This man has a point. Where's your Gamecube Twilight Princess copy?
Not that expensive as far as collector's items go.
Instead of opining on which version of TP is best, how about I give you what I feel are the strengths of the GCN and the Wii versions and from this information you can make an educated choice as to which better suits you?

In addition to this, there are minor differences that are neither good nor bad. For example, the Wii version features a fairy that functions as a targeting reticule. I won't bother to comprehensively list these.
Hopefully you'll find this list to be of use.
Here. Took me a while 8 seconds to find that.

used TP on amazon, $45 http://www.amazon.com/The-Legend-Zelda-Twilight-game-cube/dp/B0009UBR3A
Yep, it was developed for GameCube. The Wii version was basically just a port that added motion controls (and mirrored the visuals/controls from left to right, since Link was originally left-handed; there are more right-handed people in the world, so swinging the sword using the new motion control system would be awkward if Link wasn't also right-handed. I wish it was a setting you could change though, as I am left-handed)...
Anyways, the GameCube version was generally considered the 'definitive' version (until the HD remake), as the game was originally not meant to have motion controls; they feel a bit shoehorned into the Wii version, so playing with a GameCube controller is more natural. It was also a pretty rare game compared to the Wii version, though, so a used copy often goes for around $40 (USD).
Twilight Princess goes for a shitton of money, for example. There are probably others.

I know you were talking about the VC when you said you want to support Nintendo but in the next sentence you talked about buying used GC games and I just wanted to pop in and say that those aren't necessarily good deals.
I see them everywhere. The slackers had 4 used copies. This amazon seller has 15 apparently, new and used. I bought my copy just a few years ago for $26. Just seems really weird to me.
According to Amazon...upwards $100. Same for eBay prices.
I got lucky with a game store near where I live. Managed to get it for $45.
You can try Amazon, You just have to be very couscous. Most people don't except refunds.
Here I'll start you off. .
