Escape: The Curse of the Temple - Honestly, an amazing filler, but expensive, especially if you're a game completionist. You barely notice that the 10 minutes is up =]

Jaipur - Filler with strategy and timing. Go check out Rahdo's review on this, amazing game

Biblios - Another good filler, auction style, again check out Rahdo's review.

Ultimate Werewolf Deluxe
Just saw it on Amazon for $14.95. I've seen good reviews online. You just need a group. I would grab it but I don't really have a board game group to do it with.

I'm also gonna throw in on a boardgame, politics/pre-law is making me lean towards Secret Hitler even though I think The Resistance is a slightly better game. Or Werewolf is an excellent party game if you get more than 10 people together. All three are social deduction games which will let him practise his arguing and cross-examination skills :p

  1. Play Ultimate Werewolf
  2. Then play Ultimate Werewolf with each person's cards revealed at the beginning.

There's a lot of similar types of games. Here's the werewolf one that this is based off if you're interested.

Also, have you played Bang! The Dice Game? That's my favorite version of Bang!.

That sounds just like this card game!

Werewolf is as lighthearted as you need it to be, and is lots of fun. It's a whodunit with role cards and a somebody leading (you! :])

Have you considered "ultimate werewolf"? it can be played in mere minutes or over several hours based on how many people you are playing, and if you are too few playing "one nigth ultimate werewolf" with the free app as narrarator (wich is on both appstore and google play) is an option too.

We had alot of fun with it atleast.

oh, my bad. tbh, I didn't realize the version I was playing is different from the one night edition :(

I was playing this one btw: https://www.amazon.com/Bezier-Games-UWDXBEZ-Ultimate-Werewolf/dp/B00MHWUJA0

in this case, I wake the special characters each night and ask them to make their moves. that's when I had that werewolf-witch issue.

Reservoir Dogs, Twin Peaks (TV), Clue

If you like games of any sort, I'd highly recommend 999. It's a fantastic DS game you can play on PC with an emulator. Also, the deduction-based party game Ultimate Werewolf or the online multiplayer version Town of Salem.

Just FYI, Werewolves Within is based off of a game called Werewolf. There are multiple versions available, but they're all generally similar.

I believe "Ultimate Werewolf" is the most popular recent version of Werewolf:

"Werewolf Ultimate" and "Mafia" seem like variations of essentially the same game, you're right.

"Werewolf One Night" is a spin off from "Werewolf" in which the entire game is condensed into one night/round. I don't know how many "nights" the original version of the game involved because I've never played it.

I picked up One Night over the original game because I spotted on the shelf at my local Books-a-Million and it got better reviews. Also noone is eliminated. In the original version if you are "lynched" after the first night you are out the rest of the game. One Night games are over after the first round of lynching then you just reshuffle and start another game. The games are like 5-10 minutes.

I promise I paid less than the $60 amazon price. I don't know what's going on there.

Ultimate Werewolf is a GREAT quite game. It does require a "moderator". Sometimes the talking gets loud, but that is when the moderator puts signs up and gets the group quite again. Its a fun game and the youth love it. (Just be sure to remove the 'Town Drunk' card. That would be a phone call from a parent that would be awkward)
