonitor, and Acsend Acoustics Sierra 2 are all worth a look.

If separates are fine, I'd look at a power amp like the Emotiva A-300 or Onkyo M5010 + a DAC / Preamp such as an Emotiva PT-100 or something from Schitt.

If you'd prefer an all in one package, the Onkyo A9050 is a great piece of kit, and you can add a power amp later in the future anyway.

u/applevinegar · 1 pointr/audiophile

NAD amplifiers (C 326BEE) have a pre-out, for example.

And I know you mentioned you wanted an all in one solution, but you could go the separates route (preamp with headphone amplifier and power amp) and it wouldn't really take much more space than a single integrated amp.

Finding a cost effective pre locally isn't easy though and you will be better off ordering online: an Emotiva PT-100 would be ideal, and you could pair it with either their A100, which is pretty small, or an Onkyo M5010, for a total cost below $500.

u/seamunkey · 2 pointsr/audiophile

I have one of these hooked up to them right now, with an ODAC from my laptop as the source. The speakers sound great, I really like that the speakers have a large "sweet spot", my pair of HSU bookshelves were too beamy.

I've used them as a stereo hometheater right when I moved into my new place, hooked up to a Yamaha HTR-5990, they were great. Then when combined with a subwoofer crossed over at 60Hz they were excellent.

u/effin_dead_again · 2 pointsr/CarAV

OK, here's a couple of creative options:

Woofers to pick from:

u/austofferson · 1 pointr/CarAV

Better yet, this one matches my 2 ohm 2x300w rms perfectly, would it be a good choice? Thanks for all your input already by the way, really appreciate it

u/seniortiss · 1 pointr/CarAV

As far as your sub amp goes, here are some possibilities. I'm sticking to Amazon since your other products are listed there, so I'm assuming it's easier for you to buy from there.

Alpine MRP-M500 - at 4ohms this amp will provide 300 RMS. Perfect match for your sub.

Rockford Fosgate R500-1 - at 4 ohms this amp will give you 350 RMS. A bit over your subs rating but given box rise and stuff it will be fine.

JL Audio JX500 - Again, 300 RMS @ 4 ohms.

SoundQubed Q1-750 - 300 RMS @ 4 ohms. Great company too.

Audiopipe APSM-1300 - 300 RMS @ 4 ohms. Budget brand but given your application, it should be fine.

Then for your speaker amp:

Alpine MRP-F300
- 50 RMS x 4 channels @ 4 ohms. Half the rated rms of the speakers but it will still work.

JL JX360/4
- 70 RMS x 4 channels @ 4 ohms

Alpine MRX-F35 - 60 RMS x 4 channels @ 4 ohms

Kicker DX400-4 - 50 RMS x 4 channels @ 4 ohms

These are just a few options that I put together quickly.

u/meathole · 3 pointsr/CarAV

So, any amplifier that is 2ohm stable is going to be 4ohm stable. As you go up in impedance, it doesn't draw as much power from the amp as quickly, thus the amplifier's stability goes up. Those speakers handle 100 watts RMS each, so I would shoot around 75 watts RMS at 2Ohms. This amplifier perfectly fits your needs and is digital so it is very efficient: http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-MRV-F300-4-channel-car-amplifier/dp/B00BLQA9BM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396355685&sr=8-1&keywords=mrv+f300

I have the MRV-M500 mono version of this amp for my subwoofer and it is amazing.

u/LongUsername · 5 pointsr/cordcutters

It all depends on how strong your signal is. Each time you split it, you lose power (some lost in the splitter, some goes one way, some goes the other).

They are all home-runs to a single 9-way splitter?

You'll likely need to get an amplifier as the signal from an antenna is usually weaker than than from a cable feed. I can't seem to find 10-way splitters (which makes sense... it's splitting it in half each time 2-4-8) Here's an 8-way that looks reasonable. Here's a slightly more expensive one with a higher gain and a metal case. You could probably use a passive 2-way splitter before this to get your 9th port successfully. Make sure if you have any unused ports that you slap a terminator on the end of it.

If you can mount the antenna on the exterior of the house it will give you much better reception than in an attic. I was able to reuse an old Dish Network mount on my house, but that will all depend on where you have clean line-of-sight to the tower. Higher mounts and bigger antennas equal more signal. If you're marginal you may also be able to use a preamp to help pull the channels in.

u/NCC74656 · 2 pointsr/CarAV

i have installed these in a few cars at work and they sound pretty good. http://www.amazon.com/JL-Audio-C2-650-6-5-Inch-Component/dp/B0036D1DQI not terribly expensive either. a good 2 or 4 channel amp would eb nice for this. say like thsi one: http://www.amazon.com/KICKER-DX400-4-4-Channel-Series-Amplifier/dp/B004UWLRJ2

just a few thoughts.

u/manofinterests · 4 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

Amazon link to the amp is question

I'm liking your setup! Is that one of those fancy curved monitors? How are you liking it? Also, what beer is on the menu tonight?

