Question about alterations. How easily can I alter a pair of pants made of 60% Polyester / 33% Cotton / 7% Elastin Dyed Stretch?

I have these fabulous Giro commuter pants, but the waist band is way too big on my size 6 (probably need to take them in at least an inch or more). I'm thinking about ordering a size 4 to compare, but they fit fine in the legs, so it might make more sense for me to get these tailored if I can.

Thoughts?

I am an instructor and swear by these very affordable padded leggings. The padding is stitched seamlessly into the fabric so there is less of a diapery effect. Plus they’re comfortable! BALEAF Women's Bike Pants 3D... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0752FNRJK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Thanks! The no underwear alone would be a game changer lol. Have you tried cycling leggings? It's kind of cold out, and I still prefer leggings at the gym since I work out after class. Can you still go undies-free in something like https://www.amazon.com/XGC-Womens-Cycling-Trousers-Legging/dp/B07H1PM5NL/ or https://www.amazon.com/Baleaf-Womens-Compression-Cycling-Waistband/dp/B0752CTJJX/? Are the seams a bad sign, or does it not matter because of the cushioning?
