Okay, I'm going to be honest here... Viper is one of the most overpriced brands there is. I would avoid like the plague! But since you already have them, no harm no foul.

Normally I would say avoid buying in the US completely but in this case Amazon just so happens to have some great deals going on for the last few weeks.

These

These

These

Or these

All of those are incredible deals but it's just an ongoing sale they've been having. Otherwise I would steer you in the direction of Darts Corner. https://www.dartscorner.co.uk/index.html

You can check out their clearance section for awesome Unicorn Golden darts for $13. 90 or 95% tungsten too!! Also have a look at the soft tip Designa darts. Some unreal deals there... https://www.dartscorner.co.uk/index.php?cPath=282_822

Also, in the future when you're looking to buy stems, flights and new soft tip points I would highly recommend Darts Corner. If you buy in bulk (10 or more) you can get awesome nylon stems for 18 cents a set!! Flights are about 40 cents a set. We really get nailed in the USA with flights and stems and you'll pay about 5x that for ONE set.

You listed a bunch of knurled darts and while that is an extremely popular grip style that's only seen in the USA the best players in the world use a simple multi ring design like the ones I linked on Amazon. But honestly, you can do a lot better than Viper.

If you can't drill holes in a wall a paper wound board may be your only real option, but those cheap boards will deteriorate very fast. A week of regular play and you will need a new one. You might actually be better off buying a cheap electronic board, those can be pretty light, and they may stay up with a few 3m strips. Then you don't have to worry about the board falling apart, and if you play with soft tips, you won't worry about missing and putting a hole in the wall that you weren't allowed to put a hole in.

If you are allowed to drill a hole, the most cost effective way to play steel tip darts is to get a board like this that will last 100 times longer (that isn't even an exaggeration) than a paper wound board but only cost about twice as much.

When I just wanted a regulation size cheapo board to practice on I ended up with a Viper 777 for ~$50.

It's been fine for me, registers every dart(though I rarely turn it on for practicing) and no more bounce outs than any other board I've used. But it's not great if you want to play with a bunch of friends. Handles 2 people fine but doesn't display everything in perfect detail, like it doesn't show what your individual round score was after all 3 darts. If you just want a cheap full-sized board to practice on it's great, if you want to play all night with friends spend some more money on one of Jake's suggestions.

u/shakeyjake · 4 pointsr/Darts

You have a few options any many will depend on your needs and budget.

Many have said the Dartslive 100s is the best electronic home dart board. $199

I have a Arachnid Cricket Pro that I am happy with($149). It actually used to be Chris Pratt's board but that's another story.

If you don't need it to be electronic then maybe get a steel tip board and some conversion tips for your soft tip darts. The Blade 4 is my favorite board($56) and Puma makes a steel tip board with soft tip sized segments($42.50).

You can even get a non-electronic soft tip board for cheap.

The full electronic versions will keep score, handle multiple players and have other game options like count up etc. They will also have a computer opponent to play against.

u/presidentnixon · 1 pointr/GetMotivated

Darts. You can always go for a higher score, try to hit only prime numbers, etc. Put on some music and play darts in your basement. Or find a pub with a cheap or free to play dartboard. You don't have to talk to anyone if you don't want to, you don't even need to buy a bunch of drinks. Its cheap to start playing, too. Entry level darts are about $15 bucks, and if you want to play at home, you can buy this or something like it for less than $50.

If you're determined to buy only from Amazon, go to Red Dragon's Amazon page, look through Amberjacks and Flightmasters (or search Amazon under "Red Dragon Amberjacks" or "Red Dragon Flightmasters"), and pick one that appeals. Since you're beginning, I recommend something with a straight barrel, anything that strikes you from, say, 21-26 grams.

But be advised that you can also buy darts from Red Dragon on eBay and from their own site, and both alternatives are significantly cheaper.

