ALRIGHT MOTHERFUCKER YOU WANNA MANSCAPE? LISTEN UP.

Here's what you do. Go to your local CVS or Walgreens or whatever the fuck. Find the bit where they have electric razors and trimmers and shit. Found it? Good.

Now look for one of these motherfuckers. Doesn't have to be the same brand, just the same style. Gotta look like a little pair of hair clippers. That motherfucker will come with guides, too. This is fuckin' important. Plus most of them run on AA batteries, so you don't need any weird chargers or shit.

So get that motherfucker home, rip it open and get some oil on those blades. Ooooh yeah baby, just like that. Now find one of those guides that looks like it's a good length for your pubes. I like to use one around the same length as my leg hair, but I'm also a Grizzly bear (literally) so I can get away with that.

Now, how are you gonna do this shit? You can't just trim your fuckin' pubes over the floor, oh no. And you can't do it in the fuckin' shower either. Here's what you do...

Squat over the goddamn toilet. No you stupid motherfucker, open the goddamn lid first. Face the tank and squat over that bitch so your nuts are hanging in the breeze. Feels nice, don't it?

Okay, now trim those pubes. bzzzzt, no problem. notice all the fuckin' hair is in the toilet bowl? Fuck yeah you do. Hit that lever baby, just hit it once. Oh shit motherfucker, all them pubes are getting flushed down and they're fucking gone now. Easy wasn't it? Of course it fucking was. Wipe any stragglers off of the bowl, pack up your trimmers and go eat some pizza.

Bam. Trim your pubes in 5 minutes, basically no clean up, and you have a clean uniform look. Problem fuckin' solved.

The best beard trimmer I've had so far. It's wonderful for trimming down the pubic area (and my pits too when I feel like the hair's too annoying)

u/FZ1Munky · 3 pointsr/Wetshaving

I use the same as /u/songwind as far as process goes. Keep it trimmed with the clippers and straighten up any weird lines. Shave around it with the DE.

I will also second the Wahl trimmer. I user a different model but it works great.

I'm guessing you mean an electric beard trimmer. If so, I use a Wahl very similar to this kit: https://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Cordless-Rechargeable-Trimmer-9918-6171/dp/B00009RF1E
Pretty sure Walmart stocks them as well for the same price.

u/hapns · 3 pointsr/beards

This will work fine for what you need. Previously, when I kept my beard short, I just used my Wahl clippers-- the same ones I'd use to cut my hair.

u/KylenolForKids · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

This is what I use for trimming. I typically use the 2 or 3 setting and try to make it same length as my sideburns/hair so it blends. I do this about once or twice a week and do minor touchups in between. This is especially important if you have a job where you want to look neat and clean but still have a beard.

This tool is also good for edging so you can shape the beard. You'll still need to use a razor to shave the rest of your neck and your upper cheeks. As Syeknom already said, don't overdo cheek shaving, don't underdo cheek shaving, don't have a neck beard but don't trim your beard up to your chin line. You can search online or go to r/beards to figure out how to do the neckline properly.

For the record, I would (probably) never pay a barber to trim my beard because I can easily do it myself and I'm more familiar with the shape of my own face and what I'm trying to achieve. However, if you're unsure what you want to do, this could be helpful.

We have bought a few different electric razors over the years for personal hygiene and what works best for us is a man's electric beard hair trimming razor for the monthly trimming, and a Cleancut personal shaver for the in-between times.

Get a trimmer. I have this one, and i've been using it for years. I just noticed when I was getting the link it's 15% off, so, that's cool, but get whatever one you want.

You just slap a guard on there and go to town. It will cut it all to the same lengths. i even go different directions.

But you'll want to grow more. The mustache plus chin beard and side parts works well and looks pretty professional. Something like this

Thanks for the advice! This is the first result with good reviews on Amazon (no affiliate link) and costs $15 USD/(45 USD locally in Europe, as usual).

