Now I love, love, love Geocaching! I can go more into detail about this if you haven't heard of it or are interested. We're actually planning on going tomorrow to the big State Park down the road with the puppies. They love to hike around and get dirty.

This is definitely a great point. You’ll watch your stuff more closely with only one bag and much easier, too. Also, you might consider a lock/cable of some sort, even to lock it to a table or chair with you. Keeps things safer and someone can’t just walk away with it. We used something like this when we traveled halfway across the country via train last year and it was great. We were able to lock our stuff in the lounge and go out in the city for a bit even lighter. It’s hardly bombproof but most people aren’t traveling with bolt cutters. :) We had a lot of folks mention that they wished they had something similar. Though, if I had had just one bag, I’d likely have brought with it since it wouldn’t be that much. Anyway, it might be worth it to relieve some anxiety. They have a heavier duty version of the same cable if you’re gonna be in a locale with more concern. We liked the versatility of the dual cable locks but there are tons of similar options. As a person with severe allergies myself, definitely get a bracelet. They have some nice ones on the first website I linked down below and it could definitely save your life one day. Also if you have to carry around an EpiPen I suggest getting some of these keychains (second website) to put on whatever you use to carry it in in the event that someone needs to find it and use it on you.

I own an Everlane weekender, and I own this upright bag. In terms of appearance, the Everlane weekender is miles better. I think it actually looks 'cool' compared to the completely utilitarian upright bag. In terms of practicality and general use, it's the upright bag all the way.

I find the straps on the Everlane weekender to be a bit cumbersome (they keep sliding down). There's only one small pouch on the inside of the main compartment and one pocket on the outside, which is not nearly enough for the level of organization I desire. When totally full, it's just a little too long for the overhead compartment on the airplane too.

The upright bag is functional and durable, and it has lots of pockets, and it's expandable. I love it. If I'm just tossing a couple things in a bag, I'll use the Everlane weekender, but for any real trip, I use the upright bag. Plus, I decked mine out with these dinosaur luggage tags!

I couldn't find it online but you may be able to find someone on Etsy or something to custom make it.

I think this is right. I’ve seen these for luggage handles- mostly for identification purposes. They come in bright colors so that you can tell your bag apart from all the others that look alike on the carousel.
