Well you can also get a bottom rail mount that is basically a box rail so the slide slides through it. That’s pretty common here’s in on Amazon

Or google "frame mount optic" or "glock scope mount". There are definitely cheaper options than the UM3 -- I think I picked up one for $25 at a gun show, and put a cheap optic on it -- which held up fairly well, since it wasn't riding on the slide.

Be aware that you can also get mounting plates that fit into a standard glock rear dovetail, although you lose the rear sight, I use this mounting plate on my target G17 P80 with a vortex viper. The plate has been rock solid (in fact, it's probably never coming out, as the fit is extremely tight).
