i3 6100 - 9.3k
8GB DDR4 RAM - 3k
H110 Mobo - 5k
Antec BP 450PS - 2.5k
Deepcool Micro ATX cabinet 2.5k(Dont get a mid tower, they arent worth it unless you are getting an ATX motherboard)
1TB HDD - 4k(Go for Seagate or WD)
That's about 26.3k without a GPU and a monitor, you could up to an i5 for a little extra but its worth the money if you want longetivity.
You can say in a review as many things about a HDD than about any other tech product: did the installation work well/was easy or not? were the screws and cable included or not? does the hard drive make noise when writing? is it fast when writing? is it fast when reading? etc.
It's the same for a CPU. But CPUs don't have such high 1 Star % : https://www.amazon.fr/Intel-Skylake-Processeur-i3-6100-BX80662I36100/product-reviews/B015VPX2EO/
I probably spent hours reading reviews about HDD (both 3,5" and external USB hard drives 2,5") and I confirm there is a strange bias, that I don't notice on other online shops.
Maybe it's linked to the fact, it's not Amazon who sell them, but third parties that might sell "seconds".
Mobo - Biostar Motherboard TB250-BTC
CPU - Intel 3.70 GHz Core i3-6100
Risers - Mailiya 6-Pack PCIe Dual Chip PCI-E 16x to 1x Powered Riser Adapter Card w/ 60cm USB 3.0 Extension Cable & 6 Pin PCI-E to SATA Power Cable
PSU - Corsair AXi Series, AX1200i
On the motherboard, you can fiddle with all the BIOS settings regarding mining, etc. I got hung up because I chose "6 cards" for mining. It did a weird POST screen and wouldn't boot. I put it on "More than 6" and it works fine (even though I only have 6).
On the Power Supply, you can just get any PSUs or any 1200W. I did notice it was pulling just over 1000W the other night but I didn't check which algorithm it was doing. There is another Corsair 1200W for $50 less than mine. I don't know the difference, but it wasn't available when I ordered, so I just threw down for $300.
Good luck! Let me know if you run into trouble and I'll look at my settings or whatever.
Man. You're so tough. You're looking for premium hardware, not going with the used parts. But accepting the PS4 which is a console. And the other one is a whole PC that you can do a lot with, rather than a gaming, wha da heck!!
Okay here are the links: I changed the parts a little bit. Removed the "Used" ones...

Are we good? Haha!
It would've been much cheaper if you consider the "used" parts and going with the ex-generation parts (Mobo+Cpu). Heck, X1 and PS4's parts are kinda old, ya know.
> Also, in my last post a kind individual recommended me the rx 480
For your resolution and the games you mentioned the RX 480 is more powerful than needed. The GTX 950 would be just fine.
For the i3, I'd go with the i3-6100. The H110 boards are not really more expensive, and DDR4 ram is cheap. Or do you have more than 8GB?
For the GPU, you have four options:
CPU | Intel Core i3-6100 | EUR 118,89 @ Amazon.de
Motherboard | MSI H110M PRO-VD | EUR 55,07 @ Amazon.de
Memory | Crucial CT8G4DFD8213 (8 GB) | EUR 29,99 @ Amazon.de
Video Card | Radeon R7 370 | EUR 139,90 @ Caseking
| Total | €350.83

Just a point to note, the 6100 is slightly cheaper (£105 with another tenner off if you use that code) and has fantastic overclocking

