Take a few mins and watch alternator troubleshooting videos on Youtube.

Remove the alternator and take it to AutoZone, they will test it for free. If it fails, unscrew the screws that hold on the brushes to the alternator, if it looks worn down then replace with this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005LPR1HY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Bring back to autozone and see if its still failed. I replaced the brushes on mine and it fired right back up after the symptoms you described
