The Elite bundle a good overall deal, but doesn't she want to cap it at $400? If that's the case, I'd say one of the 1 TB bundles. Like this one, or something. Dude, there is nothing magical about this. Either Europeans have to pay more than Americans (because we have a high VAT that's always applied) or companies selling to Europeans will subsidize the price vs what Americans have to pay. That's the simple truth. Americans have NO taxes on their online prices ever - companies selling to private citizens in the EU always will (pretty much).

I am also not saying that sometimes companies can for some reason overcharge is vs Americans. But that isn't happening in this case, and in many other cases.

The GTX 950 alone is 200 bucks. Also you don't even have an OS, you don't have a monitor and your PSY is really shit tier. A shit PSU can break your other PC parts I would never suggest someone to get a Bronze level PSU. Stop the bullshit with cheap PCs, it does cost a decent ammount to get a PC but it's miles better than any console because you can do so much more than just gaming. I don't know about PS4, but you can get an XB1 Gears of War Ultimate edition bundle for $250.00. The guy in the vid said XB1 is $300.00, and that the Switch would have an advantage over them. Not really though. Especially considering holiday sales are coming up in like a week.

I agree with what most others have said. But I would like to add a side note. Currently amazon has the 500gb GOW Bundle for about $310. So realistically you could save $90, put that in to a 2TB External HDD for $80 and you'll still end up saving $10 and have 3x the storage space. If you don't feel like waiting for Amazon Best Buy and Target will price match.

Well, you're right about how many people screw up and spend more for very little benefit, but I'm more focused on what is the best advice you can give someone that doesn't have either yet and wants to play modern games.

As far as fairness in comparing them, I was dismantling a post that only discussed price while cheating on the prices.

However, if you want to add having a Windows computer for non-game tasks to the requirement of playing a modem AAA game like fallout 4, we can have that discuss that comparison and I find that both options come out basically even today.

Resell the gears of war download code card on eBay or CL for $10-20 and you've spent $430 and have a brand new console with a warranty and a PC that will do pretty much anything the $500 PC build will do other than modem games. Reselling the gears card is not much different than doing rebates on PC components.

Yes, you will have to pay $40 for XBL each year but you'll have the latest generation console for the next ~6 years which is guaranteed to run the latest AAA games. That's $240 for online play over 6 years. On the $500 PC alternative you will need a new video card every 2-3 years depending on how cheap you go with them if you want to play new games at good settings. If you spend $170 on a graphics or graphics and RAM upgrade at 3 years, it's effectively the same cost.

I'd recommend the console and cheap PC alternative to many families because their kid can play halo and play online with more of their friends. This is something plenty of kids and adults will care about. Popular PC games are on sale more often but if you wait for demand to die off you can save money on Xbox games too. Number of games and types of games that someone will buy can make a big difference in how much one would save on the PC side over the life of the system.
