External touchpads exist

Though I'm not surprised since all search engines just redirect people to Apple Magic Touch when they search for external touchpads.

Take into account people with poor motor skills may want a external touchpad if they got a desktop but not a laptop.

They had planned one, and even did a limited initial production run. I remember some being auctioned off about a month or two after the firesale. Very, very limited numbers.

May I ask why? Are you in an environment where the noise could be a problem? Recording maybe? Are you more concerned with the movement of the ball itself or the clicking of the buttons?

My Huge is very quiet, though the buttons do click. If that's too much you might consider switching to a touchpad for the purpose, it's hard to imagine anything quieter than that.
