Sounds like a good plan.

You've seen the LED tubes that have integrated daisy chaining ports, right? Like this set that has 8 tubes and all the plug and interconnect wires you could want.

I would go with something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07D8STGZC

I have a few of the 10 led version and they're great, but a tad dim. I like that they mount with a magnet so I can pop them off if I need light elsewhere.

I don't leave them on motion sensing mode so I'm not sure how long the battery lasts that way. I just use the switch and haven't had to charge them yet.

I just found another thread where someone was using a 5.8g Microwave Radar, which would even work through materials which would be amazing for my project.

Here's the other thread:

The video of it in action:

Here's something similar I found on Amazon:

Even easier way to do this. Take existing fixture out, and replace it with an outlet receptacle. Then use linkable 4 foot led shop light fixtures, like these. I'm in the middle of completely rewiring my garage at the moment, and this is how I'm doing the lighting because it's a whole lot less wiring.

What it this one here ? We have one my parents gave me years ago and it is amazing!

u/DrivenToPew · 1 pointr/AutoDetailing

I keep seeing advertisements everywhere for this like LED light thing that is shaped like a clover. Like three pieces that bend outward and can be directed to put light where you need it.

Anyone own this here?

Something like this? These are wired into your normal lighting or electrical circuits, when they lose power, they automatically switch on. Without spending a ton of money on it, these are the best I've found. There are some others that last 24hrs, but they're a few hundred dollars.

I saw a recent post of someone replacing a metal halide with this and they loved it...his IG handle is ‘toolsbydesign’. He’s a DIYer/tool enthusiast and had nothing but good things to say

Buy a 12 volt dc / 120 volt ac version of an emergency light. Use the charging circuit board from inside the back up light unit. Re-purpose it for your own creation.

STI makes vinyl-coated wire cages for various purposes. For any cameras requiring battery changes, it might be necessary to modify cages with some sort of padlock:
https://www.amazon.com/Safety-Technology-International-STI-9730-Stopper%C2%AE/dp/B00HWY0TLM
Hiding the cameras in a well-secured birdhouse or similar enclosure might work. Wish the manufacturers would all come up with a rock solid way to get all the cameras locked down.

I understand trying to find something here in Canada without always having to deal with the border or the shitty dollar or the foreign transaction fees.

The best amazon deal I have found so far is this LED "T5" six pack of shop lights for $60. I might use one or two for other things, but at least 4 will be for expanding seedling/over wintering areas.

You might be better served with some daylight LED utility shop lights:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CJQH2BW

Bright as hell, easy to install, no heat output, and they sip electricity. Couple that with a 20 year lifespan, and they are hard to beat.

u/xxYoloSwagginzxx · 2 pointsr/woodworking

Why don't you run some hanging fixtures between joists? I snagged a few of these:

  • Lithonia Lighting SHLP 48-Inch... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071DK5NP2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

They're in my shop and they're lightweight and weren't incredibly expensive. I did a half-ass daisychain with them and had solid results.

Ultimately I would suggest getting something between the joists so that you don't have to worry about hitting fixtures or strips with that low ceiling.

Yup: Hyperikon LED Vapor Proof Fixture 70W (150W Eq), 7100Lm, 4000K (Daylight Glow), https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ENWKQ5O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_rOpVCbRZ1GC6E

Personally, I would get some work grade hearing protection ear muffs:

https://www.amazon.com/Weize-Protection-Defenders-Reduction-Certified/dp/B01MRH8B6N/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1496638412&sr=8-8&keywords=work+hearing+protection

And then wear a decent pair of in-ear monitors under them for music.

These are what I use, they all link together which makes for less wires. I will post pictures of my set up on my profile rn

u/BarbaricGnome28 · 7 pointsr/AirBnB

We purchased this set from Amazon, as we occasionally have weather related outages. There is an option for it to be off unless there is no power. HTH
