Your fear is expressed every time a new state in the US decides to loosen up their concealed carry laws and allow law-abiding citizens to carry weapons in public.
There's a vocal group of people claiming there will be blood in the streets and it will become the "Wild West" again.
Then, the law is passed, more people start carrying weapons, and you know what happens? Either the gun crime in the area stays the same or it decreases.
Every time.
Almost makes you think that law abiding gun owners aren't the ones you need to be worried about having guns, and that criminals aren't going through legal channels to acquire guns. What a concept.
Incidentally, we also had the "Assault Weapons Ban" for ten years back in the 90's. You know what happened when the "Assault Weapons Ban" expired? Gun crime decreased. I'll be damned!
EDIT: While I'm up on my soap box here I'll take a moment to endorse the Barska mini biometric safe. I own one, it works great, keeps the kids away from my guns, and allows quick access while not having to worry about a key to lose.
Agreed. I bought this safe a couple years ago for my pistols. Works fantastic. Has plenty of extra space for valuables as well. Plus it comes with hardware to bolt it to the floor or wall if you want.

riddle 1 - this Why a spoon, cousin? Well, upon further review of my wishlist one would see that this spoon and a kettle are missing tools of a beer brewing kit. And if you need to ask HOW a beer brewing kit would help in school ... you haven't been to school. "but Pax" you say in an impatient tone "the answer to the riddle isn't beer. True ... the kit can also ferment wine (mind ... blown)
