I wish there was a cheap way to mail things. I hate the shape and have 3 unused pairs sitting in a drawer.

IDK the proper terminology either but if you can't find similar shaped earbuds the stock ones are pretty cheap on Amazon.

Do the G5 and S7 use the same headphone button protocol?

As I understand it headphone button protocols/hardware isn't standardized so the same pair of headphones won't necessarily work on two different devices. You can listen to stereo audio but no guarantee the mic and the three buttons will work.

My Samsung headphones broke today and since I'm planning on upgrading my S5 to either a Galaxy S7 or LG G5 next month I don't want to buy a pair that doesn't work on my next device.

I know the S7 doesn't ship with headphones anymore Double checked and at least on Verizon they will ship with headphones and since the G5 hasn't launched yet so it's unknown whether it will have a pair included or not the G5 will also probably ship with headphones.

So should I just get a pair that work the my Galaxy? Worst case scenario I go for the G5 and it turns out they don't include headphones which would surprise me.

Also have the protocols changed since the S5 since they don't actually include a pair of headphones?

EDIT: Turns out headphones are included. Ordering this older version and this newer version since they're cheap and hopefully one of them isn't fake/broken on arrival.

Oh yea, if it wasnt for teh fact that xbox one had my friends on it and i knew i could get a decent bit for it then i would probably sell it, but at this point i would much rather just avoid future sony/microsoft consoles (im a sucker for some of the nintendo franchises).

as far as audio goes im afraid youve fallen on tone deaf ears, i have a pair of these samsung headphones i got via a promo and i dont think i could tell ya the difference in audio quality over these ones :P

Bad new - I looked into this more. Apple are butt-holes, and no matter what you do, you prob wont get them to work. They use a different 3.5mm standard and an adapter wont fix it.

Good news - Just buy a pair of these .

The Samsung OEM headphones have been working decently for me, and they're pretty similar to the Apple Earbud Design. Sure, the sound isn't great, but for $5, it's worth a try.

The online controls make them nice and yea they sound fine for jogging and stuff. Have you tried amazon? I know Samsung sells them from the website.

I have the OnePlus Bullets V2, which work pretty well. They have a microphone, volume buttons, and the single button universal remote.

I also have a pair of stock Samsung earbuds from my S6 which work with the OP 3T and feel decent. They are not soft tips, as visible in the link.

I see interesting. I can't handle on the ear headphones.

Yeah when I am on the go, I don't worry about quality. There is very few times in my life that I am free to listen to music and on the go outside of my car. At which point I am using a Bluetooth connection which is not really something to worry about with quality.
