I use 3 types.

For small holes to use for metal pins and antenna, you'll need a pin-vice. If manual twisting is an issue for you, you can get a spring action vice where you use a pushing motion and the vice does the twisting.

I use an electric power drill for larger holes. This is good in that you can control the rpm and torque so you can do precision holes. The drawback is that the smallest bit you can use is a 1/16th.

Then there's the rotary tool (commonly Dremmel) which uses high rpm's but has a ton of useful heads not only drills so can be used for cutting, sanding, drilling. But even at low rpm's it's still pretty fast and you can easily loose control. Also 1/16th is the smallest it can handle.
