Alternatively
I know it's not quite the same as a newer, well-built 8bitdo version, but you can always just get a Mayflash adapter, and plug in an old Wavebird. Been doing that to play Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door on Dolphin lately, and it's solid! My PC with Dolphin is in my office, but I'm playing in my living room next room over (using Gamestream) and the Wavebird is reaching just fine, solid as always.
The revised 2 port purple model of the mayflash adapter also has a Wii U and PC mode switch and can sometimes be found cheaper.
It functions the same as the 4 port model for all intents and purposes minus the 2 extra ports.
> A big life philosophy of mine is rhat people are too accepting of being okay with saying incorrect things.
I responded to the statement "2 port is cheaper and has direct." When I search "mayflash 4/2 port wii u adapter", they are both listed at $15.99: 4 port, 2 port
Ususally when people say "2 port" without any further clarification, they are referring to this piece of garbage. If you find a listing for this, it probably would be cheaper, because it's obsolete. But it doesn't "have direct", because at the time there was no official Wii U adapter to copy.
I use may flash it works fine for me without drivers installed

This does 4 controllers: https://www.amazon.com/ShineKee-GameCube-Controller-Adapter-Port/dp/B01CA3RQRO/
Just get a controller adapter.
Dolphin is probably one of the best active emulator projects at the moment. You can play all those games at ridiculous quality.