I'm 24 and my facial hair just got slightly thicker started growing this year (3mm now after 7 week, mix of white blonde, light brown and red).

So I figured I can at least try something with it and didn't shave most of it for 10 days thinking I look just ass badass and scruffy as Ryan Gosling

Almost nobody, including some girl friends, even noticed. Too bad, because I'm starting to like it. After years of daily shaving…

btw: It's like having butter on my face after some meals, even thought I'm very cleanly.

u/SerialTimeKiller · 1 pointr/gamegrumps

Get this.

It's cheap, effective, and can be operated either cordlessly OR with the cord. Since mine is almost always plugged in in the bathroom, I like having one that will run straight from the wall as opposed to purely rechargeable ones.

First of all, you'll want to make sure you can grow a dense beard like Barry to get the same look. If so, then just find the length you want, select the appropriate guard, and go over the entire beard to keep it the same length, which is what Barry is doing.

For the parts you don't want bearded, if you've let them grow out a little too much, take off the guard and chop all that stuff off with the unguarded beard trimmer. The unguarded trimmer is also good for edging the beard-nonbeard interface. Use normal blades to get the nonbeard parts smooth; the trimmer is not designed for that.

Finally, be aware that the guarded trimmer will likely cut differently depending on whether you're going with or against the grain of your beard. Basically, it'll probably cut shorter against the grain. Experiment to see how it works out for you.

If you get things the way you want and have the right tools, which I've just mentioned, daily maintenance should be pretty quick.

It's very similar, I like the beard trimmers because they tend to have a slimmer head and are, for me, easier to maneuver. mreoww is also correct about how intuitive it is, just watch your bits around the guard and you'll be fine. Something like this clipper or trimmer are what you're looking for, not an electric shaver.

BTW... I love your name! Totally nails how I feel when I get a bit lazy. :)

u/nightwolf92 · 1 pointr/gifs

This is one that I used for years and had to replace it because it got old... I cant use anything that trims shorter than this without breaking out. The one I use now I cant think of the name but it doesn't cut as short as this and has a removable head.

This one does give a close "Trim" though. If you have the same problem that I do, this is probably as good as you are going to get without breaking out. Also the price is great.

I have the braun shaver hands down the best electric shaver, but the extension for beard trimmer went out. I'm now looking to get Remington MB-200 or Wahl 9918-6171 Groomsman Beard and Mustache Trimmer

u/wintermute-rising · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I do not like the trimmer on this one, it's shit. I use this one, which has lasted me ... 4-5 years now and I am only now pondering getting a new one. (All whal shavers are excellent, my next purchase will be a peanut trimmer as it is just as small but is corded, designed for professionals and has replaceable blades.)

When I let my hair get too long for the shaver to shave properly I use the trimmer first to shorten it.

u/vgambit · 1 pointr/YouShouldKnow

I used to love the ritual of shaving with a safety razor, but the bumps weren't worth it. I was told by an older gentleman to stick to these for grooming my facial hair, and to avoid razors. I've never looked back.

Tell your boyfriend to stick to the smallest beard guide if at all possible. Using the raw trimmer without a guide can still cut close enough to cause razor bumps. And buy some trimmer oil, as well.

Edit: To help drive home how real this problem is, the military has a strict shaving policy that black people are exempt from due to the problem of razor bumps.

u/darien_gap · 1 pointr/AskReddit

I found out about this completely by accident, bought a cheapo ($20) at some thrift store while on a roadtrip and had no other options. The thing turned out to be great, and that was 4 years ago. It's a Wahl something like this, which I use with no guard. YMMV, but I've been very satisfied, and for $20 it's worth a shot, even if this ends up as a backup.

that's the trimmer I use. If I'm trying to leave some length I'll just use one of the guards. If I'm just trimming the bottom and I'm going clean shaven or slight stubble then I just go at it without a guard. And yeah my hairs do the same thing
