Thank you so much! :D I'll pass along your compliments to our flower crew. They used these oasis floral cages and a number of clear zipties to hold everything in place. Brilliant as they are, they made them easily reusable and moved them into the dance area after the ceremony so that we could enjoy the arrangements all night :)

thank you! the pattern isn't what you're expecting; I basically crocheted a very long shell edging (think like ch. 100 or w.e, sc in first stitch, skip 1 stitch, hdc 3 times in next, skip 1 stitch, then sc in next.) and attached it to a floral cone (similiar to this: https://www.amazon.com/Oasis-Floral-Foam-Cone-Maxlife/dp/B005C40YZU). for mine I just got some pretty pins with pearls on the ends from walmart and stabbed it into the cone. I'm sure there are better ways to attach it, like hot glue or whatever, but I liked the way the pearls kinda looked like lights.

it's really easy to work up, assembly takes no more than five minutes, and it's sturdy. definitely don't let kids near it though.

A "thingy" to help hold flowers straight or in the design you desire.

Like this: https://www.amazon.com/Flower-Round-Holder-Arranger-Holde/dp/B07QG3BFMM/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=B07QG3BFMM&qid=1571589525&sr=8-1

Or this: https://www.amazon.com/Jarware-Flower-Frog-2-Pack/dp/B0744JPMQJ/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=B0744JPMQJ&qid=1571589616&sr=8-1

In the case of "integrated frog", the person posting means rather than something you add to a vase like I provided in the second link, it is built in to the vase instead.

So the impression of the OP was that this was a cup of some kind with the square pattern of holes, and the replying poster is saying it is really a vase with a "frog" and in this case the "frog" is built into the vase rather than being a separate piece.

(Typically (but not always) "frogs" are not built in....you add a "frog" to something else so you can use that thing as a vase)

You can buy oasis blocks for arch arrangements (garlands: https://www.amazon.com/Oasis-Floral-Foam-Netted-Garland/dp/B0077BPERY singles: http://www.modernwedding.com.au/wedding-diy-build-a-floral-wedding-arch/), but I still wouldn't recommend hanging them up more than a few hours in advance. You can put the bouquets in a vase just like floral arrangements.

The thing you're trying to avoid is your vase being too wide, or your flowers too spindly, and they all just slump down and to one side. The need for tape depends greatly on how wide-mouthed your vases are, and how full/fluffy your flowers are. Are your vases transparent? Another option instead of the tape is to use floral foam (also called Oasis foam). If your vases are opaque this would be a good option, but it's not suitable in transparent vases.

I use those green floral styrofoam blocks. Only problem is they tend to leave this weird dust/powder behind sometimes. They've got a good weight and size though so you can fit a lot of pieces on them without tipping it over... though I have tipped one over while painting and been very mad at myself.

Noodle are not a bad idea, but could be chewed I think.

Try buying those firmer foam blocks like these and inserting them (they can be cut also with a sharp knife).

You can place them either a bit under the couch so they are not visible or spray paint.

Then also spray them with a spay in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_QNPkPbqDk to make them extra unattractive to chew.

______________

You can also buy wooden planks in home depot and use those right under the couch (just get them cut to size such that they fit snugly).

Floral foam does float, until it absorbs a lot of water and you jam a lot of flowers and greenery in it.

This is a case of 20 bricks of floral foam, each 3" x 4" x 8", or 96 cubic inches times 20 = 1920 cubic inches. It weighs 3.1 pounds, which seems to include the cardboard box and possibly plastic wrap, but we'll have to disregard that for now. ((3.1 * 16) / 1920) = 0.026 ounces per cubic inch of foam. The density of water is 0.6 ounces per cubic inches, so the foam is far less dense than water: 1920 cubic inches of water would weigh (0.6 * 1920) = (1120 / 16) = 70 pounds exactly.

2200 pounds of floral foam would have a volume of ((2200 * 16) / 0.026) = 1,353,846 cubic inches, or a cube 783 inches on a side, which is to say (783 / 12) = 65 feet on a side, give or take. The average length of a blue whale, depending on who you ask, is about 70 feet, so the image above looks a little out of proportion, but not wildly so, certainly not an order of magnitude. Maybe it's a very young whale. If we weighed floral foam on its own, with no wrapping of any sort (and I am not prepared to go out and get some to test this), we might find that it weighs enough less than our assertion of 3.1 pounds to make this picture perfectly accurate.
