Top Reddit comments about Nintendo 64 Consoles:

Let's do that. Hell, I'll even do it with Nintendo's own consoles.

>Nintendo Entertainment System (1985)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $412.
  • Best list price (new) $345.
  • $67 under inflation.

    >Super Nintendo Entertainment System (1991)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $332.
  • Best list price (new) $999. (Lowest is $288, but appears used.)
  • $667 over inflation.

    >Nintendo 64 (1996)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $289.
  • Best list price (new) $509.
  • $320 over inflation.

    >Gamecube (2001)

  • Launched at $200.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $259.
  • Best list price (new) $260.
  • $1 over inflation.

    >Wii (2006)

  • Launched at $250.
  • Adjusted for inflation to $284.
  • Best list price (new) $600.
  • $316 over inflation.

So, in conclusion, with the exception of the NES, every single Nintendo console is currently selling in it's original packaging for more than what it sold for (including inflation).

Edit : Since I know you're likely to ask how I calculated inflation, I didn't, I borrowed a Reddit post that had the data nicely compiled.

Happy cake day!!!

1 Rubber spatulas that I would use to mix up my cake, or icing colors which I use to die icings for cakes I make!

2 This one is a stretch but portal socks because Simon Pegg did voices for video games...and Portal is a video game!

3 I don't have any books on my WL. :P but.... I'd like to read this bag while I devour it's contents!

4 Mixing bowls. My SO tends to eat his cereal out of the few I have now >.<

5 Gecko food for our gecko! It even has a picture of one on the label!

6 Purple socks or purple nail polish!

7 Portal companion cube!

8 My (not so guilty) pleasure.

9 Pocket knife!

10 The definition of my childhood!

11 Literally for organizing!

12 My favorite hobby is baking!

13 PlayStation 4 could be geeky to some.

14 Made with 100% natural almonds!

I love this on /u/THE_DINOSAUR_QUEEN 's wishlist :D

She's also got a fab taste in yarns <3 and even though she's a knitter I love it anyways hehe.

u/saudiaramcoshill · 0 pointsr/HoustonClassifieds

If that's the way you feel, don't buy it. But I based my price on what Amazon had things going for, and the games in particular are expensive.

Saying it was 200 in the 90s is like saying a 68 mustang was 3 grand in the 60s. At this point the price goes up because Nintendo isn't making the games anymore and a lot have broken.

For reference:
Cheapest amazon N64 - $35 with no cables. Cheapest with cables is $45

Most controllers seem to be going for about $10-15 each, and I have 3

Cheapest used Super Smash Bros. - $53

Cheapest used Super Mario 64 - $28

Cheapest used Mario Kart 64 - $48

Cheapest used NFL Blitz - $13

Total cost: $207 + Shipping and handling to get the cheapest cost without factoring in condition.

A used N64. One that comes with a controller and the AV cables. Should be around 30-35$.

Retro consoles are the best man. I got one of these for my 11th birthday and it was the best birthday of my life.

u/steelchurro · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

i would like this thay are not too much used but i need one with all cables and a controller (sorry if i sound needy) lucky duck

u/cfmat · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Well, online retro stores charge under $100.

For instance:
https://www.rock30games.com/Item--i-308999999

Even amazon sellers are like $70
https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00002DHEV/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1497680301&sr=8-1&keywords=n64

Your local place sounds way off-base.

u/stevvc · 1 pointr/Flipping

I was thinking specifically of this listing, but you are right none of them are actually FBA. I do have enough cables that I have tested each and every one of them; thanks for the Craigslist advice though.

u/W1ndyC1tyFlyer · 1 pointr/Flipping

Thanks for the tip. However, mine was without cables and controllers and that on Amazon goes for exactly what I sold it for on eBay. https://smile.amazon.com/Console-Cables-Controllers-Sold-separately/dp/B001NN8C80/ref=sr_1_7?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1485432806&sr=1-7&keywords=nintendo+64+console

u/ciberaj · 1 pointr/gaming

Yeah... I hope you are talking about the used ones.

u/chistogo · 1 pointr/gaming

New in the box. They dont make them anymore. Almost like how a NEW N64 will cost you almost 300$

u/projectself · 2 pointsr/houston

how about amazon?

www.amazon.com/Nintendo-64-System-Video-Game-Console/dp/B00002DHEV/

u/raptras · 6 pointsr/pokemon

Really? Local game stores around here sell them for about $60 and Amazon is about the same

u/SonsOfLiberty86 · 1 pointr/gaming

For half the price, Amazon has it for $19.48

u/Nam-Ereh-Won · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

There's one for 40 with 6 fiddy shipping.

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/gaming

Amazon.

New $175

Used $20