i3 6100
In case you TL;DR:
AMD is better bang for your buck. Intel is better for cutting-edge. Cutting edge is only relevant to $1500 procs, therefore anything Intel makes that's below AMDs top processor at the time, is basically overpriced.
Basically, the main differences between AMD and Intel are as follows:
AMD:
Cheaper than Intel in basically every facet
Uses 1 physical core per thread (irrelevant unless you're getting a very expensive CPU)
Intel:
Take your example build:
Proc - $117 - No heat sink or water cooling. 2 core, 4 threads
https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-6100-Cache-Processor-BX80662I36100/dp/B015VPX2EO
Board $76 - Not a lot to say about the board unless there's something about it you specifically want or like, if it works and supports all the cards and such you'll be needing, a board is a board.
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Gaming-Skylake-Motherboard-H110M/dp/B01B4U47E4
That's $193, and you get:
Building a cheapo AMD rig:
Proc - $105 - 8 core/8 thread @4.2 GHz - Comes with heat sink and pre-applied thermal paste in my experience.
https://www.amazon.com/AMD-8-Core-FX-8300-Processor-FD8300WMHKBOX/dp/B00TR8YL4W/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1481881649&sr=1-1&keywords=amd+fx+8300
Mobo - $57 - Same as last mobo, if it does what you need it to as per what you're looking for, and fits your case, a mobo is a mobo. Cheapo one for sure.
https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-DDR3-Micro-Motherboard-GA-78LMT-USB3/dp/B009FC3YJ8/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1481880866&sr=1-2&keywords=am3%2B+motherboard
That's $162, and you get:
DDR3 ram is also cheaper, which is another thing to think about and price out. AMD doesn't support DDR4 yet, thus using DDR3 still, that intel board requires DDR4. Expect to pay more.
So, in these examples, you can see that you get a lot more for a lot less pretty easy with AMD. I currently have an AMD rig with the FX 8350 in it, which is basically a more stable 8300 with a base speed of 4GHZ instead of 3.3, both can reach 4.2GHz.
I personally rock the 970 Aura by Asus (mobo). It's been great to me, and has some LEDs on it for the extra lookers!
A lot of people have biases towards either product, but my bias for AMD is just because of rational, why pay more for less? I haven't noticed any differences in problem rates with Intel vs AMD, either, it's not like they just make cheap garbage parts ;)
psu is absolute garbage
also it was written by someone
>DDR5
who thinks DDR5 exists, which is not a good sign. And if the retailer wrote that then that's really pretty dumb of them.
And the motherboard is on the extreme low end even for an AMD AM3+ board, I can't see the FX 6300 not throttling.
I wouldn't buy that system in a million years.
And you have no case.
https://www.amazon.es/Corsair-CX-CX450M-alimentaci%C3%B3n-certificaci%C3%B3n/dp/B019NWTCEA
This is a far more suitable PSU (ignore all wattages, this has just as much output as that "600W" thing you posted and is a million billion times better in every other way).
https://www.amazon.es/Intel-BX80662I36100-INTEL-I3-6100-2X3-7GHZ/dp/B015VPX2EO
I would get an i3 instead of the 6300
https://www.amazon.es/Intel-H110M-S2H-GA-H110M-S2H-Placa-base/dp/B01649KMZS/r
And DDR4 ram
https://www.amazon.es/Ballistix-Tactical-Memoria-PC4-21300-288-Pin/dp/B013SMKJSO
And for the GPU, an RX 480 or 470 (can't read that language, not sure if it says not in stock or what)
https://www.amazon.es/Sapphire-Radeon-480-Nitro-GDDR5/dp/B01IQS6QE6
Hard drive is fine but you need a case as well.
https://www.amazon.es/NOX-NXCBAYSX-ordenador-sobremesa-indicadores/dp/B008CXLJY8
Hey mate, I would highly recommend the Core i3 6100 over the 8350. You may need to buy a new board, but it's definitely faster.
Your PSU might not be enough for a crossfired Rx 480.
I would prioritize the monitor over the ram and rx 480.
For the performance you want, that's honestly overkill. If your son wants an explanation, please tell him that the games that he plays (Minecraft, League of Legends, Neopets, World of Warcraft) are not that graphics intensive and do not require such a highly-priced PC. Even if you did play graphics-intensive games, you can get the performance you're looking for, for much, much less.
You could put together a killer computer for about $800 or even less.
For starters, you do not need an i7. An i5, or even an i3 will do just fine for those games. Also, you do not need that CPU cooler and just use the stock one since it doesn't seem like you're planning to overclock the CPU.
32 GB of RAM is overkill for any game, regardless of what you're playing. You can get by with just 8GB of RAM, or 16GB just to be safe.
Also, you should probably wait for the GTX 1080 to drop if you're really set on getting it. It's currently way over MSRP due to the lack of stock. If you want to cut the costs a bit, and you want to future-proof the PC, you should try something like the GTX 970 or the new RX 480 after the price drops, and it will play those games perfectly fine.
As for the PSU, it looks like it costs a bit much, but it's good nonetheless. If you don't want to change that, it looks just fine to me.
The motherboard looks pretty good for the price, and the SSD and HDD are just fine as well.
Hope that helps!
EDIT: Sorry for editing the post so much, I realized that I left out a lot that I should've said.
i3 6100 would give the best performance for gaming i believe, but it's also right at the top of your budget.

