I've got the MSI RX 580 8GB, it's pretty good. And it's £175.

I'm just worried that is a really old CPU and I'm not sure that £15 PSU is up to running a card like that.

Your GPU is holding you back. I'd upgrade that thing. Your CPU is fine ATM, maybe OCing would help with multitasking performance. I would purchase a RX 580 8 GB or GTX 1070.

I have specifically this AMD RX 580. Bare in mind I'm talking about EPS CPU power cables, not the PCIE cables for GPU power. Looking at the manual I only see the one cable provided for EPS. Reference

Aorus, Sapphire Pulse, or MSI for RX 580? I'm looking at these models in particular Aorus

Sapphire Pulse

MSI

On the GPU subject, is this a good card as a better option than the rx560 I have listed?
Edit: I just checked amazon.com and the card is listed at 620$, so I suppose this is a good deal.

u/DivineDecay · 1 pointr/buildapc

Yeah, I could get one cheaper on eBay but it's more important to me that I know it's brand new and therefore undamaged and that I get manufacturer warranty from the date I purchased it.

Sapphire are selling a 4GB RX 580 for £169.99 and MSI are selling an 8GB RX 580 for £199.99. Is it worth paying the extra £30 for the 8GB version? I mostly play Civ VI, WoW, games like that. Nothing super demanding as I have a PS4 Pro I tend to use, I just want to be able to play these sorts of games at 1080p, 60+FPS with max or near-max settings.

I decided against purchasing a monitor for now. So local stores have sales ever so often so I'll keep an eye on them. For now I'll be using the same TV I use for my PS4. I know it's terrible for a PC but until I have a bit more of a budget I'll make do.

The exact card I ordered is this one. I'm making dinner now so I'll edit the comment in a bit with what I just, it's mostly if you want to take a look yourself. Sapphire

Now let's see, the MSI you're referring to is this one, right? Not bad, especially considering the extra memory and such.

I'll reply to this better so sorry for the rushed comment. I'll cancel my order for the card right now since there clearly are better options and more research to be had. :P

Could consider this one, still dead cheap.

Go via pc part picker reviews, a lot of reviews on Amazon are written by morons. Stuff like "1 star cause gets hot"

Either one of those cards is going to be fine honestly.

I love the sapphire cards but sometimes prices spike with them and you might as well get a budget Vega 56 at the same price, to be fair though the one you've linked is a pretty fair price for sapphire. I'd go for that if you're happy with paying a little extra, defo don't go second hand with Rx 580's though unless you know the source personally.
