The bootleg styluses work pretty much the same as the regular ones, and are much cheaper.
You can probably find bootlegs for cheaper on eBay, but most of these lists are Amazon US, or UK items, so it might be easier getting them from there idk.

How can Nintendo charge £7.50 for one?!

I recently bought a set of 5 different colored teloscopic styli from a vendor on amazon and have noticed no problems in the 3 I have tried. They click in to the system and dont randomly wiggle out when its holstered and im playing. They also have the option to extend about 3 inches making it feel more like a pencil thus making it more comfortable. I was a ready to be disappointed but was thoroughly impressed. And 5 styli for 5.95 USD plus shipping is a pretty nice eeal, iny opinion.

My first job actually went pretty well, surprisingly.

I applied for a job at a local movie theater when I turned 16. I worked the ticket booth. (I was the person who would give you your ticket to take to whatever movie you asked me you wanted to see.) I worked there for about a year and had to leave because we moved pretty far away & I didn't want to have to drive so far. I probably would have stayed working there for much longer.

I'm getting a New 3DS XL for X-mas so I was in the same boat as you, on google/reddit/amazon/youtube I was looking to see what I should get. Here's what I ultimately decided on:

• HORI Duraflexi Clear Protector - this seems really popular here. Clear and still offers some protection.
  
  
• SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC - more memory :)
  
  
• Tomee New 3DS XL Stylus Pen Set - extra styluses (styli?). May be a good choice for your little ones if they are prone to losing things.
  
  
• DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL Official Nintendo Touch Stylus - more "pen sized" stylus. Saw these somewhere and immediately bought them.
  
  
• Technoskin - All In One Travel Carrying Case - did a lot of youtubing on cases. This is the one I landed on.
  
  
• Assecure pro red 18 in 1 game cartridge holder - Saw the Club Nintendo style case in a youtube video. This looks like the closest thing to it.
  
  And of course charger, usb charger, and a plethora of games.

I only use one (the black one) but I guess it's good to have the back-ups if I ever lost it. Fits perfectly flush when inserted into the console. They telescope (like you can stretch it out to be longer). They have a nice metal feel to them and I prefer their tips to the one that my XL came with.

   Both items fit the 3DS XL perfectly. I have both.

Got these Tomee styli a few months back because the stylus my N3DSXL kept falling out (hinge thing snapped). I use the gold one and it never falls out, looks awesome, and feels nice. I also use my finger for less accuracy-dependent actions. Couldn't play Animal Crossing without a stylus though. Gets too fucking tedious at times with a finger.

I need a new stylus for my XL. Does anyone know of any particularly good ones? I need it to fit in the stylus slot and not fall out.

I was thinking these or these, but only because they were the first few to come up on Amazon.

I bought this set of five retractable styluses that are perfectly compatible with the 3DS XL slot. No regrets whatsoever. I even gave some to fellow 3DS XL friends as gifts.

Is the struggle stylus really necessary? I mean, I can appreciate the ingenuity, but a 3DS stylus only costs like 4 bucks. Hell, a pack of 10 is $10 on Amazon

I work for a game store that sells these styluses (styli?) and whenever somebody needs one I just keep trying them until one sticks. Sometimes it's the one that specifically labeled for that particular system (the packaging has it but I can't find a picture for some reason) and sometimes it's not. I don't understand it. Search "new 3ds xl stylus" on Amazon and a few choices will pop up. Prime will get it to you in 2 days.

This is the first option, but only 1 black stylus out of 3.

I believe the issue is that it’s also known as the new 3ds xl, but it’s the same thing and you can probably find smaller packs of them with more looking on the internet but this should work in your slot