Here are just some of the ones I'd recommend for a beginner, but be sure to look through them all on the Amazon site:

All quality darts. I've been playing darts since 1990 and have never felt the need for an expensive set. To show you that I believe in my recommendation, you could go to my Twitter page and look through my pictures to see what I throw, or you could see the ones I use myself here, from the same brand as what I'm suggesting to you: https://www.amazon.com/Red-Dragon-Amberjack-Tungsten-Checkout/dp/B005ZSSONM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1483209625&sr=8-3&keywords=red+dragon+amberjacks

Hi folks -

u/chuckdeezoo beat me to this question for the day... and instead of creating a new post, I'll just piggyback... or perhaps Robin hood onto his topic. ;-)

So the question I have and perhaps, this might help u/chuckdeezoo also...

What's the better way to go for Winmau boards? The standard Blade 5 or the Dual Core Blade 5?

Winmau Blade 5 is on sale for $65 (US)

The Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core is $89 (US)

Any thoughts on the difference?

Thanks!!

Haha...I actually just switched points on these darts about 20 minutes ago to 38mm and kinda liking them with these at the moment. But yeah, below are the links on Amazon. NOTE; I got 10 Sets of the 53mm and just know that I measured them and they are actually 51mm in length.
They also have 43mm available on Amazon from the same seller and I included those links also, I got 10 sets of these to try too. Also note that a few of the listings are Free Shipping. And I had to order separately because when I tried to order together they wanted to charge shipping.

That'd be him. He's mostly retired now but throws on occasion. He's the best darter I've seen in person, including Lim, when motivated. Unfortunately he was partially motivated last night and he kicked my ass using darts somewhat like these

u/cornynibblets · 2 pointsr/Darts

My buddy and I were also experiencing the same problem. Ended up getting a blade 5 and viper surround from Amazon. I can't recommend them enough.

However, if you don't have the means (or patience) to save money and wait to get a board, I almost bought one of these:
Use the force

The only downside, is the color scheme isn't traditional.
But from what i've heard...they are pretty decent.

Another option is the Viper boards on Amazon Meh!

Although...if you are going to spend $35...you might as well spend $60 and not have to replace for a while longer.

I just ordered the tempest from the UK as it was roughly the same price. I also the in a set of Sky Pro's for kicks ;D.

Really want that 4 pack deal though! And I know it's a gamble, but I really like the "torpedo" style RD's. They're like $30 on amazon.com..

u/BenjaminGeiger · 1 pointr/Darts

I bought these Red Dragon Caldera darts which I'm pretty sure are the same thing. They're comfortable.

u/somethinggooddammit · 1 pointr/Darts

Just got a set of these guys: https://www.amazon.com/Red-Dragon-Apollo-18g-Tungsten/dp/B00J09CQCW

Pretty happy with them, especially for the price and prime shipping. My Designa Elite 95s feel a bit more solid, but still good stuff.

u/counterplex · 4 pointsr/aiclass

I think the key point to understand is that the continuous doesn't refer to the way you do things but the end state.

In the case of the darts the dart can land on any point on the dart board in a continuous fashion i.e. for any two points on the board the dart can land between them much like between any two numbers on the number line there are is an infinite series of numbers.

In the case of the coin toss the coin will either land heads up or tails up. There is no middle condition. Those are the only two distinct possibilities.

Here's the final point that might help bring those two examples into better contrast. An electronic dart board (see this image at Amazon and use the Zoom buttons to zoom in), which consists of a holey plastic "board" is also discrete because the darts in this game can only land in one of the holes in the board.

I might have confused you further. My apologies.

u/10noop20goto10 · 1 pointr/woodworking

Looks great!

I highly recommend upgrading to a Blade 5 (or v4) dartboard though. I can see that the spider (metal wires that divide the board into segments (for anyone not familiar) is starting to lift up around the bullseye. This leads to more bounce outs. Once you go with a Blade, it's tough to go back to a the older style boards.

u/IronP3 · 1 pointr/DartsTalk

Looks like Amazon is bumping the prices up a little on the Chinooks, but a few One80 darts are back below $25 with free one day shipping.

