Congratulations OP! You've probably heard more than enough already, but here's my two cents. Your figure is great, but that dress design is all over the place. I saw the design on Amazon and it didn't seem to fit the model well either.

I don't think that's the best design or fit for your figure. I'd go with something sleeveless or a streamlined with sleeves - the current one makes your shoulders look too broad. I'd also go with a looser fit around the middle. This current dress is way too tight and unflattering for your hip area. Maybe an A-line fit and flare? With a shorter hemline - your legs are too great to hide like that.

You absolutely can go with a sheath dress as well, but maybe not this one? Maybe one that ends a little below the knee with some looser drapery and no ribbon around your middle. I would avoid a ribbon around your middle if you're going with a sheath dress. You don't need it with a sheath. Your figure is great, so I hope you can find a suitable dress to flatter it. Congratulations again on your graduation!

Here's my suggestions. Sorry, I don't know your size and didn't want to assume. And it's OK if they're not your style - what matters most is the fit, even a cute style won't work if it doesn't fit right.

Hello everyone! I am in need of some more of your excellent advice.

Here is the lowdown. Our anniversary is in about 60 days. My wife, loves her shoes and somewhat jokingly, but with that wink-wink not so subtle hint that most guys need she sent me this photograph. Now I know she certainly does not expect these at all, but I know she'd love to rock them, so being the guy I am, I ordered a pair for her. Now, I am smart enough to know that if I am going to buy these shoes then I may as well complete the ensemble and this is where I need help.

Should I....

a) Get a dress this this because it is practical and I know she'd wear it again

b) Perhaps this dress since it is a little more "lacey" ...

c) Maybe this dress (seems a bit cheap), but I think she really rock that dress and it has subtle yet sultry look to it.

d) I think this is where I will get in trouble, but those shoes are pretty unique and it is an anniversary gift. Is something like this just to "typical guy" --- I love her in lingerie like this, but I realize that is for me and not necessarily for her. However since we are on a Batman theme perhaps something like this outfit is fun and appropriate?

So I'm an amazon ho, so I found a few there. Not saying they're perfect but I tried, and I also have some other ideas below the shopping choices.
(Also, keep in mind, the dresses aren't gonna poof as much in real life without petticoats to hold them up, which Peggy wouldn't wear much of anyway.)

If you can't find the right vintage dress, you can get away with some other options if you want to go thrifting, etc..

For the first one you really need is a skirt suit in blue, preferably with a knee length (It could be a thrifted dress, with a blazer over it, you know, make it work. Just try to keep it in navy.) You can remove the buttons on the front and iron the crap out of the collar to give it a wider, more vintage vibe. Then add some fake buttons (sewing, fabric glue, hot glue, whatever your skill level) and just use safety pins to give it the fitted waist and keep it closed.

A plain white shirt with its collar over the collar of the suit adds more a vintage vibe.

Find an iconic hat like Peggy often has, and BAM. Peggy Carter.

If you can find it, carry around a briefcase (it might be a continuity error, but you could put the S.h.i.e.l.d crest on it to really make people get the point.)

Some plain (lower) black heels are fine. (T-straps are better, but don't stress)

The other one I have in mind is Peggy carter from the Captain America movie, where she's still in military dress. I'm not suggesting full on military dress though.

Now, for this one it's simple. Get yourself a plain skirt, knee length (it can be a pencil) in a a dark green or military green. If you can't find that, thrift one in lighter color like khaki and dye it. Then, just add a flowy white blouse, simple heels, and bam. Roll up a map of the allied troop movements, and done.

Don't forget the red lipstick and the victory curls, and you are good to go.

I honestly think it would be appropriate. It doesn't say black tie or even black tie optional. I agree, the sleeves skew a little informal to me. But accessories, hair, and makeup will always make or break it. So does how it fits on you- a less formal dress that suits and fits you always looks better then a fancy dress that is too tight/short/loose/etc.

I agree that a bridesmaid dress would give you the best indication, but so does locale. Can you look up the venue and see how ritz it looks- maybe check the knot or wedding wire? I think you can wear it if you style it right. Put on some glam earrings or necklace, a great bag, go all out on your hair and makeup. Regardless, I would be surprised if you felt under dressed in that dress. If you are feeling like it might not work and have the time/Amazon prime, maybe try a few other wrap dresses/best sellers? These have saved my ass before, and as long as you can get a sense of the material often loo quite nice. Always peep for pics of real people in the reviews to get a true sense, I pass on anything that doesn't have user photos.

Hello! So recently I was told that I would be going to the yearly National Sales Conference in LA this April with the rest of my department and that there would be a couple of fancy dinners. I have never been to one of these before so I’m a bit lost on how to dress. My manager told me that it’s a dress or pantsuit event for women. For dresses, this and this were what I was thinking of but any advice would be appreciated!