Also, go easy on the Parmesan haha

u/DancesWithGary · 1 pointr/CarAV

So I've been looking around, and I found some zapco mono amps but am not sure if they are the ones you are talking about. First Second Third

The SoundStream ones are super cheap, but I noticed the 500W mono is only rated for 1 or 2 ohms, could I still use it at 4 ohms?

I was also looking into Hifonics as I've heard good things about them, and Rockford as I had a prime amp in my old car and it never gave me problems.

u/The_Lesser_Weasel · 6 pointsr/buildapcsales

Currently I'm using this which is overkill for these speakers, but I got it for a good price and I wanted something that could comfortably power beefier speakers down the line.

The old recommendation was to get a Lepai 2020a, but since those no-longer use the Tripath chips, I'd go with something like the SMSL SA36 or SA50.

u/firebirdude · 2 pointsr/CarAV

Completely ignore max or peak power ratings. They are nothing more than a marketing gimmick to attract uneducated buyers.

As everyone else has said, the amp is shit. There's plenty of solid 5-channel amps out there, but here's a solid bang for the buck.

I didn't see a wiring kit on there. You'll need a QUALITY 4 gauge kit. Again, plenty of companies trying to rip off the uneducated by mixing in aluminum or simply undersizing it and still calling it 4 gauge. This is a very high quality kit.

Lastly, many people argue about needing/wanting rear speakers. I'm not going to choose a side, but I will say you surely don't need a component set in the rear. Swap one set out for the coaxial version and save yourself 50 bucks easy.

Factory head unit? Aftermarket? What model? You'll probably need some extra RCAs and speaker wire.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/headphones

For $100 check out the Qinpu Q2 if you want a little bit of tube flavor.

I have this amp. I couldn't recommend it enough for the price, and especially with AKG 70X series which is roughly 62 ohms. I had the AKG K240S @ 55 ohms and it was an excellent match.

The tubes it uses aren't too expensive either with an average price of about $10 per tube.

Since it's a hybrid amp (has tube input stage, and solid state output) it doesn't drive it's tubes hard so they'll likely last for as long as you own the amp. In other words, you won't have to replace the tube often (unless you want to tube roll to change sonic flavors).

It also has speaker terminals to drive highly efficient speakers.

The Fiio amp is nice, but those AKGs will treat you well with a little bit of tube flavor.

u/choob_nation · 1 pointr/hometheater

OK great. I got the lepai lp2020a+ amp going right now for the speakers. I'm finding if I want to use it for movies a remote would be good. How does this amp

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0073WTG6M/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1420067262&sr=8-1&dpPl=1&dpID=41J7Q03YzxL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SX200_QL40

Compare to the one I currently have?

u/CreepyMasta · 1 pointr/Zeos

Thanks so much for this review, Zeos. Very very happy for the heads up about these quirrrrrrks.

Would love to see you check this one out: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0073WTG6M/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1KQRE5VTGP4IB&coliid=I14W5IFQGWGKMV

Sound quality is probably not there....but if the remote works better than SMSL then it could be a contender for the soundbar killer (the price is right at least).

I'm suspecting that those who would hear a difference in SQ between the two would be going for the refurb Denon on A4L anyway (size be damned!) I haven't heard Lepai though.

u/Kristosh · 2 pointsr/SparkEV

Right that's the speaker rating and it's the max. They probably only push 15W or less RMS.

What I'm saying is the head unit amplifier is only pushing 15W to your new speakers. A new amplifier would really bring out the sound quality by giving them the extra wattage the need to sound excellent!

If you're on a budget something LIKE THIS BOSS would add extra wattage (not a lot).

If you want better quality something LIKE THIS KENWOOD.

u/Phlob_ · 2 pointsr/CarAV

it's a decent starter, but prolly for a couple hundred more you can seriously improve on some of your equipment.

SUBS

AMP

or you can do 1 12 in a ported box about the same size and it would sound nice as well

u/KingSculpin · 2 pointsr/hometheater

Good lord! This would be far cheaper/easier than the sub amps. How come it's not recommended more often?

