Hey, I'm not the OP, but just wanted to say I went with your build, got everything together this past Friday and am very, very happy. The motherboard was backordered on Amazon so instead I went with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FWVJSHC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The only hiccup was the fan on the case panel with the window bumped right into the video card, so I yanked it and relocated to the front of the case.

I haven't built a pc from scratch in 12+ years (been living the MacBook life in grad school), so this was very helpful.

Cheers!

just picked that up as as i type for $60USD on amazon. its not feature rich, but it's gonna be used for my old R5 1600 that i just upgraded to 3600X. it is a mATX board, dont know if that matters to you.

So you folks have me thinking.

And thank you for that...

So I just cooked up this...

I bought the Gigabyte B450M DS3H from Amazon for $84.99 pre-tax 2 weeks ago. It will most likely drop back to around that on BF. No guarantee it will ship with the updated bios, but mine did so they must have new stock.

u/hunaybadja6 · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Is your current CPU a Ryzen 3 or a Ryzen 5 1600? Probably be best to upgrade your motherboard to a Ryzen 2000 ready board. Here is the cheapest Micro-ATX board I could find (that supports Ryzen 5 2600 out of box): https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FWVJSHC/?tag=pcpapi-20 Here is the cheapest ATX I could find: https://m.newegg.com/products/N82E16813145082?ignorebbr=1&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker%2c+LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566

> What should someone on a budget buy: a weak CPU with a board twice the price, or a good CPU on a cheap board?

"Board twice the price" of what? The CPU? The cheapest B450 board on Amazon right now costs $70 while the cheapest B350 board costs just $50 (which BTW is the same as the cheapest A320 board). None of these boards are anywhere close to costing a $110. If the 200GE was unlocked and someone wanted to build a super budget PC and overclock it they would more than likely go for the cheapest B-series board.

> I am very familiar with buying hardware on a short budget, since i have been building my own computers since i was 15, with money i could make doing freelance programming. Being able to have good hardware is a nice change.

I can relate to that. It's so liberating to not be so constrained by the limitations of the hardware inside a PC.

First thing: that's a 2600, not a 2600G (which doesn't exist). You want an SSD; a hybrid drive doesn't cut it in 2017 except in extreme budget builds; perhaps knock down the storage to a 512GB NVME SSD instead and perhaps the RAM to a single 8 slot (to upgrade later).

You don't need full size ATX given this list of components; I'd go with mid sized / mATX. https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B450M-DS3H-Ryzen-Motherboard/dp/B07FWVJSHC/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=b450M&qid=1566704031&s=gateway&sr=8-1 is what I bought for my Overwatch build 2 weeks ago; it's a good bit under $100 and has good VRMs for the price point if you want to overclock; you might want to consider getting a network card if you can't wire tho.

I just asked a friend and he told me the graphics card is in the mother board. here’s the motherboard

u/network_noob534 · 1 pointr/buildapc

If you are going to overclock; you can get the 2600 + a board such as this one with the 4+3 VRM config (I'm just parroting information here... I'm not actually sure of the true meaning of that.)

https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B450M-DS3H-Ryzen-Motherboard/dp/B07FWVJSHC

otherwise, if you do not want to overclock, go with the 2600X.

TBH though, either one should be more than fine for your needs and is a lot better than upgrading to an i3-7100 or something for example.

Got the info from this site (in German):

Please stop spreading nonsense like this on reddit. The very first search result on Amazon is a GIGABYTE B450M DS3H that says absolutely nothing about 3rd gen Ryzen 3xxx CPUs and yet they're fully supported.

Can I go with this or this? Or is there any more quality and budget-friendly MoBo available?

u/DM725 · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

It was good enough for a $650 gaming build. mATX, 4 Memory dimms. I had no issues with DDR4 2666 16gb memory and an RX 580 8GB. Apex Legends ran great in my testing.

I'm not sure that the a320 boards will work with Ryzen 5 without a BIOS update. Get a B450 series board if you want to avoid that(like this).

Amazon Warehouse Deal with 20% off makes this around $53 I think. Not sure how well it would do for an overclocked 2600, but it's not garbo tier in VRM's according to the image below

https://i.redd.it/7n48gewun0p21.png

But you can probably find a better used one like an asrock b450m pro4 from someone else if they're selling one. Just wanted to give you options!

u/The_Garbage_King · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I was going to buy it from Amazon, here's the link

u/PersonMeetup · 1 pointr/buildapc

I don't think there is going to be much around that price point, but if your able to spend around 20$ more, I would recommend the B450M-DS3H board from Gigabyte. It has good ram expansion (4 slots, 64 GB max), an M.2 slot, and 8 USB slots for the IO. Given it's price, it's worth looking into.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FWVJSHC/?tag=pcpapi-20

u/Mando_dablord · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

Also, I'm not sure if you prefer MSI or not. But Gigabyte has a 450M board for around $70. Figured you can use that to save money or get something better. Maybe get a better GPU or a 3600x.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FWVJSHC/?tag=pcpapi-20

u/dnyank1 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Honestly? Save your money.

A basic board by a good manufacturer will run these sub-100w TDP chips just fine, even mildly overclocked.
The B450-DS3H is $70, and is warrantied just as long as those more expensive boards.
https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-B450M-DS3H-Ryzen-Motherboard/dp/B07FWVJSHC/ref=sr_1_6?crid=2R7ZVZ5P5F0B5&keywords=b450+motherboard&qid=1566689550&s=electronics&sprefix=b450+%2Celectronics%2C137&sr=1-6

Those higher end boards show their merit mainly in power delivery/stability in extreme overclocking the thirstiest chips like the 3950X.