Yup your right.
Without knowing your CPU/memory and or financial budget it is hard to say. But you probably want something off this list.
https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/?compatible_with=ttQRsY#sort=a8&s=14
Personally I would just sell the whole HP desktop on Ebay as some old person will probably buy it for a couple three hundred. Then you can just add that money to the ~$100 you would have spend on a mobo. So you are at about $300-400...add a couple cnotes and you should be able to build a decent rig around that 1050.
| part | price |
|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|------|
| mobo | $50 |
| cpu | $120 |
| ram | $85 |
| disk | $140 |
| ps | $40 |
| case | $40 |
| Total | $475 |
or go get a pcmasterrace build kabylake builds (I think the mobo prices are still too high)
(edit: to fix link)
you could buy this, update the bios, and then return it. I have a 4th gen so i wouldn't be able to help, as much as I want free laynes

Edit: looking at amazon specifically,
and then click 1m on the right. Both are just about $10 difference.
yes, i do have windows 8.1, i will be taking your suggestion on the ram, and 1 more question.
i3 6100 measurements are 11.7 x 11.2 x 7.9 while for example i5 6400 measurements are 11.7 x 10.7 x 8.4, i know the socket has to match the motherboard, and there's no size info on the motherboard's page about the cpu area, will it still fit? Took measurements from these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B010T6CG7E/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AFXON1SGSPLH4

I apologise for the stupid question.
What would be a good mobo for a Intel 3.70 GHz Core i3-6100 3M Cache Processor (BX80662I36100)?
I'm a newbie on building and kinda on a tight budget but I need to upgrade.. My computer I'm using is from 2009.
I plan on getting a Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1050 .
Getting an I3 and a GTX 1050 don't know shit about motherboards and need help finding a budget friendly that will work with parts.. Also would it be worth it to spend $60 more to get the 4gb version of the 1050?
I found a i3-6100 for a similar price. Does the increased number mean better performance or is the 4170 good enough? (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015VPX2EO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER)

Although if you're looking to buy that CPU I'd get the Intel I3 6100k for a couple bucks more
I have some DDR3 RAM sticks and was wondering if they would be compatible with a LGA 1151 MOBO.
Parts I´m considering are:
MOBO: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0165YUDTM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Another quick question.
Does this cpu come with the stock cooler or do I have to pat 150 for it to come with it.
Intel 3.70 GHz Core i3-6100 3M Cache Processor (BX80662I36100) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015VPX2EO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fvuzyb3R2CMVB