Edit: So this random amp I found on Amazon.ca will be good, as long as I used a Low-Pass Filter? I'm only asking for future-me in case my BKA 1000 dies 😅

u/14seconds · 1 pointr/CarAV

Hi, thanks for the reply. The output of the Amps are in the PDF file linked: kenwood KAC-x542 - 960 Watts.
the amp for my subwoofer is a KAC-x522 I don't plan to replace the amp for the subwoofer - 1000 watts.

the frequency range of the speaker in the pod is:
M361: 50Hz to 20kHz (±3dB) up to 120 Watts (60 watts rms). this has a small tweeter and crossover included.
M351i 65Hz to 20kHz (±3dB) up to 80 Watts (40 watts rms).
Kicker DSC674: 40-20k (60 watts rms).

I'm guessing I could just add the rated power of each and that's the power input I'd want to match? in this case, wouldn't it be best to get roughly 100 Watts RMS to each speaker pod? What are your thoughts on PP 600.2? This looks to be able to push 100 watts RMS to each set of speakers?

Thanks again for your help.

u/rdwtoker · 1 pointr/CarAV

the amp they suggested is fine, you could just get the same stuff off the web for super cheap

4 gauge amp kit - $32.48

line out converter - $13.02

SAE-1000D - $314.99

ported prefab - $49.99

that puts my amazon cart total at $411.39 tax included, and if you didnt want to do the amp install then buy your stuff online then take that amp/amp kit/loc to a shop and pay them to install it.

However, I would recommend a custom box rather than the prefab I recommended as you would get a lot lower bass.

u/dooshbox · 2 pointsr/BuildaCarAVForMe

Speaker Amp $145

Save a little with this Knukonceptz wiring kit $50

Sub amp $150

Puts your total at $620. You may be able to find a cheaper speaker amp, I'm just a fan of Alpine, and I love mine!

u/Croteaux · 1 pointr/BuildaCarAVForMe

I haven't given much thought to where I would put the amps. I was thinking about getting a Kenwood KAC-8406 for the drivers in the doors and a Kenwood KAC-9106D for the Idmaxx, but I'm open to suggestions. I'd love for you to put something together!

u/000Destruct0 · 3 pointsr/hometheater

Okay, if I were doing this I'd get:

Receiver $38: http://smile.amazon.com/Lepai-LP-S60-Desktop-Amplifier-Remote/dp/B0073GLC6U/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449863103&sr=1-7&keywords=lepai

Speakers $152: http://smile.amazon.com/Infinity-P153-Primus-Bookshelf-Satellite/dp/B004649W1Y/ref=sr_1_6?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449863372&sr=1-6&keywords=infinity+primus

Nice thing with this is that when you decide to move to a good surround system you can take the speakers and move them to surround duty and get the P363 towers and PC351 center and have a speaker set that will last you for a very long time.

u/_Highgarden · 1 pointr/smashbros

If this is regarding the Elgato HD60, then disregard what's below

The El Gato should have come with a dongle that can accept Component/Compsite that goes into the S Video Slot.

Gonna need something like this as well: http://www.amazon.com/RadioShack-Component-Distribution-Amplifier-15-311/dp/B00B2MQD92

This way you can split the signal from the console into the TV and the Computer you are going to use to stream on. You're also going to need two separate male to male Component connections as well to use this.

I feel I wasted my money on this because I now just play Smash 4(much simpler), but if i ever need to stream PM, I got the set up ready to go.

u/Nixxuz · 1 pointr/BudgetAudiophile

For that kind of power at 2 ohms you can honestly cheap out and get one of those no-name pro audio amps off of Amazon. They are rated nowhere near their actual output, but I'm guessing they can probably deliver 250 to 2 ohms bridged.

This guy could probably do what you need for cheap;

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XDRF2GZ/ref=s9_acsd_zgift_hd_bw_boFHb_c_x_w?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-8&pf_rd_r=7Q6NCFH1C8C5JPXZHZJ9&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=0497ff4c-4d34-5653-b8b8-4de167da8ab1&pf_rd_i=11975151

TBH, I've heard a lot of good things about Rockville so long as you aren't totally pushing it and depending on it for a paying gig.

u/dr_torque · 1 pointr/audiophile

You could also consider the Yamaha A-s301, and this TEAC, they both come with integrated d/a converters, especially the TEAC, which supports DSD. If you're okay with used, there's also a nice A-S501.

u/F1ghtmast3r · 1 pointr/battlestations

A cheapo currently. https://www.amazon.com/Lepai-LP-S60-Desktop-Amplifier-Remote/dp/B0073GLC6U I will be upgrading it later. However with the DAC I added it sounds pretty good.

u/MeowMixSong · 3 pointsr/cordcutters

You're still going to have to run drops, but it's only the source that will be different. You're going to need 3 large antennas with quite a lot of gain, (such as the CM3020), and a and 8 port distribution amplifiers. The only other option would be an IPTV system such as PSVue for each TV.

