My sincerest condolences for your loss =( Losing someone suddenly is incredibly difficult to deal with.
Something that would be incredibly awesome to have would be a PUR water filter. I'm trying to get healthy and a lot of that has to do with drinking more fluids, especially more water, but I hate tap water where I live. It is hard and I can see the minerals and grit in it. Something else that would be great is a laundry hamper. Something that helps keep my anxiety down is having a clean room/apartment and a sorting laundry hamper would save a lot of time. Finally, I love cooking and might even open a restaurant one day, so this knife would be great to have =)
Thanks for such an amazing contest and I hope you get your debit card soon!!!! Sort my priorities!
It is her main issue -- I found a more attractive laundry sorter (this one --> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00T04MPIC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_DfqGDbQ1DGJ0M) that she likes okay, and she said she'd be fine with me storing my pills in spice jars of all things, lol. But that's not my main concern with this post, although I understand how it would have come across that way. We're both college students, and I'm a music performance major (cellist, if anyone's curious -- my girlfriend is an English major w/ a French minor), which means I need on average 3-4 hours of quality practice time six days a week, and more if I can get it. My ADHD makes transitioning from activity to activity very difficult under certain circumstances -- no matter what it is, I have to stay active until I'm done for the day, even when taking breaks (for example, playing a round or two of a card game is much better than sitting on the couch and watching an episode of TV, which usually turns into two or three and kills my momentum), and I can't have any distractions during my activies (ex., I can't have the TV or music on in the background when doing homework, or cooking, or just trying to pack up my bags to get out the door, and I can't hold a conversation or even listen to someone speaking). My girlfriend and I both lead very busy lives, so we don't get a ton of alone time together, so whenever one of us gets home when the other is already there, she usually wants to unwind for a bit with me, and for her that usually means an episode of TV or chilling for 20 minutes on the bed, or making a run to Target. All of those are reaaaaaally bad news for me, which I've been doing better about reminding her of and coming up with alternatives, but some days I just can't stop until I accomplish what I need to because I will crash and burn if I do. And THAT'S my biggest concern, because I understand -- I love her more than anything, so of course I want to spend time with her, too, but the way I need to go about it can be very difficult for her to accept, especially when she's had a very rough day and needs just a few moments to be happy with me at home before she can go about her business. Days like that are my biggest concerns; how do I adhere to my own needs when they conflict with hers without putting my foot down? Or, how do I put my foot down without being aggressive when she's being pushy because her emotional needs aren't being met for that day? I never yell at her, even in my worst moments I'm generally very gentle, but moments like this can be very difficult for me, and I know there has to be a better way.
I freaking hate laundry. I have three kids and my SO who works overtime every week. I work weekends but I end up doing at least 95% of the laundry. I am still terrible about it but here are some things that help me.
Yes, I love those laundry things that have three different sorting places (whites, lights and darks). And we had one that even had a little ironing table on top (like this one )which is really useful on the go or if you’re like me fiancé that irons his shirt every morning.
I think that's a cool idea. He's about to be 11 right? That's a really good age for learning to do his laundry, you're a great mom for teaching him IMO. Instead of laundry baskets why not one of these things and then you also have one for bedding or towels or whatever third type of laundry you have him sorting? I'm getting one for myself and my kid... and maybe even my brother. lol
If you don't already have one, get a small hangable toiletry bag (like this one). Hang it up in your room (or bathroom if it's in your room), and it keeps all of your toiletries in one place. And when you travel to visit home, a friend's house, or anywhere else, just zip it up and your good to go. Then you won't have to worry about forgetting a tooth brush, razor, or whatever, because everything's already in the bag. It's super convenient, and one of the best things I've ever bought.
Solidarity on laundromat life. I have a nice laundromat near me, so I was lucky I didn't have to hunt for one. Mine is large, takes credit cards, is clean, always has an attendant, and has a parking lot. Some tips:
These hampers are great! Makes laundry time much easier.
Three tips
My favorite lube/cleaner

This isn't a bad little cleaning kit, I keep it in my shotgun bag. Same kit multiple names it's sold under.

I also have a boresnake.

By no means is this what you have to have. If you look around the Ballistol is highly liked for firearms, it has always worked wonders for me. I always clean my guns everytime I shoot them, personal preference.
Does he have a laundry sorter? I use something from Amazon that has 4 bags so I can put my glass, drying, washing, and interior/low concern towels in. Makes it easy to keep them separated and move around along with grab bags to take to washer and dryer. I'll see if I can find a link.

I can’t speak to BIFLness of this, but I bought the amazon basics version and it had radically simplified my laundry process

Yep, I have a triple laundry sorter that I use as a hamper: one bin for darks, one for lights, and one for workout clothes only! I also do cold, no fabric softener, no dryer sheets either. They all still seem like new.

Here's an example
White one for $29.
Which is exactly why ours is separate, simplicity.
Hers in her laundry sorter in her closet & I have the same setup in mine.
No muss, no fuss, no nonsense.. not that reading labels is really all that hard.