It says free delivery in the UK right here. Add it to your original wish list/cart too. Your build looks good so far.
Maybe you could change the Monitor to the one I suggested as it'll be bigger with the 24'' and it has pretty good reviews.
Also, try to look for 1x8GB, not 2x4GB. Your motherboard only has 2 RAM slots, so if you want to upgrade in the future, you'll need to throw out your 2x4GB. If you get 1x8GB there will be no problem. If you do not plan on upgrading any time soon, just go with 2x4GB as RAM usually runs better in Dual Channel.
How important is the number of cores for a CPU? I'd like to buy this CPU, but I'm not sure. How is it? Can I get 720p@30fps with this CPU, a GTX 580 and 8 GB of RAM?
The 1st gen i3 will never hold up in 2016. The problem is, upgrading your cpu to say, an i3 6100 means a motherboard upgrade, which means RAM upgrades too. Here's probably the cheapest upgrade route which should make the machine a 1080p beast:
Motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0165YUDTM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_RAzryb4XB0B0Z
RAM: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BIWLFGQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_MCzrybW1ABSNB
Intel i3 6100: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015VPX2EO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_xDzryb3QBBVYT
Total cost: $202
Should be okay, RAM is easily swappable for something faster if that is important to you.
do you have a recommendation for a motherboard ~$100 with the Z170M and LGA1151 socket?
i'm leaning towards going with the i3-6100 and something like the ASRock Z170M Pro4S using the onboard graphics for now and giving him the option to add a dedicated card as he finds the need.
I mostly ask because for my budget build I was recommended an i3 and a GTX 950 SC. No knowing when I'll actually be able to buy parts, but I try to keep it updated for the best possible deal at the time.
With Christmas coming up, my grandmother is apparently going to be giving me cash to put towards my computer. I'm done pretending that it's all going to come together soon, but if it does, I want to be on top of things.
I built my PC a little more than 4 years ago, and want to update some parts, mainly my CPU, for streaming.
This is my motherboard.
This is my CPU.
This is my graphics card.
This is my RAM.
What parts can I reasonably upgrade to bring it more up to date? Would this CPU be fine for my motherboard?
I'd recommend looking into an i3-6100 and B150 motherboard then. It's a little bit more expensive but also performs a little bit better. It's also readily available on Amazon.
Don't bs me. https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Black-Vishera-Clock-Turbo-x/dp/B009O7YUF6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1488215403&sr=8-1&keywords=8350 vs https://www.amazon.co.uk/Intel-BX80662I36100-Skylake-Dual-Core-Processor/dp/B015VPX2EO/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1488215420&sr=1-1&keywords=i3+6100
The stuttering, not sure if it's fixed or not. Blacklight retribution stuttered like crazy, dx11 fixed stutter but broke the game(google search confirmed dx11 is broke for that game), jumped in planetside 2 later and seemed to not stutter and looked smoother, but could just be random luck and will be back next time I play :/ As far as Ryzen, was looking at it but kinda questioning it though. The leaked benchmarks look to be between the i7 6800k and i7 6900k, but for gaming looked to fall between the i5 6500 and the i5 6600(the difference was only a couple percent between both the i5's and the Ryzen). Also seems all the Ryzen versions are overclockable, as long as you have one of the boards they allow you to overclock on(which was like 3).The price is unknown at this point, so who knows if the Ryzen or an i5 would be better for the price, and for all we know the benchmarks might look good but then the Ryzen could just fall on it's face when thrown in with different systems once released.
> Alternatively you could pick up a new mobo and an Intel i3
I'm thinking of just doing this after what you said, getting a new motherboard and an i3, though not sure which version to get. Looked around and kinda settled on the i3 6100 for $117 on amazon, take it this would be okay? As far as motherboards, looks like im probably going to need to buy new ram which is another $50-60 as looks like the i3 only supports DDR4(though I found DDR3 mobo that supports the 1151 socket). Looking at this Gigabyte board and this DDR4 ram which are hopefully okay.
> As a side-note, additional RAM wont make your system faster unless you're constantly running out of RAM either by browsing the net with a ridiculous number of tabs open, or audio/video editing
Yeah kinda figured, just was thinking of upgrading the ram because in planetside 2 my ram usage goes up to 88%(that's without ultra textures, that says uses more ram. Got similar usage when on all low even). Guess im basically running out of ram though. Game itself is eating up almost 6gb of ram(as my system idles around 1.80-2.30gb, not sure why it jumps around so much from start up to start up though)
Also thank you for your help so far, think this is probably the most help i've gotten so far
Hi, So I built my current rig back in April 2017 and thought I'd upgrade this black friday but I dont know what to upgrade. I'm running:

Case: Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 Case

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-H110M-A LGA1151 Intel H110 Micro ATX DDR4 Motherboard

Processor: Intel 3.70 GHz Core i3-6100 3M

Graphics card: GIGABYTE Geforce GTX 1050 2GB

RAM: 1 stick of Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 Dram

Power Supply: EVGA 430 W1

Storage: WD Blue 1TB Sata Hard Drive

This is the only PC I've ever built and I've never upgraded before. I would like to upgrade my CPU because its an i3 and I know its getting outdated but I dont know if thats the only thing needing an upgrade. I usually get 150+ frames on Counter-Strike and around 120fps on Overwatch but these are all on low settings. However I just recently bought BO4 and can barely run at 60 fps at low. Any advice as to what processor I need to upgrade to?

