Posted on another comment but I will add it here:

If your looking for a low cost silver 22lr scope then either of these would be good choices:

https://www.amazon.com/BARSKA-4x32-Plinker-22-Riflescope-Silver/dp/B001JJCHXE

https://www.amazon.com/Simmons-TruPlex-Reticle-Rimfire-Riflescope/dp/B0000V2MQE/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_200_lp_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=9VKD83GTM054YKVVH7E9

I would not use the supplied scope rings though for the dovetail mount that the Marlins have a "one piece" mount will grip it a lot better and not move on you. For example a lot of people use this UTG mount:
https://www.amazon.com/UTG-Medium-Profile-Airgun-Mount/dp/B002TUSJVQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1520903490&sr=8-1&keywords=utg+one+piece+scope+mount

Make sure to order the tube size and height you need for your particular scope / needs

Edit to add: Forgot one if you want variable power
https://www.amazon.com/Simmons-Truplex-Riflescope-3-9X32-Silver/dp/B000GU67VU/ref=pd_sbs_200_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000GU67VU&pd_rd_r=3M2Q0WZDMENFNMW8X9FW&pd_rd_w=oIWJF&pd_rd_wg=Cr1sG&psc=1&refRID=3M2Q0WZDMENFNMW8X9FW

All interesting choices!
I have the Marlin 795 and I installed this cheapo mount for my glass:

https://www.amazon.ca/UTG-Airgun-Medium-Profile-Integral/dp/B002TUSJVQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1524225459&sr=8-3&keywords=utg+.22

Added a little blue loctite on the screws.

Thats normal with cheap scopes, not suited for airguns - they got destroyed VERY quickly.
This scope utg 3x9 have bigger chances to survive on whisper
plus 1 piece mount

yes.

save yourself the headache of rings, buy this:
https://www.amazon.ca/UTG-Airgun-Medium-Profile-Integral/dp/B002TUSJVQ/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1509544840&sr=8-5&keywords=utg+scope+mount

the dovetail on the marlin 795 is sorta shallow, I mounted my scope with the cheap rings it came with and after a couple hundred rounds it had slid back half an inch, ruining zero.

Switched to this mount, stayed solid for hundreds more rounds, survived a day of Mapleseed.

To mount it, just look on top of the receiver of your Marlin 795, you will see a sort of ridge or rail. That's an 11mm dovetail mount. Common on air rifles and .22's. Scope mounts slide on and you tighten the screws, similar to a picatinny rail, just without the slots, and narrower.

I had the exact same problem as you. The best thing to do is buy the UTG airgun mount ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002TUSJVQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1501040671&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=utg+airgun&dpPl=1&dpID=41MDJhdhg3L&ref=plSrch ). For some reason normal dovetail rings dont like to grip the 795 so they start to slide back after a while, as you mentioned. So you have to use one of these types of scope mounts that squeezes the entire dovetail, so that you have enough traction to hold the scope in place.
