I'm a little late, but in my bedroom I have an android box + this controller + Limelight.
It only cost me ~$120 and it works for Steam in-home streaming as well as XBMC, Netflix, emulators, etc. The downside is that your gaming PC has to have certain Nvidia graphics cards and I have slight lag that makes it tough for certain genres such as online FPS games, but games like South Park: Stick of Truth work great!

I can vouch for this little guy, comes with a little usb nub thing like mice do, has xinput, HID, and a custom profile, is only $30 and is really responsive. Little awkward at first, has okay battery life, and some of the buttons need to wear in over time. I'd rate it a 3.5/4, not just for the crappy nvidia jab, but also because 8.8/10 sounds stupid.
I haven't tested with 2 but I imagine it would work because they have 2 player mode. I use this controller. I've had it over a year now and it's been pretty solid. Good build quality and reliable.
