I used to swear by wodies because I loved the wrist support. I burned through two pairs of them, and still use them from time to time. But lately, I've been trying to get away from depending on the wrist support and just strengthen my wrists as I go. This led me to just getting these from Amazon for $16. After about a year, they're still holding strong! I'll buy them again https://www.amazon.com/Leather-Barbell-Gymnastics-WOD-Nation/dp/B00Y9Y8ARI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483716257&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=gymnastics+grips&psc=1

You only need chalk for false grip, i'd start training false grip hangs after you can do a couple pull-ups so muscle-ups are easier to learn. I bought this chalk but honestly any will do.

This stuff right here. They mix some kind of lotion in it so it keeps your hands from cracking and breaking open. Lathers on better than unicorn dust and is cheaper. Also it smells really nice.

u/dmillz89 · 1 pointr/bouldering

I use this because it's the cheapest on Amazon and chalk is chalk.

Lol the downvotes for the truth.

Farmers Walks are awesome, good choice!

Only athletic chalk. Not writing chalk or any sort of powder.

What I use:

http://www.amazon.com/American-Athletic-Hand-Chalk-Block/dp/B0045DFNQ4

One block lasts me a year. You can find it at almost any sporting goods store.

I love this for everything.

I got liquid hand chalk for lifting. It might be something you could use in combination with a glove. If you're having that much trouble keeping your hand dry that a towel doesn't work a glove might get too soaked after a few balls...but if you put this stuff on before you do the glove and check it after a few balls maybe...Hope you figure out something!

I make and sell liquid chalk, called Smart Chalk, with vitamin E. It's formulated to be 'layer forming' which makes it last considerably longer than traditional chalk.

I would strongly recommend buying some wrist gloves that are used by bodybuilders to lift weights. Check these out, they come with a grip part in the middle.

Not sure if there was multiple groups with a parachute but I did have a parachute that we used for hot boxing multiple times. We also busted it out a few times when it was raining at sets and all just danced under it.

Here is the one I have. It's only 12 feet in diameter. Found the smaller size is easier to carry around than some of the larger ones.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01JOW0VLW/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We had our group of 8 of us about with multiple other people joining us under it.

Did you hear about the movie Constipation? It hasn’t come out yet.

I really need these

I ripped my hand open again trying to do chin ups and kettlebell swings... This would make my day if I had these!

u/paperairplanerace · 10 pointsr/SweatyPalms

If you're not American or English isn't your first language, this would be a good time to point it out so these pedants shut up 'cos this is downright silly. Like sure nobody says "magnesia" here but people thinking chalk and magnesium are never one thing happen to be completely wrong

u/anarchophil · 1 pointr/ketogains

Train grip strength. On the days you don't deadlift, like squat and bench days, jump up and just hang on the pull up bar with one hand. Hold for as long as you can and then switch hands and repeat.

On submaximal deadlift days, hold on to the bar on the last rep of each set for a 10 count. Just hold it. Also, you said powder... I don't know what that means but use chalk or get some liquid chalk.

Sounds good to me, this parachute is only £18

gymnastics grips are specifically for this. Crossfitters like to use them too, since they do a lot of swinging

https://www.amazon.com/Gymnastics-Grips-Great-Kettlebells-CrossFit-Training/dp/B01KIFRGAI

alternatively, get better at false grip

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/nostalgia

You can! Looks like they have a few different ones, possibly in different sizes.

Edit: The one I linked is a 6' one, so on the small end. The one I remember from school was probably 12'.

u/grey_rock_method · 2 pointsr/Guitar

Try talcum powder or baby powder on you hands.

Or get a chalk ball (works well in a cotton sock for wiping your hands dry).

https://www.amazon.com/Chalk-Ball-oz-Powerlifting-Gymnastics/dp/B019WEOK1E/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1518038642&sr=8-9&keywords=climbing+powder

u/eleanor_ramilly · 2 pointsr/xxfitness

Nope! Just on the hands a little. I do a quick little bar wipe down, too, but you totally can't see it on the bar. This is the one I use.

u/gsamov2 · 2 pointsr/Fitness

Try this chalk.

u/thenewguyonreddit · 1 pointr/xxfitness

Guy here:

Calluses are caused by moisture/friction/abrasion.

What you need is weightlifting chalk.

Consider purchasing this little guy: http://www.amazon.com/Refillable-Gymnastics-Climbing-Weight-Lifting/dp/B003GPVB86/ref=sr_1_6?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1319758971&sr=1-6

u/kono_hito_wa · 1 pointr/climbing

To add to u/missprincesscarolyn's response, here's a link to gym chalk. It's Amazon but really should be able to get this at any sporting goods store. Just put a chunk in your bag that's manageably sized and rub your hands on that; I used it in my bag for a long time because I thought the alternatives were overly expensive and messy.