So in regards to Cpu's something like this would be a good subistute. But right now I'm swapping around parts and for the price it's looking like building a computer that's smaller than an ATX might be where the money is.
will this CPU work? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015VPX2EO/ref=psdc_229189_t1_B01NCESRJX
Processor i3-6100 8,983
Zotac 750 ti 8580
Motherboard h110-c 5,240
RAM hyper x 8 GB 5000
[HDD seagate barracuda 1tb] (https://www.mdcomputers.in/storage/internal-hdd/seagate-1tb-st1000dm010.html) 3500
Aoc G2460PQU 24" 144Hz 21,340
Total ~ 52,643
With the money left, get a good keyboard and mouse, cabinet and PSU. Don't cheap out on PSU. this build is built around monitor. That is why cheaper parts.
EDIT: Wait for my ryzen build. Far better than g4560 and i3.
Do all i3-6100 CPU's come with a heatsink fan? I'd like to get it from amazon but it doesn't say anything about a heatsink.

the standard version comes with the intel cooler (the basic one)
as you can see [here] (https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-6100-Cache-Processor-BX80662I36100/dp/B015VPX2EO) , look at "customer question /answers" the first question.

Is this enough info? Thanks
Best GPU in that price range is probably the rx 460. It'll run all those games easily at med/high settings 60 fps. However you should really get a new motherboard and CPU because I imagine a 10 year old CPU will bottleneck any current card hard, even a low end one.
It would cost about $160 but a core i3 and motherboard like this would run great.
Doesn't look like it comes with one.
Shit :C so that's some crappy news, thanks so much for your help though.
I've just had a Google around (and had a play with System Requirements Lab) - I'm not too bothered about playing it on the laptop, but once the new computer arrives i might look at upgrading the CPU.
Do you think something like this would be suitable?

+1 Rep. Thanks. I had shortlisted the i3 6100 + MSI H110M Pro. Comes up to the same and has more features. Im guessing the 6100 is better than the 4150.

I like it, but could use some tweaking. The gpu is not necessary, I'd rather save $100 and use onboard graphics; all of my other computers that I built have 3 monitors with no GPU and no lag/stutter. I also think 16gb of RAM is a requirement as chrome uses so much ram and considering its' price it is most likely money well spent. Also, the harddrive is probably not necessary either I don't think.
This is the current CPU that I am using and really enjoy (https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i3-6100-Cache-Processor-BX80662I36100/dp/B015VPX2EO). Is the one you linked better in terms of performance?
Thanks for your help!
Edit: Here is the SSD I got for $38 back in june of 2016 (ADATA USA Premier SP550 120GB 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drive ASP550SS3-120GM-C). Not sure as to why the price is higher now than it was before, but surely there must be a black friday deal for a 120gb ssd?
Don't buy another AMD processor.
Go with an i3-6100 and pick out a motherboard from here, you can easily keep that under 200 GBP and still use the rest of your components.
CPU : i3-6100

The i3-6100 outperforms the FX-4300, New MOBO compatible w/ i3-6100 and DDR4 memory, cheaper HHD with the same capacity, DDR4 8GB.

gpu wait for the newer amd/nvidia ones or grab a 950 series (not familiar with amd's 200-400series)
I'm upgrading soon (from a Core2Duo!) to [this Skylake i3] (https://www.amazon.com/Intel-BX80662I36100-i3-6100-Cache-Processor/dp/B015VPX2EO?ie=UTF8&tag=logicaincrem-20). I was doing some reading and people say that all LGA 115x slots use the same mounting scheme, so if a heat sink works with an LGA 1156 for example, it should work with LGA 1151.
My issue right now is I'm thinking about cleaning and re-using my old heat sink, which is this Thermaltake TT-8085A and is compatible with LGA 1156.
So, my question is, is this a good idea or should I just buy a new heatsink?

In the end, at my opinion, you're too young to build a PC by yourself. The PS4 looks to be a better idea.

How about 8-Threads for LESS than an Intel dual-core? They are already doing this.

If AMD really want's to make an impact, they'd want the SR3 to make BOTH the consumer i5 and i7 irrelevant.
