He even might use some training aid during the lesson.

This is a good tool to use on your swinging to make sure your upper body is working in unison.

Check out some of these tools and look up some drills. I am sure you can find a few that would help your game. Good luck!
I'm a very avid DIY'er but I don't think that price is out of the question nearly to the extent people are complaining about it.
Angle iron (What the stand is made out of), 20$: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-in-x-96-in-Aluminum-Square-Tube-with-1-20-in-Thick-802537/204273939Edit: It's just more 1x4s, my mistake - total cost below updated (2x @ 4$).Not the shittiest/cheapest you can find Plywood? ~20$: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Sande-Plywood-Common-1-4-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-205-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-479023/100073744
Paint - White and Green (Lettering): Seems easy enough to get away with the cheapest stuff here, so: 8$ (2x "Sample Sizes" @ 3.94$ from Home Depot, probably would need 2x "sample sizes" for the white, but I'll stay conservative).
Chipping Matt x2 - ~20$/ea: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st_price-asc-rank?keywords=Chipping+Mat&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3AChipping+Mat&qid=1495570282&sort=price-asc-rank - Yes, I know you could buy a set of putting carpet for cheaper and cut it up, but chipping matts are significantly stronger than regular putting green surfaces, and realistically a "good" quality one should cost you at least ~25$.
Turf for the surface (Cheapest available, frankly I feel like theirs seems a little more padded than this, but for the purpose of costs...) ~21$: https://www.amazon.com/GREENSCAPES-209107-Grass-Rug-6-Feet/dp/B00LK2MIFC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1495570789&sr=8-2&keywords=Putting+Turf
1x4s for framing 4$x2 (One for each setup) Edit: : http://www.homedepot.com/p/1-in-x-4-in-x-8-ft-Premium-Kiln-Dried-Square-Edge-Whitewood-Common-Board-914681/100023465
Foam Balls (Lowest quality possible), ~12$ - didn't search too hard, but couldn't find less than a 12ct (And who wouldn't want a few spares with something like this): https://www.amazon.com/PrideSports-Practice-Balls-Count-Yellow/dp/B00466W9X0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1495570456&sr=8-1&keywords=Foam+Golf+Balls
Netting (Cheapest comparable that I found), ~12$: https://www.amazon.com/Lacrosse-Netting-Fishing-Nets-Length/dp/B013W40VS6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1495570637&sr=8-7&keywords=Netting
So all in all we're at 125$ not including any hardware (screws, nuts/bolts, brackets, etc) nor the tools that you might require to assemble the thing. You could also probably safely assume a shipping charge in the range of 20-40$ trying to mail a setup like this.
Sure, the guys making these things are buying in bulk and very likely aren't paying retail, but you would be paying retail prices. Let's also just forget the fact that all of the above doesn't account for any mistakes you might make along the way, requiring re-purchasing goods.
Frankly, I don't think this is a very good DIY project at all.
Edit: You could get away with "Two sheets of plywood" like you said (For the legs, frame, etc), but you'd want to buy much beefier stuff (~1/2" at least, 3/4" preferred): http://www.homedepot.com/p/Sande-Plywood-Common-1-2-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Actual-0-472-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-454532/100017950 - There's also Softwood Ply and Particleboard available, but frankly, I wouldn't touch the stuff (ESPECIALLY the latter) if I had any intention of using these on beaches, etc.
Edit2: Just noticed these things are plastic: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1557/3333/products/products_chippo_4_800x.jpg?v=1495158893
Whelp, fuck 'em. Looks like I'll be making my 150$ counterparts instead.
A friend of mine got one of these this winter, I played it once and it was a blast. I can not speak to its accuracy as I only played one round on it but I'm pretty sure it does give you some helpful information that could improve your game. As I recall it gives you stats like swing speed, tells you if you hit it of a toe or heel, if your swing is outside in or inside out.
I look forward to playing it some more this winter and If I had the room I would probably buy one for myself.
The only thing I would suggest is getting a mat to go with it, something like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Right-Handed-OptiShot-Virtual-Simulator/dp/B008EEB5O4/ref=sr_1_11?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1342997992&sr=1-11&keywords=optishot+mat
Granted I would shop around for price and find one cheaper but its a little tough to get used to hitting of the thing considering its an 1.5-2" off the ground, more so for me because i have a bad habit of hitting fat more often then I should.
Firstly, lemme just say you have a pretty nice swing. But there's a pretty obvious reason you're going outside-in on your downswing: You're going SUPER shallow on the takeaway, which promotes the opposite action after the transition. Eric Cogorno does an okay job explaining this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IigyNraZ7Vo

I've also had insane tempo issues. The $41 - SKLZ Gold Flex has removed tempo issues for me in a few days. It's the only warmup I do before a round. While waiting to hit tee shots through the round, I'll pull it out and make a few more swings.