Thanks! I bought a Gladiator II board and those red dragon darts. I was going to get the blade5, but this seemed like a really good deal on the gladiator. Obviously not great darts, but I will use the scoreboard I suppose.

gladiator II

Great, waiting for the post.
Sadly, I live in Egypt and there are no dart stores here. I depend on the posts to have an opinion before ordering something from Amazon.

I ordered one80 A-24g @ Nov 6th I think it is supposed to arrive next week. Hopefully.

I just bought a 4 set case on Amazon that has plenty of storage space for flights, and 5 compartments for holding all my shafts and another section for holding my miscellaneous stuff like O-Rings, flight protectors, repair tool etc.

And of course can hold 4 sets of darts.

I have a set en route; Colin Osbornes I believe. Will post pics when I get them; hopefully in the next 2-3 days.

I agree with all others about getting darts across the pond. If you dont want to do that, I have these https://amzn.com/B01LZMUCXS and they are in your price range. This cheaper than you can get them from dartscorner.

There’s bound to be Black Friday deals on something over the next 2 days...so far there’s this One80 Gladiator II for $45, and I read somewhere that the Winmau Blade 5 was $28 last year during Black Friday??

Hold out for just a bit, it could be worth ur while

u/DeputyWicked · 3 pointsr/Darts

You guys are a bad influence lol. I had to order a set and get in on this deal. I got in on the soft tip 4 packs but not the steel tip ones so thanks for the info! Also found the same deal on Amazon Canada but restrictions didn't allow to have them shipped to me from Canada. Here's the link for any of you Canadians up North.

https://www.amazon.ca/Red-Dragon-Darts-Tungsten-Value/dp/B00A3RW7OM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=red+dragon+value+pack&qid=1574611824&sr=8-1

u/Murraymurstein · 2 pointsr/Darts

The big case is my favorite. Holds four full sets but I usually carry two or three sets and extra Robson flights. https://www.amazon.com/Casemaster-Carrying-Numerous-Accessories-Generous/dp/B0002AOS10/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=dart+cases+for+multiple+sets&qid=1565052093&s=gateway&sprefix=dart+c&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

I don’t remember where the metal case came from, it holds a fully assembled set with normal flights but not Robsons, since they don’t bend. I use the soft case with the brown badge two to the right for carrying one set. It has a hard plastic insert to hold the darts and keep the flights from bending out of shape. https://www.amazon.com/Casemaster-Plastic-Flexible-Covering-Flights/dp/B003ZYZVS4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=dart+master+case&qid=1565052418&s=gateway&sprefix=dart+master&sr=8-3 that’s a very similar version also made by Casemaster.

RE: The four packs on Amazon from Red Dragon

Mine arrived a few minutes ago as I was leaving the house. Here is what I recieved.. I'd bought two sets.

Three identical pairs and then the two on the left. I won't be able to get them weighed and assembled until tomorrow.

u/DeepFreeze180 · 2 pointsr/DartsTalk

first repointing attempt: https://m.imgur.com/AnF7WhT

I don’t have a before picture because I am not much of a planner.

The darts are some of the Amazon 24g One80s that have been discussed here before.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XXK2QCS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_rL2QCbC6BQFK7

They came with short silver points Which I got tired of scuffing up constantly so I swapped in some longer gold points from DC clearance corner.

Used the Designa re-pointing tool. Worked very well and seems to be a very firm hold with no Loctite needed.

However I tried another re-pointing immediately afterward with some harrows laser etched points and some V180 Brian Woods darts, and the points fell out almost immediately afterward lol. So I am 1 for 2 and some loctite is on my shopping list.

*edited to add link for the darts

u/IvanZhukov · 1 pointr/Darts

This is a classical dart style that is manufactured by several brands and we had a post about them not to long ago.

Red Dragon Amberjacks are very similar to and rather cheap. Those in 24g were my first own farts. Solid darts, but in the end not grippy enough and too thin for my taste. The grip on the knurled part wore off with time, too.
