Best in-ear ones I've found are the Bose ones that have the part that hooks in the top of your inner ear.

There are also options for the in-line controls on iPhone/Android if that's something you like

After trying lots of the premium brands, I always went back to the Philips ActionFit. For a the price, they can't be beat.

Then I found the Bose Sound Sports.

Great sound, easy to get in your ear, they stay in, and are comfortable. Plus, you can get them without a microphone if you're one of those rare people who's important enough, but not so important, that you can get away without taking a phone call during your workout.

I have the Bose In-Ear Sport one's that are currently going for $49.99 on Amazon.com and stand by those.

These are good fit for me as I've tied few others and have not found one! They were great in plane for my recent long distance travel too

these bose earbuds are the best I've ever had. They're pricey, but they last.

Mine have survived 2 years of everyday workout use, a couple washings, a shampoo explosion in my gym bag, and being smashed once.

I picked up a pair of Bose soundsport in-ear headphones and looped the cables as Hellhunter describes in his post. I know that Bose headphones are not the most popular around here (or among audiophiles), but they fit perfectly in my ear (and feel super comfortable, I forget I'm wearing them) and never fall out or move around, and the sound quality is perfectly fine.

I also have a pair of Sennheiser HD 598 which I used for a while. They sound great, but for me the added inconvenience, and movement of the headphones while playing intense games was simply not worth it.

Hi folks - I'm looking for a new pair of earbuds. I used to own
https://www.amazon.com/Bose-SoundSport-ear-headphones-Charcoal/dp/B011IH5ZHG/ref=dp_ob_title_ce?th=1

but lost them. I'm not sure if I want to spend another $100 bucks on a paid of earbuds I leave at work, travel with, and generally have a fairly good chance of losing or breaking.

Are there anything with similar comfort/quality and style for less? I'm "not" an audiophile, so while I don't want terrible sound/quality I prob wouldn't be able to tell a major difference anyway.

I would consider any brand, except Philips.

Hello r/headphones!

Just for starts, I read the rules to make sure I am posting in the right place and used the search bar to see if my question has been asked yet, but apologies if I missed a step.

I tried using the headphone recommendations guide, but I felt that it wasn't as in-depth as I needed it to be, as I'm quite particular about fit.

For the last few years, my favourite headphones have been the Bose SoundSport In-Ear Headphones, and their predecessors, as I like the sound, they don't fall out of my ears when I'm at the gym or doing something active (probably because of those "StayHear" wing tips), they are super light and comfortable to wear, and they aren't noise-cancelling (as I'd like to know if I'm going to be hit by a bus). The only problem I have with them is that they never seem to last long for me: my most recent pair, which I bought during Amazon Prime Day this year, stopped working today (Dec 1) because I had the audacity to pull my music player out of my pocket. I did plug them in to other sources and they still don't work (one of the earbuds doesn't have sound, which tends to be the problem I normally get with my previous ones, and I don't feel like I'm particularly rough with them).

I love these headphones, but I'm starting to get irritated with how they don't last. So my question to you all is if there's something similar out there that will actually last more than a couple of years. My budget is around $100-150 CDN, but Christmas and my birthday are coming up so I'm open to seeing things more expensive.

TL;DR:

Budget: $100-$150, open to more to put on Christmas list

Source: Mostly an old Samsung SG4 which is now my dedicated music player, but also my Windows PC

Requirements for Isolation: I don't like noise-cancellation, as not hearing surrounding noises freaks me out. Plus don't like the feel of the seal

Preferred Tonal Balance: Smooth midrange/overall balanced

Past Headphones: Bose SoundSport In-Ear Headphones, Bose IE2 In-Ear Headphones because of how well they stay in my ears, even when being active

Preferred Music: Literally everything, from pop to rock to musicals to soul

Location: Canada

Hopefully that's enough info. Thanks all!!

Not really cheap but if you're willing to fork out like $100-$120, the Bose Freestyle Earbuds are really great sound quality and very comfortable.

Seems they are on sale.

The cord is a bit short for running though. I'm 6'1 and I have about 2-3 inches of slack if I am wearing pants with deepish pockets. You would probably need one of those arm straps.

Looking for earbuds that are comfortable and won't come loose when running and excising.

  • Budget - $40 max, $30 preferred from Amazon.

  • Source - Nexus 6p

  • Requirements for Isolation - A little/some.

  • Will you be using these headphones in public? - Yes

  • Preferred Type of Headphone - IEMs

  • Preferred tonal balance - Balanced

  • Past headphones - Cheap Skullcandy earphones as well as Bose SoundSport in-ear headphones that were my cousins. While I don't expect the same sound quality, I would love to have similar comfort.

  • Preferred Music - Rock and HipHop mostly.

  • What would you like to improve on from your set-up - Again, something comfortable and will remain in my ear while running.

I gotta plug my own headphones, these things are so much better than Apple ones, definitely worth the investment.