I think you'll find that if you address your tempo issue, it'll really help with shallowing your club during the transition. You'll be in awesome shape in no time.
I bought a net at sports chalet for like $30. It's for ball golf, but it works perfectly. It's really best accompanied by a video camera, and going back and fourth between the video camera and the net for working on your form.
Also, I would advise going slow and steady if you're using a net. It's very easy to get a lot of drives in over the course of a few minutes -- something that your body isn't used to since you have to walk a lot (get a break) if you're using to throwing in a field.
ps: i couldn't find the net on their website, but here is the same thing (on amazon) -- http://www.amazon.com/Club-Champ-Golf-Practice-New/dp/B0002M0VQY/ref=sr_1_68?ie=UTF8&qid=1421257447&sr=8-68&keywords=golf+net
I will add that it's kind of a bitch to get setup, if you have someone to help it makes it a lot easier
I have this in my back yard. Basic idea is that I have two metal gardening stakes that are stuck in the ground for stability. Then I cut apart some 1/2" PVC pipe and bought some connectors to hook them together. I use a bag of zip ties to secure the net to the frame. Works great. I almost exclusively hit iron shots. Most swings are not at full power. But so far the durability has been great. This is my net.
The mat is a $150 B grade mat from eBay. I believe it was used at an outdoor driving range before. Works great. I'm outside with dirt underneath, so I have no issues with injury due to concrete.
Would recommend. I primarily use it to work on swing changes and mechanics with video recording. I love that I can hit balls at 11 p.m. or sometimes when I go home for lunch for just 15 minutes. Would recommend.
I got this last summer. I love it - definitely is a help when I can't get out to do field work. Very portable and easy to assemble/disassemble.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B079MDWGSB?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I bought this mat upon r/golf's recommendation and can confirm it's awesomeness. From all the reviews I've read, this is not just the best inexpensive mat, but the best golf mat out there period. After 5 months of heavy (daily) use, it shows no wear. Also, it REALLY grabs the club if you hit it fat, and/or behind the ball.
http://www.allturfmats.com/MonsterTee-Golf-Mats-s/36.htm
This is the net I bought. It's fucking huge and the quality is great, especially for less than $40.
http://www.amazon.com/Super-sized-Practice-Driving-Trainning/dp/B007ZLS9F0/ref=sr_1_12?s=golf&ie=UTF8&qid=1347416599&sr=1-12
In my opinion, you will not find a better net/turf combo for less money.
I swear this exists already. Maybe one of those novelty catalogues like Hemmacher Schlemmer.
edit: quick google shows this attachable laser: http://www.golfsmith.com/product/30098304/dead-aim-putters-2013-standard-putter-with-laser-module
Not a crazy idea. Checked a few forums and people seem to like them.

Another which attaches to the shaft http://www.amazon.com/Laser-Putt-golf-putting-aid/dp/B00GYSIA0O
Clearly these are practice aids. You'd look like Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack using one on the course. Not to mention visibility on a sunny day.
I use this net and love it:

Collapses down and disassembles easily, big enough to cover driver shots where you’re swinging from further back. Easily strong enough as well.
http://www.amazon.com/GolfTrainingAids-com-PUTTING-CONNECTION/dp/B004DEEZF0
The Putting Connection is really a simple piece of plastic but I've been using mine since 1996. Easily the best training aid I have used.
Sounds just like me. I work from the house and have a pretty flexible schedule and slowly losing control. On prime day I Bought one of the and set it up in the backyard. I don't really know why but it sounded awesome and it's going to just make me want to spend more money.
I got mine on amazon and it works fine
A99 Golf True Feel Super Thick... https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B018DPGJNA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
this guy is being oddly stubborn. Let me tell you as someone who actually has played a golf game with a move controller. IT IS THE BEST! i played tiger woods on the ps3 using a move and the eye toy and the Best accesory ever. The move sat at the bottom of the simstik , the weight was perfect, you could really do a proper swing. I could slice and draw at will. I still have that simstik, and im just itching for a chance to use it on a VR golf game.
i thought surely there would be at least a flat ps4 golf game using the move, but a las not.
Not knowing your budget, here are a few golf related gifts. Personalized golf balls, good ones (http://www.titleist.com/my-pro-v1) $60ish.

I have earlier versions of both the range finder and golf simulator and love them. Then again, I live in New England so snow keeps us off the course for a few months each year.

Haha, I love that you actually want more info on the net... SKLZ Quickster 6'x6' Golf Net with Target https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007SC1A0M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_HRixxb2YTSC3S that's what I use for golf/snakes. No complaints here.
I have this in the 6'x6' size. Works well, assembles quickly and can be broken down in just a couple minutes and includes a bag to store it in. I'd be careful using real balls on a roof top as from what I understand, almost any net with eventually get a hole in it. I use almost golf balls and use the net pretty much exclusively in my basement and haven't had any issues. Been hitting into it almost daily for about 5-6 months or so.
That's just one of the various PS3 Move Golf attachments. There's also the SKLZ Golf Simstix (which was posted by another user).
For those of us who are in the colder states (or countries), Amazon has OptiShot 2 on Lightning Deals for $239.99.
Seems to be right
