Don't forget about the equally tasty and quite possibly superior mango con chili.

Is it safe to assume that your brother is in the military deployed in Okinawa? If so, american candy is readily available on the stores in the base so if you'd like to save room you could possibly leave a little out.

I would recommend sending some ethnic snacks and trinkets which he probably won't see much of in Japan such as Pulparindo or Chili covered lollipops . If he favors more of a standard fair, you could possibly get him some Salt Water Taffy.

If your brother is a beer person you could also maybe get him some souvenir glasses / coasters / or growlers from a local brewery.

Respectfully,

Juunbugs

Chili mango suckers:

Same thing but watermelon (both are delicious):

These are a Mexican candy staple, tamarind chili pulp:

These are almost like a spicy Mexican fruit roll up:

These are candy sticks, the container is full of spicy/sour powder that you dip the stick in. These are cucumber flavor (sounds weird, but try it). They have other flavors too, watermelon is good.

Lucas is probably the biggest Mexican candy brand, and most of what they make is good. From these items you can view recommendations for more ideas to find something you like. There are a few variety packs as well, maybe you can try one of those to see what you like before you order a 40 pack of them. Good luck!

Not spicy at all, but still delicious. I'd be curious about some of the answers to your questions also, I need me some real spicy candy!

See's Candies! I've seen some stores in Hong Kong and Japan carry them, but never in Korea. My host family in Korea and Singapore loved the peppermint ones.

Being from Texas, you might get some Tex-Mex goodies as well. I'm a Texas girl myself, and I brought these https://www.amazon.com/Vero-Covered-Flavored-Lollipops-Pieces/dp/B0000ICLLS chili-mango lollipops. Kind of weird, but they were definitely a hit!
