Back in the day of CoD4, I velcro'd a (modified) cork to my joystick. Put sensitivity almost to the max, and I would wreck face with smgs in close quarters.
You will have a much larger range of motion which translates to finer adjustments, meaning you should be less jerky.
IMO, it's not worth buying the product unless you share the controller with others and they don't like the joystick extension. If you have the right materials, I think DIY'ing this solution is better than paying for however much your kontrol freeks cost. Also, if you DIY, you can customize the length of your extension, giving even finer control over non-DIY solutions.
Just for those who do want to DIY, I used some adhesive velcro, like these but I cut them into a circle. Also cut the cork to 50-75% of its original length, but that will be variable depending on thumb length.
Just search online for 2600mAh(or around that) power bank. There are tons of different ones available. Buy a square one then buy velcro sticky strips to attach it to the Gear VR.

Glad you like it! I love Corsair. I used to have a 650D, best case I've ever owned. I wish I never sold it. The SSD is mounted with four Velcro squares at each corner. I just paired them up back to back, and stuck the drive where I wanted it. Pretty painless!
