I have one of these Plano boxes and I really like it. There's a large area on top that fits tools (wire strippers, crimpers, tweezers, desoldering supplies, etc), and then three drawers. The two bottom drawers are double-depth, so they fit prototyping supplies like jumper wires, breadboards, etc very well.
I've since outgrown that box but bought a four-pack of these Plano 3700 boxes. Apparently that is a pretty standard size and other companies make holders and stuff for them if you end up with a ton of them.
For smaller components (SMD) these tiny little boxes are great. One of those boxes holds a whole reel of 5,000 0603-sized resistors. Some people also use small paper envelopes to hold their components.
Let me just say you're so awesome for doing this! If you're still doing this, could you please get me these little envelopes? If yes, I'll PM you my address. These and any old binder will do! I just germinated 3 year old seeds with a high success rate that were stored in this way. Just gotta make sure they're totally dry before storing
Hey, best of luck to you! Also, the envelopes do come in smaller quantities if someone wanted to help but didn't have $15 handy (ships Prime too) - https://www.amazon.com/JAM-PAPER-Business-Colored-Envelopes/dp/B01MR3F63X/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=key%2Benvelopes&qid=1555441751&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&rnid=2470954011&rps=1&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1
I use #1 coin envelopes for trading small seeds. I get them for free from my brother, who is really into metal detecting and uses them to store small finds (jewelry, buttons, and well, coins.) If I had to buy them myself I'd probably get something cheaper (and more waterproof, come to think of it.)
I wonder if you could get a little credit card sized envelope that you could stuff in your wallet...might work as long as the pills don't get crushed. Maybe something like this:

Dang, that's pretty nice.
I'm pretty sure what he had were literally thousands of these, plus appropriately-sized boxes so they could sit vertically. All marked with their contents.
Not nearly as beautiful, but a whole lot cheaper.
For small components I use coin envelopes. I write the contents on the flap and then stand them up in long, narrow boxes that I keep in a drawer. It's super cheap and takes almost no space.
These look promising

I keep mine in paper coin envelopes inside of a ziplock freezer bag in the freezer.
The envelopes are something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Small-Envelope-Gummed-Office-50162/dp/B000Y50ZD8
I bought a box of 500 about 10 years ago in an office supply store and I still have about 400 left.
would this work? https://www.amazon.com/Small-Parts-White-Envelopes-SY425/dp/B007EWM4JW
That's the official account! The envelopes are just regular #4 coin envelopes. You can find them on amazon or other office supplies places.
I like them because the parts slide right out. No struggling to coach the last part out from the corner of a plastic baggie. I have a file system they fit... not sure what it was originally intended for or where I picked it up. Time or recipe cards, perhaps.
I use #3 kraft envelops like these. https://www.amazon.com/Acko-Brown-Kraft-Envelopes-3-5-Inch/dp/B01LCLTS1M
