Yes you need a GPU, forget that integrated crap.

Your CPU isn't the greatest, so I don't think you'd get the most out of a $200-$300 card, so get something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Geforce-GDDR5-Graphic-GV-N105TD5-4GD/dp/B01M4KGTNI/

That will work just fine for FFXIV

u/DarthRagnarok · 5 pointsr/pcgaming

I don't really advocate SLI setups due to some games having problems with dual cards. I don't think it's worth the hassle and i'd recommend getting a single card in most cases. This one isn't $100 exactly but it's a really good deal: https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Geforce-1050-Graphic-GV-N105TD5-4GD/dp/B01M4KGTNI/ref=zg_bs_284822_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=A56TD5HK2P0ABN1PB3JX

It has a mail in rebate so if you're comfortable doing that then i'd pull the trigger. Check out /r/buildapcsales and you're bound to find some really good deals.

u/Timer5 · 3 pointsr/nvidia

To be honest I that CPU will hold you back and the PSU in it will probably hold you back also. I say save your money buy a GTX 1050ti and with the money you save put it towards a whole new build.

So get that one

u/red286 · 3 pointsr/bapcsalescanada

A GTX 1050 2GB or GTX 1050 Ti 4GB should be fine for that.

Few options. Just my opinion.

Computers are dirt cheap nowadays. If you do anything, pick up one of these. No need to change out your powersupply, and unless you got a GTX 750Ti back in the day, it's a significant upgrade for like, 150 bucks. (On adverage, it's got 130% the capabilities of a 750 Ti, somewhat less than a 970, but that card is like 400 bucks >>

A 1050 ti 4GB would give you a LOT more bang for your buck, and still only $140.

Any on this list will work, so higher up the list the better.

Not sure what your budget is but this 1050 is fairly cheap.

Hard to do OW for anything less than $550

u/visualfeast · 2 pointsr/premiere

CC2015 and newer don't even support the GTX200 series.

What is your exact budget?

I'd get a GTX1050Ti 4GB for only $128...

Tom's Hardware always keeps an up-to-date list of their favorite graphics cards by price range.

The GeForce 1050ti seems to be a popular choice in the ~$150 range:

Down around $100 looks like the AMD RX460 is popular:

For the CPU, this is IN STORE ONLY at Micro Center. They seem to be out of stock at a lot of micro centers, in Marietta, GA they only have one in stock, the only one in GA which has it in stock. When you plan on going down there, definitely call the micro center to see if they can hold it for you or whatever. (Side story, my family lives down in GA and went there to build my grand dad's PC, and it's a nice microcenter with some nice staff). If you end up not being able to get it at microcenter, get it over at B&H, for $64. Heres the Micro Center Link: http://www.microcenter.com/product/477030/G4560_350GHz_Kaby_Lake

For the HDD, this looks like a micro center sale, but it is purchaseable online if you want to get it now. Other than that, most 1TB drives only cost $5 more, so I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to wait. Heres the link: http://www.microcenter.com/product/469983/Barracuda_1TB_35_Hard_Drive_-_OEM

For the GPU and PSU, grab them on Jet.com with coupon code spring15:

The GTX 1050 GPU will preform better for emulation, but it does have a mail in rebate. It is $100, but $80 after MIR. I'd get this card over the other card if you are fine with the rebate and spending a little more on the PSU. Here is the link to the GPU: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gXnG3C/msi-geforce-gtx-1050-2gb-video-card-gtx-1050-2g-oc and here is a link to the PSU you should get with this card: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qrwqqs/evga-550w-atx-power-supply-100-n1-0550-l1

A GPU upgrade if you want it, it will cost $28 more: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M4KGTNI/?tag=pcpapi-20

The case doubles in price if you don't buy it buy 5/10, heres the case you should get if you don't buy by that date: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/dwsKHx/rosewill-case-fbm01

Still looking? I have THIS model available.

u/CatfishChronic · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

it was this one, but now there's an EVGA one on newegg for $120 AR and comes with a free game (which is worth maybe $10 more)

As far as I could tell, there were no extra power slots to even use, and if there are, they're really well hidden lol. This is the card I bought, I don't know if maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Zotac sold most of their stock on Amazon for their 1050 ti mini. Gigabyte makes a similar one and they're still in good stock so the price is lower. Zotac's one was the price of the Gigabyte one last night when I posted. Check out this alternate if you want to save some moneys. Zotac and Gigabyte make really similar quality items, so just buy the better priced one.

I suggested two single fan 1050 ti cards because prebuilt cases have very spotty support for dual fan cards. You could measure the space in your case and buy one that is the right length, but going with a shorter one is the quick and easy way. 1050 ti is a really cool running card that doesn't require a dual fan cooler so it's not a big deal to just buy a highly compatible one.

Gonna figure out something for the case soon or just make one. Checked the parts to see if they're compatible and they seem fine together but I could be wrong. This won't be a profitable build, I'm aware but just for fun. Total cost just a little above 700 at 764

Thanks for the reply.

Like this one?

Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB GDDR5 128 Bit PCI-E Graphic Card (GV-N105TD5-4GD) https:\www.amazon.com/dp/B01M4KGTNI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_L3fRzb5QE3JBP

I can live with that. Will that do the trick, or would I be a lot better off spending a bit more? This is a one-time thing. I don't need anything that's going to run newer games or anything.

u/Corpsek9 · 1 pointr/buildapc

Don't buy that GPU. Buy this one instead GTX 1050TI

Also there should be dvi to vga converter with the GPU. If there isn't you'll have to buy this https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-DVI-Cable-Adapter-DVIVGAMF/dp/B000067SOH

u/ChawChawTrain · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I bought this one

https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-Geforce-1050-Graphic-GV-N105TD5-4GD/dp/B01M4KGTNI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1494507258&sr=8-3&keywords=1050+ti+4gb

The way the my PC works is that the Power supplys are external, when you buy the PC you get a 230w adapter included, if you want you can buy an additional 180w adapter and plug that into the PC as well.

u/martindm03 · 1 pointr/buildapc

There are two versions of that pc. One is a standard sized tower, and one is a SFF (small form factor) pc, so you will need a low profile graphics card if it is the SFF version. I recommend the low profile version of the GTX 1050 ti. If you can't fit a 2 slot card in there, which is entirely possible, and you need a low profile single slot card, I recommend the GT 1030, neither of these would require an upgrade to the PSU most likely. I would wait till you actually get the computer in your hands, open it up and look inside, see if the 1050 ti will fit as that would be the better option. It will fit if there are at least 2 slots of room including the one with the pci-e x16 slot. If you have the larger standard sized tower pc, I recommend the full sized 1050 ti, I have one of these exact cards and it is very good for the price, and I don't think you would need to upgrade the PSU for that one either.

u/ReachTheSky · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

I don't think this is possible. Half of your $400 budget will be consumed by the monitor and copy of Windows and it's not possible to build a gaming system for just $200. If we were to leave out the OS (Windows 10 can be used without being activated, but it's annoying as hell), it's still not feasible to build something for $300.

There is a better alternative that I suggest to people who are on a strict budget. Start looking around for used Dell Optiplex machines with Core i5/i7 processors. Companies are regularly throwing these out. You can usually find them on eBay, Craigslist or local computer recycling centers/parts stores for super cheap. Something like this, for example. If you're buying locally, then you can easily get it for $50-70 or maybe even less. It's easy to negotiate for these since peeps want them gone ASAP. Once you've got one, put a gaming GPU in it, like the GTX 1050 Ti and there you have it - an awesome gaming system.

u/Kronos_Selai · 1 pointr/Amd

Don't bother crossfiring that thing, that'd be a waste of money. My suggestion would be to comb through the used GPU market first, but if nothing good shows up I found these two options in your price range.

http://www.amazon.in/STRIX-Radeon-Gaming-Graphics-STRIX-RX460-O4G-GAMING/dp/B01K1JVQI4/ref=sr_1_4?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1487944392&sr=1-4

http://www.amazon.in/Gigabyte-Geforce-1050-Graphic-GV-N105TD5-4GD/dp/B01M4KGTNI/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1487944392&sr=1-2

I'd take the rx460 personally, but I also use Freesync. Both are great options, and will handle 1080p gaming better than your 7790. However, the leap would be much more profound if you got the rx470. If you can squeeze that into your budget, you'll be astounded by how fast it is for that price tag.

Hello there,

I'm currently looking to upgrade my motherboard from a stock motherboard of a Dell Optiplex 3010 (front, do not currently have a back-facing image) without having to purchase a new case. Is there anything that will fit that you guys know about?

As per other hardware, I currently have a 3rd Generation Intel Core i5-3470, an EVGA 500W Power Supply, and a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 Ti GPU.

I understand that my CPU is an older model, and that some modern motherboards won't be compatible with it, so if you're trying to help me out with this and can't find a board that will support my old CPU, feel free to suggest something other than that. My current end-goal is to have a fully-upgraded rig inside of this Optiplex 3010 case (by almost any means necessary), and having a newer CPU to go with a shiny new motherboard doesn't seem all too bad.

My budget for this hypothetical motherboard would probably cap at $130. Would probably be looking at a budget cap of $300 for both the Board and CPU.

Thank you very much!

Hey guys I currently have a GT 630 and am considering to upgrade the 1050 ti. I'm in Ecuador so my options are limited. I'm specifically looking at this card.

According to this comparison thing they don't seem to be that different? For gaming at least.

This are my specs using speccy.

What I'd mostly be playing:

  • Total War rome, shogun, and napoleon.
  • The witcher 1, 2, and 3.
  • CK2, and EU4.
  • Homeworld remastered.
  • Mount and Blade.

    Main question:

My GT 630 I just plug it into my mobo and it works. Would this card be like that too? I've read that some cards require special connectors that I don't have and wouldn't know at all how to get in Ecuador. Help please! I really want to upgrade!

In my budget (maybe) I'm also considering a Zotac GTX 1060 3GB version. It's $350 which is almost too painful for me but still doable. I'd rather stick with the 1050 ti I think. It only seems to run at 30 fps on the witcher 3 though. But I guess I'll have to settle? The asus strix 1050 ti 4GB retails at $275 if you're curious.

Would the 1060 work if I just plug it into my mobo or would it require special cables?

Buying online wouldn't really help. For instance the 1050 ti on Amazon here retails at $134 (oh my fuck!) but I have to pay almost $150 for shipping and custom taxes so it's not worth it at all. I know there are cheaper cards in other sites but I really wouldn't buy unless it Amazon.

    About power comsuption:

I'm using an ITTEK psu. It's local I think? Pic here (bonus pic of my bb).

    http://imgur.com/a/TVcv5
u/Turtle5204 · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

this 1050 ti is serving me quite well. On high-ultra settings at 1080p in most games, it runs at 60+ fps. It's a Gigabyte variant (exact one here). However sadly, the HDMI port seems to be faulty.

fps in games I play (max settings unless otherwise specified)
Rocket League: 80-120 fps
PlanetSide 2 (medium settings): 60 fps
KSP (SVE/SVT mods @ high res): 59 fps
Overwatch: 60-80 fps
Solar 2 (vsync disabled) - 1000-2000 fps
Terraria: 55-60 fps (I think vsync is forced, though)
