I think Im going to go that route, like you said if the stuff is out already then why not just get it done with.

I bought the stuff below to supplement my cleaning kit so I can handle rifles, I love my carbon fiber cleaning rod for my handguns so I ordered one for the AR. Do I really need the BCG tool? Ive been using Gunzilla but decided to move over to MPro7 is that a good idea for the AR, it seems most use CLP instead of separate solvent and oil but I do see some who go that way too. Do I need a bore guide?

I use this one: https://www.amazon.com/Hoppes-Elite-Piece-Carbon-Cleaning/dp/B01B496H70/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=carbon+fiber+cleaning+rod&qid=1565757760&s=gateway&sr=8-3

There are probably better ones out there, but I use it for everything from my .22 to my M1 Garand.

Edit: Forgot to add: it's more expensive and harder to store than a sectioned rod, but with care it will last as long as your firearms do.
