SE store can go fuck themselves with that $10.99 shipping for a single game. What a joke.
Here's Amazon link but its not available yet: https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Story-So-Far-PlayStation/dp/B07J2KVXY3/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1538747837&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=kingdome+hearts+the+story+so+far
Actually! The Story So Far contains 1.5 + 2.5 + 2.8
It's on Amazon too https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J2KVXY3/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Some of these prices are not the best. If you bought 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 on PSN right now that's like 73 dollars. If you're open to physical, Amazon has the Story So Far (the exact same content in one box) for $30 right now:
Link
If you buy that, it will give you over 100+ hours to play and by then KH3 might have a better sale.
Ni No Kuni 2 and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth are two other great games but again you'll find better deals physical (and they've had better digital discounts before).
here is the best deal ever.
Includes all KH games except KH3. All in 1080p.
You really won't. KH3's is built on top of a solid 7+ games. The game does it's best to recap things, but I don't imagine it'd work if you have no knowledge of the series at all. Is it possible? Yes. Will you be very confused though? Yes.
If you pick up KH3, I'd recommend you also pick up The Story So Far. The PS4 version of the game is only $25 on Amazon, so you'd be getting pretty much the entire KH series for less than $50, which is a steal.
More than that, you'd be able to play the entire series and best understand KH3.
buy this
and play in the order on the title screen order (something the other comments pointed out already).
I'm not sure if you wanted the one with 0.2 and 3D too so here's just 1.5+2.5 (which has everything from 1 to BBS)
This one is the story so far (everything leading up to 3)
iirc they should both be on the PSN store too

You can buy it for a slight markup. Also you search the other listings and you’ll see that amazon is still taking orders. Hope that’s helpful.
did a little digging.
amazon preorders are up
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J2KVXY3/
best buy preorders are NOT up yet
resetera is reporting (with various tweets as their citation) this will be physical only, usa only, and all games will be on a single disc.
Spoilers to KH2 but it has a moment where u fight 1000 heartless at once its pretty awesome https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Story-So-Far-PlayStation/dp/B07J2KVXY3/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1542932924&sr=8-1&keywords=kingdom+hearts+the+story+so+far
I could swear I read that was digital-only.
Edit: You mean the "Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far" edition, that is USA-only for whatever reason. You can get it off amazon.com
https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Story-So-Far-PlayStation/dp/B07J2KVXY3
If story is important to you, you will be absolutely lost. If understanding plot is vital to your enjoyment, I can't recommend it. You definitely need to play the other games first for any of the emotional payoff to mean anything.
The 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8 collections are an amazing value and could offer a couple hundred hours of value if you find yourself doing optional content. The Story So Far has all of that in one package (if you can find a copy) for about $40. It's fantastic.
Another thing to keep in mind with KH: the best way to get into the series is The Story So Far, which includes HD remasters of everything up to KHIII and costs ~$34 on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Story-So-Far-PlayStation/dp/B07J2KVXY3/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=kingdom+hearts+the+story+so+far&qid=1562252292&s=gateway&sprefix=kingdom&sr=8-1). It's PS4 exclusive, though.
This version is only digital. The physical version is this one: Kingdom Hearts The Story So Far - PlayStation 4 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J2KVXY3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_oZd1DbW3H68EB
That one doesn’t come with Kingdom Hearts 3 though so you would have to buy it separately
That was this, right? I knew about A Story Thus Far, but I swear that it was all sold out and never had a digital release. Used copies were upwards of $80-100, but it looks like it's actually back in stock (Which is nice). I bought a PS4 on an impulse for KH3, since the nostalgia was itching. That, and Spider-Man on PS4 (Games dope as shit).
“Unless there are PS4 games out there that recap the whole story” Kingdom Hearts 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 or just get this https://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-Story-So-Far-PlayStation/dp/B07J2KVXY3
Kingdom Hearts the Story So Far just released, which has every Kingdom Hearts game for $40!
Oh, wow. I thought you were talking about playing BBS on the remastered collections, but yeah they did release a mega collection on the PS4! If you want just the first six games of the series, there's the 1.5+2.5 collection. If you want the entire series though, they recently released a mega collection that has all the games in the series.
If you haven't played the "Final Mix" versions of KH1 and KH2, I definitely recommend getting one of the collections to do so. They have a bunch of extra stuff like optional bosses and new difficulty modes.
If you buy The Story So Far, you get every game that's not KH3 represented in some way. It's a pretty good value as you get five games, one smaller game/tech demo, and three movies.
If that's too much, just grab 1.5 + 2.5 Collection. This gives you four games and two movies, and contains KH1 and KH2.
If you're not working with a PS4, you'll need to buy 1.5 and 2.5 separately.
I'd suggest going for the kingdom hearts the story so far (minus 3) it's about 40$ usd, and has kh1 final mix, chain of memories re, kh2 final mix, recoded and 358/2 days "movies", birth by sleep, dream drop distance, kh2.8, and the hour long movie or so to hint at kh3 stuff. If you have never played a oh game this is a great set to get, but if you can find the 1.5+2.5 collection and 2.8 for cheaper, go for that as they are the same thing down to the bit from what I've heard.
Edit: you can also get a collection of all of them and kh3 on the psn for 100$ USD with kh1.5 and 2.5+ 2.8 as downloadable as of the purchase
Edit 2:
Psn kh3 all in one https://store.playstation.com/en-us/product/UP0082-CUSA12031_00-COLLECTION300000

The above would likely keep you busy for quite some time likely til kh3s release.
It's just the two existing discs (1.5+2.5 and 2.8) in one box, so there won't be any changes like Japanese dubs being an option. There are currently no plans to release it outside the US.

However, Amazon hasn't blocked it from shipping internationally to places outside the US. Here's the page to order it from.
Edit: Keep in mind that you may not be able to access any of the DLC (an added cutscene, a theater mode for KH1 cutscenes, and several PS4 themes) due to region-locking on the Playstation Store. The discs themselves are not region-locked, though, and will play in any PS4 console.