u/Chrisrizzy · 1 pointr/CarAV

Nope since your sub is a dual voice coil model it will only take 1 ohm or 4 with a single sub. With 2 of them you could go with 2 ohms. If it was single voice coil it'd take a 2 ohm amp. You're correct in running it at 1 ohm as your amp is designed for it. The amp you're using is only giving 600w at 1 ohm tho. Rockford Fosgate has this amp if you want tons of power at 1 ohm (1200w) http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_34764_Rockford-Fosgate-Prime-R1200-1D.html

This amp was discontinued and will give 1000w at 1 ohm. Sundown does put out good products and this may sound slightly cleaner than the amp above. https://www.amazon.com/SAE-1000D-Sundown-Monoblock-Digital-Amplifier/dp/B00MJGGO30

  • What is your maximum budget? (either all at once or over time as budget allows)

  • Since i'm only looking for the sub itself at the moment to install in my 33hz ported box, around $200

    ---
  • Will you be installing the gear or will you have it installed by someone else, such as at a shop? If a shop is doing the work, does your budget include cost of installation?

  • Myself

    ---
  • What gear is in your existing system? (Is it stock? List any aftermarket gear. If upgrading, list previously installed equipment)

  • I have a avh pionner head unit, one jbl speaker amp, one 2000w kenwood amp, one 15' XFL 1522, 33hz ported box *I know i should fabricate my own box but that will be a future project, and one capacitor with a digital meter with 4 gauge wire traveling from that to my kenwood amp.

thanks for the help, I actually found this on craigslist for $100 and it turned out it didn't fit in what the guy got it for so he wanted to get rid of it.

I have a distribution amplifier similar to this one to drive 3 TV sets and an HDHomeRun. Works great.

Please give the exact model name. Are they the SWS-10D2? If so they handle 500W RMS @ 2 ohms. If you have 2, then that means you want an amp that handles 1000W RMS @ 2 ohms wired like this or direct. An affordable amp that meets these specs is the Kenwood KAC-9106D.

It does everything I need it to. It really is crazy that it's only $20. The extra input jack is great because you can hook up a powered sub there. I did see comments of people complaining about the weak power supply, so I got the higher power supply. But I'm not entirely sure it would have been necessary. I only have it turned a bit past 25%, which is adequate. If I had to do it over again I would have gotten this lepai, for the remote and extra inputs. But I can't really fault it because I desire home theatre features. It does its job well.

Cheap Setup, but it looks cool! The real money was spent on the TV/Living area audio system.

lol, only ditch it if you think you will truly utilize the functions. The DC 500.1 on amazon should come with the 18ft balanced cable.. if not, you will need to buy one separately. http://www.amazon.com/Zapco-DC500-1-Monoblock-Amplifier-Processing/dp/B008JGLEGQ/ref=aag_m_pw_dp?ie=UTF8&m=A12S5FZEQM18OB#productDetails

The DPN software can be a bitch to load. You need to use USB 2.0. You need to install the software (BUT NOT OPEN IT) .. connect your laptop to the amp .. let the drivers install.. if it needs assistance then point it to the zapco driver folder.. then open the software. If you mess it up.. you need to uninstall the software and redo. Alternatively, get the DRC-SL controller.. that way you don't need a laptop. PM me if you do get it.. I can help you get this thing setup.

ive tried talking to crutchfield live support and they cant help lol.. would this work to power 1x 250rms 8ohm subwoofer? would i still need the crossover?

Here is the 20w one I currently have, here is the one I'm thinking about upgrading to.

I also noticed the SMSL SA50 50Wx2 TDA7492 Class D Amplifier but the lack of an eq on it makes me wary (I would be using Spotify, which to my knowledge does not have a built in EQ).

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Stereo receivers sure. All something needs to be a "stereo amp" is just a two channel amplifier.

Stereo Amplifier Example Also known as a power amp.

Stereo Receiver example.

EDIT: Receivers have an amplifier built in 99% of the time. This is a rectangles are not squares scenario.

Would this work?

Correct. You wouldn't need a component / composite cable splitter with the Micomsoft variant. You can also capture a PS3 with component, so you wouldn't need a splitter to strip the DRM, but component on PS3 is prone to ghosting, so I tend to stay away from capturing it with component.

You can make that existing wiring work for a 4 or 5 channel amp. You would just need to run the outputs back up to the radio harness or to each door. This makes it easy: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004H1KAMQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_uP6rDb766M3Y5

I just used this for a budget build recently. It would work with your speaker choices. At a 400$ budget you could do it and the 4 speakers and the speed wire. It will be loud. But you'll want to add a sub to it at some point for the low end that youll be missing

Sure thing! It's the Qinpu Q-2, a nice tube amp out of China. I'd like to say that I bought it purely on its technical merits, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that the form factor was what really swayed me.
