Next time, you could get a cover for your charger or any other electrical cords so that the puppers doesn't hurt itself AND your laptop can safely be charged. Something like this-- Someone I know does this to hers to keep from her cat and it works like a charm. Hope you get it figured out.
Get some cord covers (I got one like this from eBay a couple years ago for ~$12 I think). My wife found some shorter lengths at the dollar store. It's just a flexible plastic tube with a slit in it to push the cable through, and keeps my cats from chewing important cords.

Like this. It keeps the cord from being gnawed on and can safely be sprayed with bitter apple spray to re-inforce no chewing. And if pup does chew on it a bit, they wont be electrocuted.
We bought a flexible plastic tubing and wrapped all our cords until our kitten figured out chewing that isn’t as much fun.

Cable Protector
This is what I've had on mine since the day I got it. Only had it a couple months so far but it makes the cable less prone to tangles and protects it better in case I should step on it or roll over it a bit with my chair. I'm very careful about that but it has happened. Just cut the length you need and slip the cable inside. it has a slit the whole length of it on one side.
