We just use this treat to distract him while we clip. He loves it so much you can hold him on his back and he'll hold the treat for himself, like a baby with a bottle. (This doesn't work for claw trims, though, since he needs both paws to hold it.) But my cat is pretty laid back about the whole thing and I can do it without the treat if he's calm and I'm quick about it (and patient about restarting when he starts to fidget), so I don't know if it will work as well for you. In the long run, if you get him to associate claw trims with positive things like a tasty treat, it will make things much easier.

It's from amazon! It was super easy and I just added some gel food coloring to a portion of the included frosting for decoration :) My tux was diving into it, tabby not so much.

My cat absolutely loved eating at my house plants so I got her one of these to put in the window she lays in. She really loves it : ) and it's supposed to be good for their stomachs but if your Cat is interested in plants you should get her her own for under $10

I'm taking care of my brother's two cats while he's deployed, and they eat SO much. It's this little bugger's fault. He's a food vacuum. But he really is, wait for it, (wo) Man's best friend.

Ha! I bet it would be funny to watch our dogs see each other on leash, given that they're probably BEST FRIENDS in each other's eyes.

Here's what I have found are "high value" dog treats:

• Trader Joe's beef liver treats: These are dry, but soft enough you can put them in your pocket and tear a little off at a time. They also come in chicken flavor.
  
• Freeze dried beef liver: I'm not sold on any particular brand, but these work.
  
• Sliced lunch meat (for humans). Not easy to keep in your pocket, but if that's what works, then you put it in a plastic bag or something.
  
• Leftover chicken. (Again, you have to figure out how to carry it.)

Its called Ciao Cat Lick - this one. Its pretty expensive per ounce, so I'm going to try this one and see if its as good.

Interesting, mine are allergic to poultry and peas, and all the First Mate fish-based foods are safe. The canned foods are simple fish (plain tuna, or salmon) and the fish kibble just has fish, potatoes, and blueberries besides the supplements. I'm just hoping none of mine come up with a fish oil allergy!

As for the treats, fluffy kitty was willing to try or eat most of them, but my picky kitty would only eat the VitalCat ones, or the WildSide freeze dried salmon (which are the tiny samples you can't read the brand of.) Those are both pure freeze dried salmon, which is nice, but I still have to cut them into smaller sizes for picky kitty.

Not much more to add that that... like i said, it smells horrible, and the cats won't even touch it. I have a finicky older cat and hoped this would help him eat better, but alas, this was a waste of money.

My baby girl is 11, we feed her wet food in the morning but she always has dry food available. Her old owners were quite neglectful so she has really bad teeth that make it hard to eat sometimes. When she's losing weight I give her this and she absolutely loves it, although I have to stand and watch her eat it or her brother will steal it!
